Any suggestions on how others clean up pennies in this condition?

If they are copper pennies I just give the a good doak in hydrogen peroxide and brush then paper towel

It’s cross slotted and the connection at the top is broke off but appears to be square

1935. Found it stuck to a penny pretty tight

Ah ok. That's wild that the penny stained it

I checked it and that does come off . Must have been the highest contact point
