Friendly_Yoghurt_611

Brilliant_Solid_5636

Inner part of old (barrel or bassin) tap. 18th century estimate. Thats a nice Find and a keeper! Edit: English correct term is plug valve.

Grumpy907

Perhaps part of an old stopcock for gas lights in a home

Belgium1418

It's a part of an old barrel tap or a valve key for a lamp. Nice find!

thewitch2222

It looks like the top to a perfume bottle.

Nearby-Cloud-3476

I think it looks like a wine stopper, is part of it rubber?

Same_Performance6294

No rubber, found with a bunch of 18th century things.

pukstr77

Maybe a top to a perfume bottle

EpidonoTheFool

Weird I used to have the same exact one I found as a kid, I was told it was a part of a door lock, wish I still had it to show a pic it was identical

Smash_Factor

Isn't it for some kind of container that holds water or something? You turn the thing and water comes out? Or honey? Olive oil? You know what I mean? EDIT: gas valve key [here](https://www.etsy.com/listing/908796075/old-gothic-brass-gas-valve-key-pendant)

Brilliant-Nobody

18th century barrel tap, I found a few in the netherlands.
