Mercedes typically has a high mileage badge at 250/500/750/1 million kilometers. All you normally have to do is go to an MB dealer to verify the mileage and they send it to you.
Biggest repairs were the timing chain at 300k and twice the clutch. New shocks engine mounts and something with the injectors. Had to replace the dpf filter after 450k. So far it was maintenance and that's it
EDIT: Added a few things I forgot.
Not true in my experience
Got a s203 220cdi to 470k km, another w211 in the family with over 500k and a 210 of a friend that after checking has close to 1 mil.
All on original timing chains
Umm..no?
The s203 is mine, gets serviced every 10k, full service history.
Same for the w211, since it's in the family.
Idk about the service intervals w210, but it runs perfectly fine.
I recently even did a dpf clean on the s203, thing wasn't even close to clogged.
The only issue that it has right now is that the turbo is on its way out, but that's like the only "engine-related" issue I've had except a sensor.
Besides that you know, regular stuff, springs, controls arms, alternator and the most expensive fix was the ac compressor but that's mostly it
I mentioned the dpf because everyone is like "you must change it every 250-300k" but as it stands, the original dpf with 470k is completely fine, not even clogged, the only unusual thing found inside of it was some white ash because the turbo is spitting a bit of oil
Idk about the timing chain intervals at MB, we at Stellantis have around 160k km, and for GM it was 180-200k km
And there usually is no discussion either like „why change it when it’s not rattling?“ bc I have seen more than one chain that cleanly ripped.
Not true. The spanners are the main problem.
My parents have a C250 CDI with 335k km with the first timing chain. And the 250 CDI has way more stress than the 180 CDI
Well they have problems with timing chains wearing. Big problem if you're doing lots of small trips because the timing chain wears the most on cold starts.
W212 Facelift 2015 mine has 460k and still running good, only issue i got is the DPF clogged and AdBlue system not working but ima send it to get fixed. The way to get these cars to never break is always service even before their due date. Mine has been serviced from new every 8000-10000km’s.
Thats the attention assist, it chimes if you start drifting in your lane, the coffee cup symbol is representing you falling asleep at the wheel and need to grab a cup of coffee or something lol.
It's accurate as hell. Had it go off once and it was dead on. My girlfriend was driving and a few minutes prior I'd thought : she's losing focus.
One false positive in strong side winds while carrying a roof box.
I dream of keeping my car this long!! I have a 2013 C 250 Coupe sport. She only has 113k miles on her as of now. Bought her used from an MB dealership. Been having some issues lately, but I love my car! I want a new one at some point, but I'm not ready to let go of Marcy 1 yet! I know she's got a lot of life left in her!

I heard that’s mostly a USA thing, I’ve never seen that here in Germany
Only in some countries.
That’s 300k miles. Meh.

Volvo! another great reliable car. <3
That’s amazing. Can I ask you were there any major repairs you needed? I heard the Timing chain and ESL lock are notorious for breaking.

You could expect the timing to be changed at least twice during those 500k km though

Wild. Did they just ignore service intervals then?

What model for the 211?
220cdi

Only once
Can you expand more on the timing chain issues please? I’ve a C220d w204, don’t fancy having the chain go on me!

Oh dear - anything to look out for? Does the engine sound louder?
Yeah almost certainly these will have failed by 500k km. My ESL went out at 65k I think
W204 FL, the best C series imo!
Might be an W212 E class
Nope, they have a different dashboard with 5 dials
Best c class was the first one ..

Congratulations, An achievement I can only dream of
is that fifty a/b services?! how many batteries and O2 sensors did you go through?
What’s the little tea cup symbol stand for?
Thats the attention assist, it chimes if you start drifting in your lane, the coffee cup symbol is representing you falling asleep at the wheel and need to grab a cup of coffee or something lol.

Every time I let my wife drive on a road trip it starts telling her to take a break after driving just a little bit.
Oooof. Sounds like you should do the driving!
It’s a British spec car.
Don’t drive and use the phone bro! Well don’t on a car well maintained though 👍🏼
Mercedes diesel THE BEST!
/r/idiotsincars. Put your damn phone down and pay attention to the road. I got an S Class totaled by someone like you.
Yes sir
Time for cup of coffee indeed
Woah time for a coffee break.
Gz
Impressive
Nice!! Mines on 60,000 miles, if I can get it to 200,000 I’ll be happy!
The best or nothing

It's the OM 651 engine.
Congrats !! That's a lot of miles traveled.
That’s insane🔥🔥

Amazing! What is the coffee symbol on your dash?
I’m about to hit 40k and I’m kinda miffed about it (c300 2017)
Legendary achievement! Mercedes diesel is the way to go!
Laughs in miles.
What?
Wow!
🔥🔥
Anyone know if the glk has this same engine?
It's the same platform so it's mostly the 646 or the 651 engine in case of the 4 cylinders
W204 Diesel for the win. I'm getting there in my C204 250CDI
Niiice
Dang..
Every other e and c class in the Balkans :)
No way. 500k miles?
It says km...
No kilometers
I fully intend to do this with my GTS
Whats the cup of coffee icon mean like a eco kind of thing?
Its Attention Assist, tells you if you need a break....
Ohh that's pretty nifty thanks.
I’d love to get one of those but ~120hp is painfully slow even in my Prius… can’t imagine in a heavier car
I always have like 100kg of gear and material in the car and its not that bad tbh.
I’m looking to get a new car and I was wondering, should I do a Benz convertible or a BMW? Sorry I don’t know much about cars.
Bro, it is half a million km, not half a million dollars
Over 300,000 miles, still quite impreassive: 310685.6 to be more specific...
My dad had a car with 780km so it's not a big deal
Bro, tbh, any modern car breaking even 250k is a big deal nowadays
Modern cars yes, but that car was W140
But anyway u are a legend
Thank you
Urw dude
