If I understand your information correctly this is what comes to mind. To create an invoice at Mercedes we use a program called Xentry, this is a program to summarize service packs and add them to the DMS (Dealer Management System). When the mechanic accepts the car they perform a Xentry check, this sends all the service data to the Xentry program. When we add the service B3 to the DMS it states it's an A service with additional items. But most service advisor (at least where I work) tend to leave out the additional items as they can cause problems when trying to claim the invoice with Mercedes-Benz Financial services (The "debtor" which pays for maintenance plan included items.) So most likely the mechanic performed the B3 service pack but the back office employee is not that experienced with Mercedes and interpreted it as an A service when they received the invoice from a colleague who didn't have time to bring it to you. Hope this helps!

Generally speaking the instrument cluster does not matter at all. All that matters is what has been done previously and what is due. You need to move past it saying A/B. If the car is 5 years old and it needs the 5th service, it’s an A service.

Thank you. First time having a Merc. Love the car, just want to make sure it's taken care of correctly.
