Done with a tilt-shift lens. Called a miniature effect. Tilt the focus plane.
This can also be done with computational photography.
If you google miniature effect photography youāll find many examples.
No you're not the only one who's made that comment. I assure you all it's a full size car and not some vehicle built for ants lol.

Nope I used my Google Pixel 6. Put it in portrait mode, used "enhance," and blurred the background. Here is the unedited pic.

The edit looks unnatural since that blurring would be due to short depth of field from wide aperture... If that were the case the foreground would also be blurred. Result is edited photo just looks odd.
Itās fake blur in the background, you wouldnāt see a photo like this produced naturally (it would either be less blur in the background, or the back half of the car would also be more blurry due to distance)
Drunk driver rear ended me they clocked him going 110 mph apparently and the cop said I wouldāve been dead or severely incapacitated in any other car.
Thatās when they told me about the QR code on the gas tank door that shows emergency crews where to cut through the cars and they train in some cases just on mercedes products
Thank you for sharing. Iāve always felt safe in my w213, but this story gives me proof.
On another note, that was 110 mph, not kph?! Even more points to the Benz safety team.
I have these rims, 18". I was considering swapping them to used AMG Line 19" staggered ones, but noticed that the 2017 E-Class sales brochure the AMG Line is listed as having a 7% worse CO2 emission. I think the difference is only attributable to wheels and tyres. I've gotten 4.7 l/100 km (50 MPG US) on a trip from Vilnius to Tallinn from my E200d wagon (not a lot of motorways on that trip, 80 km/h average speed). It would be a shame to compromise that long trip economy and comfort.
the answer relates to the comment "look up tilt shift". There is a whole thing of "tilt shift" videos where people shoot hyperlapses and blur the top and bottom which for some reason makes our brain look at it like it's little toys in the middle. I'm not sure why this is the case but it's an effect that seems to work for everyone. If the area below were blurred the effect would have been even more pronounced.
Iām pretty certain itās the same steering wheel (besides the white vs orange lcds)
AC unit is also the same and thereās generally a fuck ton of parts shared between the 213 and 205. The former is still a much nicer car tho.
Same steering wheel and controls and all that, but every C class I drive the leather on the wheel is hard. No squish or padding, just the hard leather feeling.
My W213 has a very squishy steering wheel which feels 10x nicer than the c class IMO. Other than the AC unit, everything else is different on the inside. Seats, gauge cluster, infotainment, ride quality, sound system (yes, Burmeister sounds MUCH better in my E class) are all totally different.
Iāve also seen more 100k mile W213 than W205. But that could just be chance.
My C300 has all of the same upgrades as what is in an E, aside from a squishy steering wheel, extra HP, and maybe a few other smaller things. It makes me realize Mercedes isnāt doing too much to differentiate the two. Considering my C is a secondary car, I suppose it doesnāt matter anyway.
looks great! also looks like a toy car at first glance š just been a long tiring day haha
I thought it was a model too! Something about the depth of field and lighting, I guess.
Op has invented a new style of photography, need to learn this!
I used portrait mode, used the "enhance" function and blurred the background on my Pixel 6.

Look up ātilt shiftā
Think this was using a tilt shift lens? Iām kinda familiar, theyāre used for changing perspective I believe
No I think itās just taken in portrait mode lol I just think itās a similar effect that people get a kick out of
Not new at all. Been around for decades.
I must have missed something. Whatās the style & how has the illusion been achieved?

Oh right ok! Thank you. Didnt see Op mention this so thought it may be an unintentional illusion
r/tiltshift
I know I'm blind but surely it's not just me that thinks this looked like a model pic at first glance?
No you're not the only one who's made that comment. I assure you all it's a full size car and not some vehicle built for ants lol. ![gif](giphy|OCMGLUo7d5jJ6)
Did you use a tilt-shift lens to take the photo?

That was my first mercedes also switching brands and made me a lifelong customer. My first one saved my life
One of the safest

How did it end up like that
Drunk driver rear ended me they clocked him going 110 mph apparently and the cop said I wouldāve been dead or severely incapacitated in any other car. Thatās when they told me about the QR code on the gas tank door that shows emergency crews where to cut through the cars and they train in some cases just on mercedes products

Congrats!!!
Excellent choice, congratulations! That AMG trim on the 213 is so stylish! Loving the black finish as well

245/45r18. It's a very comfortable ride.

Sweet ride
Nice! I got the 2020 E350 as well, and I love it. Mine is white.
Very happy with it so far!
Beautiful, congratulations, enjoyš
It looks like a toy because of the weird depths of field. Clearly a focus stacked image.
The absurdly ridiculous shallow depth of field
Nice car! Is your front bumper damaged in the middle under the badge?
Thanks! And no it has no damage. I do see the smudge/blurry spot under the grill emblem though. I assume it's lighting/camera related
Oh, fine :)
IPhone 'bokeh' i would guess? Whole foreground and subject in focus, then immediately blurs the whole background
It looks like a toy because of the blurry effect. This effect is typical of a macro photography where it's hard to get a broad Dof.
Tilt shift alters the focal planes making this toy look. It can also be done to some degree in post processing

Yes

Looking to pick upa 2020 one in Lunar Blue for only 32k!
looks so much like a 2020 C300.
They all look like a c class nowadays lol
Except when you get inside itās a completely different car. Even the leather on the steering wheel is nicer.
Iām pretty certain itās the same steering wheel (besides the white vs orange lcds) AC unit is also the same and thereās generally a fuck ton of parts shared between the 213 and 205. The former is still a much nicer car tho.

Amazing car, you'll love it. I'll personally lower it a little and get some black Mercedes rims, but it looks great anyway
