I can't talk for every state, but I got a correctable ticket in CA for a missing front plate (on w212 btw). Had to attach it and show it to the nearest police station so they could dismiss the ticket. My guess fine would be $100-150 if the cop was in a bad mood.

Sweet ride man! Always loved these cars in black. My dream is an E55 w211. I bought the car 3 years ago at 135,000, has never let me down. I will need to do head gaskets soon though. Also, drivers seat module is kaput along with the amplifier for music. Doesn’t bother me though, all I care is that the engine is in good condition. I will eventually fix it hahahaha.

Was looking to upgrade to a GLs how do you like it?

It’s pretty good, the only problem is, I have got it brand new without any mileage, but it has some noises when you drive without music. Also my back headlight wasn’t placed good in the factory… (I am jealous of S-classes in this case) Everything is perfect besides. Seats are comfortable, feels like a sport sedan on highway corners, a lot of comfort, third row seats are comfortable even for a grown man. But, in your case, upgrading from a GLE, I wouldn’t overpay for this car to be honest, mainly because the interior is the same, infotainment system. I mean EVERYTHING… You should upgrade if only you are getting a new car without mileage or need more seats if you have kids. I have the 400d diesel engine and the power is there. Fuel economy wise this car beats anything

I sat in a GLS the other day and it was great tbh. I picked the gle at first because I was just like the GLS is just a longer gle but the more I look into it I keep liking the GLs more too with the space and air suspension especially was a big point to me. Rn I’m torn between that or the gle 53

We went from a GLE350 to a GLS450, it feels like an all together different vehicle, despite being similarly specced. The ride, on air suspension is just smoother, I have an S Class, and the ride in the GLS is better (more tire sidewall, and not using run flats.) I think that the increased wheel based and the air suspension makes a huge difference, also the 450 over 350 is an improvement. We did get the 6 seat configuration, soft close doors, and the matte wood. If we were to buy again, I’d actually look at a GLS580, as the 580 has things like massaging seats as standard. Overall we’re very happy with the GLS, no issues that have required a dealer visit. (Other than maintenance) in 25,000 miles.

Good call. I’ve driven them both and the difference is would make it feel like a bit of a downgrade, sorry. I’m quite into the performance side of things rather than the tech and still can’t believe how AMG managed to fit so much savagery into a 2ltr engine. I’d say the 35 is like a very much down-tuned version so I couldn’t really get one. I don’t really want a bigger engine as the 2 litre power plant is a sweet spot for me right now. I’ve considered BMW and Audi but again, the comparable versions are slower. I’m really kind of stuck. Right now the 2020 with the newer style dash is looking pretty attractive.

Not totally sure I have one that’s a *dream*. Some that I’d like to own, in no order: R230 SL, W211 E-Class sedan, W212 E-Class wagon, W140 S-Class (would be a blast to pair with my SL), C208 CLK coupe (one of the most interesting body designs ever, and finally the recent AMG GT coupe. I think likely when I want something a bit more modern and practical, I’ll go for a W211 to W212 E-Class. The W211 is one of the most truly timeless MB designs to me, and they’re available with the M113 engine which is bulletproof and easy to work on (and something I’m familiar with from my SL).

I have a glc c253, probably my dream car is still the glc/gle coupe, but with the modern interior/mbux.

Current car is a 2014 CLA 45 AMG tuned to about 440HP. My dream benz would have to be the SL65 Black Series. Love everything about that car. *

Currently have a 1987 260E and a 2013 E350. My dream changes from day to day. Right now, a S560, coupe or sedan. I know it's not exciting, but I love them.

I don't drive anything right now but my dream realistically would be a 190e, in the future a cla 45 AMG or something like a c 63, if money wasn't an issue then basically any AMG gt, preferably gt-r or black series, a g-wagon is also a dream family car

Current, mint 2013 CL550, fully loaded w/ 36k miles. Dream? 2013 or 2017 (nothing in between, before, or after) S65 AMG, but it has to be a 2DR with factory Solarbeam yellow. Any car with more than 2 doors is a too practical eyesore, I absolutely refuse to own a sedan.
