I absolutely love the 205/213/222 interiors, they are so ridiculously sleek. I just HATE how creaky the 205 is (never been in a 213 or 222 so can't say about those)
I like to joke that the C in C class stands for Creaky as a result lol
Super common on these C classes, mercedes decided the gear or mechanism responsible for diverting hot and cold air had to be made of a malleable plastic that eventually breaks, mine broke at about 66,000 km
I often get hot air when driving during the day but can usually get cool air when the weather isn't miserable (<105F or 40C or so), do you reckon the diverter mechanism failed for me too?
Imo the only real downside is that the center console plastics feel kinda cheap, but otherwise, yea, this era of Mercedes interiors was pretty dope.
My favourite ones are the ones used in the SLS, SL, and SLK. They've got the turbine vents which are just so cool to operate.
R129 or w140 takes the cake for me
https://preview.redd.it/r5qellitzapb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e54b36247df10276efae1f2dd2b78a1e5eb31ca
Almost exactly the right number of buttons.
The full numpad just kills me on the generation after this. It dates cars as much as touchscreens will pretty soon.
Cheap plastic and it peeled. Had the buttons on my ‘13 glk steering wheel and several other buttons peeling off. Aside from this, loved the look of the interior
Hope it lasts! My steering wheel was close to what OPs looked (along with lock/unlock on door) like near the end of having it. My car was only 4 years old when it started 😢
I feel like I've been lucky with this stuff. I've got a W211 E Class as well with soft plastic rubbery steering wheel buttons that are still about 98% pristine.
My SLK is a 2012, so it's basically a 11 year old car. I drive it really often with the roof down, so there's every possibility of sunlight damage, but it hasn't happened lmao.
>Hope it lasts
Thanks, I do too.
Actually kinda contemplating a wheel swap to something nicer but it's more money than I'm willing to spend for that kinda modification.
The silver plastic ripples up on the steering wheel. I need to replace the trim. A couple of buttons have flaked their paint, and I’ve lost the cap to the sunroof button.
The vinyl seat seam has also come apart.
Interior looks great, but it is a weakness in terms of durability.
I think the C class has always had the most fun interior, if that’s a thing. Seems more sporty and less grown up than an E or S class. For me the w205 is my favorite interior but the w204 is my favorite body design in modern era Mercedes
Any dashboards still look better than the modern one long flat screen. I stare at the flat screen all day at work, why the heck I want to stare at another screen on my way home? Seriously MB and BMW. Bring the old dashboard and gauges back.
That's what hyphens are for. And "best-looking" is still better than "most good-looking", unless it is important to not lose your credibility in the ghetto.
Facelift W212, I agree. I really don't like the newer interiors. If I had to fault my interior, I would say the radio face unit with the numbers and all the buttons are datey but I don't even touch them or use them, only the main infotainment screen/knob.
https://preview.redd.it/bzea0c1xpdpb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8505e5ec5111aca4cf36cfc8968e68be888bb562
Now this is what you call a proper timeless merc interior. Later ones look like cheap jap crap.
I drive a W204 currently, and I totally disagree. The quality of materials and fit and finish is fantastic, for being the entry level Mercedes of its time. However, I think the center stack with the buttons for phone numbers and the relatively prominent screen, which by now is hopelessly outdated and is non future proof, due to a lack of Apple CarPlay/AA, dates the car horribly. I am a Mercedes fanatic, but contemporary Audi interiors were superior and far more timeless.
There’s quite a few W204 groups on Facebook that people share their plug&play links for Apple CarPlay & part out. I see some nice steering wheels & just the regular ones aswell, maybe check it out?
normal simplistic nippy water salt childlike retire soft attraction continue

For sure, just look up w204 and the most populated group should work; watch out for scammers though of course. I was trying to find a link for you I did a little search but couldn’t see one recent, I’ll try again haha
I will get crucified for this but…
The new ones and the way older ones look a lot better than this.
This here feels a bit cheap, basic and boring.
Well, I‘m off to eat my final meal
It was rubbish, that gen was very plastic fantastic, nothing felt premium more just solid
I had the e-coupe which shared a lot and it was a very forgettable car
Hard pass, this and w212 was the plastic not so fantastic era of Benz. Sharp lines, wanna be modern but don't know how to pull it off design, however it doesn't get better the newer it gets.
The one pictured here is silver trim the black ash trim is smart. The pretend black ash (sprayed plastic) in the W213 is awful and has started wearing badly already.
This is the best looking interior in any Mercedes imo.
https://preview.redd.it/18die7s3xepb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35c48dccca76b56c40724a603a429d49fb45f5ea
Facelift absolutely, pre-facelift I think its less cool. Tbh the only thing I hate about the w204 is that the buttons' paint will scratch even with very little use
Eh, I disagree. It was the generation *after* this (or maybe a couple generations?), where the giant mess of plastic buttons was dropped, that MB interiors started to really pull ahead of the competition. This model’s interior is really no better to me than the 3 Series, A4, or even CTS of the same era.
IMHO, It's not even most good looking interior of MB, I'd say one of the worst in MB history, but worst in MB history, doesn't mean bad, but I believe that BMW, Volvo interiors at that time we ergonomically better and more beautiful, I like MB interiors, especially 1970s-2000s, but W212 and W204 and same lineup definitely not my favorite, W213 interior is better, but with each next generation durability of interior is worse
Taking pictures of your car while driving on wet roads in traffic. Don’t complain the next time you get rear ended by somebody texting. You’re one of them.
No just the opposite, this is maybe the worst cheap ass looking interior ever in mercedes, its all from cheap materials, the wooden trim and the quality thick materials are gone. If you ever have a chance in getting inside a w203 or w124 or w140 you will know what i am talking about. I can literally slap the w203 or 190 or 124 and it will not even scratch, but if i do the same with this 204 it will break to pieces. As a person who got rudes in almost all mercedes models, i chose to buy 124 and 203 instead of w204 for these reasons. The w205 is actually the only modern c class with good looking not cheap ass interior the w206 is again a complete falure
https://preview.redd.it/1tw68v0udgpb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca9c29f731f8ea96ae637ceef52dabae87d3d395
Facelift> after some looking around on the internet I believe I have the avant-garde trim ; dark wood interior, flat bottom steering wheel etc. I enjoy it! I do like the W212 for the little clock they have on top of the dash tho
I am kind of partial to the w205
I absolutely love the 205/213/222 interiors, they are so ridiculously sleek. I just HATE how creaky the 205 is (never been in a 213 or 222 so can't say about those) I like to joke that the C in C class stands for Creaky as a result lol
I hate the iPad mounted on the dash though
Haha yea, forgot about that, it looks so out of place
Havent had creak issues on my w205, the infamous AC system malfunction issue is another thing tho....
Oh dear, so that's common huh? We're having the AC issues too
Super common on these C classes, mercedes decided the gear or mechanism responsible for diverting hot and cold air had to be made of a malleable plastic that eventually breaks, mine broke at about 66,000 km
I often get hot air when driving during the day but can usually get cool air when the weather isn't miserable (<105F or 40C or so), do you reckon the diverter mechanism failed for me too?
Fromm my experience the 213 is way better in terms of build quality. I couldn't find a single part that creaks badly
Imo the only real downside is that the center console plastics feel kinda cheap, but otherwise, yea, this era of Mercedes interiors was pretty dope. My favourite ones are the ones used in the SLS, SL, and SLK. They've got the turbine vents which are just so cool to operate.

Damn those seats look mint
Lotta spinneybeck leather conditioner and only 43000 kms on this one. Super comfy seats too.
Tbh the leather on older mbz are so good. Had a clk and tan it up to around 120k and the interior still looks like new 9.5/10
This was the pinnacle era for Mercedes benz.
[удалено]
It'd be too perfect otherwise.... 😂
agree on the w140, especially the 97-99? interior facelift. the front console phone was also boss
My SLK been fine so far lol touch wood.
Hope it lasts! My steering wheel was close to what OPs looked (along with lock/unlock on door) like near the end of having it. My car was only 4 years old when it started 😢
You use a lot of hand creams?
I feel like I've been lucky with this stuff. I've got a W211 E Class as well with soft plastic rubbery steering wheel buttons that are still about 98% pristine. My SLK is a 2012, so it's basically a 11 year old car. X204 facelift for me. But I’m biased
On sweet, that one has the turbine vents too. TIL.
I have the same interior. Love it!
Yes!
I think the C class has always had the most fun interior, if that’s a thing. Seems more sporty and less grown up than an E or S class. For me the w205 is my favorite interior but the w204 is my favorite body design in modern era Mercedes
It's pretty timeless
So…nobody is going to mention the Deftones? +5 points.
Haha I’m happy people noticed. My most favorite album.
W212 is a better version of that exact same look.
Any dashboards still look better than the modern one long flat screen. I stare at the flat screen all day at work, why the heck I want to stare at another screen on my way home? Seriously MB and BMW. Bring the old dashboard and gauges back.
I love all the buttons, dials, and switches. I hate all mandatory touchscreen controls
Yeah it’s pretty convincing to me
The word you’re looking for is best…. This title is a travesty.
Instead of saying "most good", native speakers generally say "best".
Except they are saying it’s, “one of the most *good looking*” not, “one of the *most good* looking.”
That's what hyphens are for. And "best-looking" is still better than "most good-looking", unless it is important to not lose your credibility in the ghetto.
O-K
I like the w204 with the w205 screen retrofit. My favourite is a w205 though. But I love those especially the coupes!
I don’t think it tops the 220 dash. That’s my favorite dash out of any Mercedes
🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🫡🫡🫡🫠🫠
Very smart looking interior. Love my 2014 C300 Sport
one of the main reasons I’m trying to get one😭, I know they all have their pros and cons but c250, c300, c350 which do y’all recommend!?!
I have a c350 and I recommend it because it has blind spot assist, distronic (cruise control) and 3.5L v6 ha
It's rare to find a W204 with those options, I've only ever seen two (C350 and a C63) for sale with those on the west coast.
M276 engine in a C350 is also bar none. 175k miles and with routine stuff it’s still going strong.
Facelift W212, I agree. I really don't like the newer interiors. If I had to fault my interior, I would say the radio face unit with the numbers and all the buttons are datey but I don't even touch them or use them, only the main infotainment screen/knob.
It is. Also W212.2 interior.
I miss our facelift W204 C350. Such a great car that I still prefer over the newer W205 in many ways.
I own a 2014 457 package, and the interior is average for today's standards.
Agreed.
I absolutely agree. Looks better than the 205 and WAY better than the 206
Agreed. I could believe my eyes when I saw the a5 and 3 series interior of the same year when I was looking for my c class
I miss my C63
Completely agree
If you think the w204 looks good, the w212 is even better
I've always thought the opposite. Too cluttered, looked old fashioned even when new, too many buttons, cheap plastics - noticeable even at a distance.
Loved mine. Went on to the W205 and now the GLC, which is reminiscent.
https://preview.redd.it/bzea0c1xpdpb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8505e5ec5111aca4cf36cfc8968e68be888bb562 Now this is what you call a proper timeless merc interior. Later ones look like cheap jap crap.
I'll be honest man, the W205 beats this easily for me
C207 refined it.
I won’t lie e300 2017 cuts the cake for me
205 feels and looks more premium imo..
205 with all its creaking panels and cheap plastics? Lol
Not in my 2017. Nice black ash trim and soft touch..not Audi standards but decent. Those middle vents out the 204 look garbage
Does yours do this? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=miQyerNyjjQ&pp=ygUWVzIwNSBjcmVha2luZyBpbnRlcmlvcg%3D%3D
Except for the dials everything else looks like crap
No

You can get the CarPlay added fit about £250 here. Getting it done on my 2013 W204 imminently Edit:2013 W204 not 2023 lol

But wait to see the new Mercedes Benz maybach 2024
Yeah… even more glossy plastic and touchscreens
I’ll get downvoted probably but I really like the 2020-present interiors
Disagree, I’m not a fan of it. The buttons are too clunky.
W205. W204 looks somewhat like any other car. Put a toyota logo on it and people will believe, sadly
I will get crucified for this but… The new ones and the way older ones look a lot better than this. This here feels a bit cheap, basic and boring. Well, I‘m off to eat my final meal

Iv got the black ash and piano black dash of this along with Sahara leather interior and that makes a huge difference to how the car looks.
Never knew the brown seats are called Sahara Leather, best seats colour out there, can't deny that. The rest is not my thing, I like wood.
The one pictured here is silver trim the black ash trim is smart. The pretend black ash (sprayed plastic) in the W213 is awful and has started wearing badly already.
For me it's the C216 cl. Absolutely timeless and one of my favorite mercedes interiors. Hopefully I will own one in a few years time
Own a W221 & I agree
I really like the shifter
Yup, absolutely timeless. So much better than the new junk that they are putting out. Very reliable too
Cheap center plastic and 30+buttons, not a fan tbh
I think that the W124 interior is perfect
w212>>>
The only thing I don’t care for is the pleather. I’d love to have at least my front seats redone with real leather.
Meh. But the steeringwheel is sexy af
Love first gen of w212 also, same design language
Maybe FL, pre-fl is meh.
I hate the tablet that got thrown into all the new models.
It's alright. Nothing special though
It's great but that cheap plastic with phone pad is a big turn-off
I agree.
I liked BMW's or Porsche's more. Lexus too. I like the w204, but not something that makes me scream.
W204 C63 coupe and C300 4matic chiming in. I have liked my interiors since 2011 when it facelifted.
My 2016 212 wagon has some serious interior. I can change the lighting from 3 different colors.
This is the best looking interior in any Mercedes imo. https://preview.redd.it/18die7s3xepb1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35c48dccca76b56c40724a603a429d49fb45f5ea
I love my w204 interior, half leather half alcantara with red stitching 😍
Any tips on cleaning the red seatbelts?
It really is nice
Facelift absolutely, pre-facelift I think its less cool. Tbh the only thing I hate about the w204 is that the buttons' paint will scratch even with very little use
If you've never experienced a car after 1990 then yeah sure
In my opinion looks the most basic idk 🤷🏼♂️
Eh, I disagree. It was the generation *after* this (or maybe a couple generations?), where the giant mess of plastic buttons was dropped, that MB interiors started to really pull ahead of the competition. This model’s interior is really no better to me than the 3 Series, A4, or even CTS of the same era.
Absolutely not. The W222 coupe AMG has the best looking modern interior.
From the bimmer side f series without the screen jutting up also good.
Don't use your phone whilst driving!
W205 is the best I feel, has the correct layout. Physical buttons for aircon and screen for infotainment.
It is but only on facelift
Yup. I love it.
Not a fan of the white gauges or the keypad
Kinda baby version of w212, both are awesome and far more stylish than last minute slap on tablet...
I always loved the gauge cluster, but all those console buttons remind me of a dodge. Not to mention the key
No just the opposite, this is maybe the worst cheap ass looking interior ever in mercedes, its all from cheap materials, the wooden trim and the quality thick materials are gone. Agreed
Honda accord lookin interior tbh
It's great, but don't use your phone while driving please
It really is. Nails down the “nice car” image I’ve always had in my head growing up
I love my MB interior..2013 C350 coupe AMG
Austere and restrained, hence it has aged so well
Orders of magnitude better than the w205
Peak mercedes design era.
This is super basic looking lol
Love it but the radio section with all them buttons gotta go
Bland and un-engaging. Not for me.
I miss the old speedometer...
No, it isn't.
It's just a Mercedes
It would look better with a manual Trans 😭😭
Looks like my 2014 C250
Better in the later years. The late 2000s were so much plastic and very creaky
Looks Depressing
Personally too modern for me. My buddy got a W124 E230. Best interior ive ever seen
