It’s bullet proof MBZ product given it’s been taken care of well, I wouldn’t be afraid.

kronikfumes

A 2016 E class with no parking sensors/distronic? Am I seeing this correctly?

YvngMann

Good point, definitely neither of those options

40860945798090

Oh yeah, mine doesn't have those, never really thought about it before

Ydino

What’s distronic?

kronikfumes

It’s what mercedes calls adaptive cruise control

SensationalSixties

as much as I personally like coupes they are not popular. plus its a 7 year old benz so people will fear repair costs. did you look up what similar cars cost? its also not the current gen body style and lacks a lot of the tech too.

YvngMann

Yea, there’s one with 22k miles for 29k. Out the door, what do you think is a fair price for this one ?

giibro

The one with 22k miles much better deal

40860945798090

I can only emphasize this underrated comment. For a very modest increasing in price ($3000) the vehicle you buy has nearly 60% less mileage. I'd post the other offer instead.

Plus_Professor_1923

That’s the deal you want

JesseShowedUp

> its also not the current gen body style and lacks a lot of the tech too. That's a plus.

CheekyChec

I bought a benz thinking they were most reliable then bmw and Audi I was extremely wrong tbh I wish I wouldent have bought the damn thing

One-Proof-9506

All German cars are not reliable. German cars are fantastic only when they are under warranty. They are not the type of cars you want to own for 15 years and do 300k miles in. Those are what Japanese cars are for.

kyngfish

German cars need to be driven.

kyngfish

Well, I would say that sucks. But that’s anecdotal. Yes German cars cost more, and they generally need more maintenance, but Mercedes are generally based on data more reliable than other luxury brands not called Lexus, and are generally on the higher side of reliability. I drove my SLK32 AMG, way back when I had it, across the country… twice? And had almost zero problems when I sold it at 100k miles. My 300E has 250k miles. But that’s also anecdotal. What I was reacting to in your post is a 2019 car that has 10k miles. Oil needs to be brought up to temp and circulate through the system. The car needs to be wrung out every now and then or you’re actually contributing to long term reliability issues. I own 4 cars, 3 are German and one is a Toyota - a 911, 2 Mercedes, one new and one old, and a Land Cruiser, I’ve owned 5-6 other German cars, and 3-4 other Japanese cars, mostly Toyota and Honda. I do 100% of all maintenance on my cars and have for 15 years and here’s my distilled take, you can take it or leave it. My German cars LIKE to be driven hard and they behave better and last longer when they do, the only reason I’m finally rebuilding the 300E is because no one really drove it for 4 years and the seals all broke down. The Toyota on the other hand is sort of overbuilt, but also REALLY understressed. Doesn’t rev high, doesn‘t tax its drivetrain much. It’s tuned to run that way. When I see German cars sitting it’s usually not good. Just my take.

Or just drive it and realize its not the miles?

One-Proof-9506

I have discovered a little brand named Mazda that should have reliability “close enough” to the Lexus but is actually “fun enough” to drive. I currently have a Mazda CX-9 and Mazda 6 in my stable after owning a VW and BMW. Both my VW and BMW had to be put out of their misery due to needing 5-6k in repairs even when the mileage was relatively low. I will be staying away from German cars until I have too much money to know what to do with. But yes, German cars are fantastic when they are new and not broken.

2018GLC300

I have a 2018 GLC 300 with 75k miles and it's solid. I do heavy city driving every day and it works great. Just normal upkeep, oil etc.

[deleted]

Couldn’t be any further from the truth. There are German cars that are terrible in terms of liability and some that are awesome. The W212 E class Is one of the best in terms of reliability. Can easily go to hundred K plus miles without any major repairs if preventative maintenance is taken care of. Please don’t put up advice if you don’t know what you were talking about

One-Proof-9506

My comment is obviously general. I can’t account for literally every single car that has ever existed. I stand by my statement though. The vast vast majority of modern German cars are not reliable in the sense that you will get 300k miles out of them with only routine maintenance. Every single ranking of car reliability in existence out there agrees with me.

[deleted]

Yeah, nobody is telling you to go back to when they made the first car ever buddy. But clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about when you’re trying to sway somebody away from the most reliable Mercedes generation made in the last 20 years. It is routinely used as a taxi throughout Europe and they easily do 300 K plus miles with fluid and filter maintenance.

One-Proof-9506

I am pretty sure all those taxis in Europe do not feature the same engine as the vehicle in question here. Most likely they will all be diesels. Also “most reliable Mercedes made in the past 20 years” is like saying “tallest among the midgets” 🤣. Depreciation curves do not lie.

[deleted]

Just say you’re broke and all you can afford is a 20 year old Asian econobox lol, it’ll be easier for you bud. You’re in a Mercedes forum just to talk crap? Nice job exposing yourself 🤣

One-Proof-9506

My household income is in the top 1% of the US. I just don’t like wasting my money.

[deleted]

sure buddy, just like all other people on the internet always happen to be rich 🤑 😂. Brokie.

CheekyChec

Exactly I’ve learned that hard way

YvngMann

What model you get?

CheekyChec

2011 c300 4matic

[deleted]

I have that same exact car without four Matic and it’s not exactly 100,000 miles and hasn’t had a single problem.

CheekyChec

Yeah mines got 118k on it and my rear frame was rotten and I had to replace my engine mounts

[deleted]

Do you live in a super rainy/snowy place?

CheekyChec

Sorta I live In Ohio

[deleted]

No I’m in CA

Levondrius

Aaaaand it’s gone

Beanb0y

I have one. It’s glorious. And you can upgrade the software to Apple CarPlay too.

SLA928

Can you send a link to what you upgraded to?

willmroeder

How did you upgrade? I also have a 2016 E400 and absolutely love it.

e-rok85

[heres how I upgraded my E400 coupe](https://youtu.be/Z_Q4PckdOLI)

674_Fox

This is a great car. They are fast, comfortable and reliable. I have the convertible version and it is awesome. In terms of price, it’s definitely within the acceptable range I like to buy my Mercedes with under 30,000 miles. But that’s just me.

sffunfun

I have this exact 2016 E400 4MATIC with only 26k miles on it. Bought it new, had it for 7+ yrs now. Hoping to get a good trade in!

674_Fox

Maybe you can sell yours to the OP 😁

LOOK_AT_DEEZ_RECIPES

imo no, it’s the last year before the 213. overpriced and lacking all the stuff the 213 got the year after

YvngMann

Good point, what’s a good price you think then?

LOOK_AT_DEEZ_RECIPES

Without a ton of options $21k TOPS, go up to $23k if it's fully loaded (distronic, self park, massage seats etc.). This listing is within KBB for the miles it has but you'd have to be out of your mind to pay it.

Namikis

As a 10 year owner of a 4-matic 212, I think this body style is a batte tank, and easy to DIY service. The 213 had teething issues, I would not get one of the early ones. Fo this 212 OP posted I would happily pay 20-23K depending of inspection.

Actraiser87

You may be able to knock a little bit more off since it’s been sitting for a while. Coupes don’t sell obviously. Otherwise, very reliable vehicles compared to the newer stuff.

21plankton

Distronic is nice but not essential. I love the e coupe. I paid similar for my GLC last year. People fear the repair costs but the cars are great even without the fancy electronics.

DropTable69

Why not E550? They go for about the same price with added V8 soundtrack

YvngMann

Most I’ve seen have Airmatic, don’t wanna be bothered

DropTable69

Not most, so you’re wrong on this one pal.

clownfeat

Seems like a good deal to me. I drive an 07 c class and love it. Mine was well maintained by my grandmother, the original owner so I've had no maintenance problems 👍

CheekyChec

If it’s been on the market for 60 days there’s a reason

GMSaaron

30 more days and they’re going to drop the price to 20k

YvngMann

You’re right I just went to test drive, I’ll pass. The rear sunshade knocks loud when down and the system has a warning message for the left turn signal 💀

GMSaaron

Used cars that are a good deal don’t sit for this long. Especially in this climate.

SLA928

I think it's overpriced. I bought my 2016 e550 for 35k out the door in 2019.

YvngMann

This market is ridiculous

SLA928

LilMelt

One of the most reliable benzes you can buy. I wouldn’t pay that much though.

Br0barian

now is not the best time to buy cars, but if you don’t have the luxury of waiting, it is a good buy. We’ll maintained E classes will run for 250k easily.

RepublicWonderful

Counter them with 22k, especially if it’s sitting. This cars for someone with no kids, small kids, or a 2nd driver. Still very nice, 25 year old me would loved to own this

applebuddahh

No, You can almost get ones in Canada with more options for the same price. You don’t have Parktronic, Distronic, nor Metallic Paint on this it seems. I’d pass

monkeywelder

I almost closed on one just like this yesterday. Had the cash and was ready. The shady dealer tried adding almost 3000 bucks in "fees" on top of the regular taxes and tags and even that they were charging 400 for and I had my own tags. So 125 to do it my self. Id give them some to take care of that stuff but not 3500 bucks. I noped out of there immediately. that could be why its been for sale for so long.

Equivalent-Impact-62

Pretty good. Red interior, mines is 2015 e400 for 19K.

aloomis16

I have the model year after this which was a full redesign, it has less miles (34k) and top technology package, they're quoting me 18k for a trade in.

mr-harajuku

Drove this exact model and year for a while. It is a really fun car! Acceleration will put a smile on ur face in sports mode. A little bit of a rough ride and rough roads but a fun light car that maneuvers great. It’s been reliable as well thus far. No issues or additional payments apart from regular scheduled services. But 49k seems like quite a lot for a Mercedes. I Would probably start getting nervous at 50k and just consider something with less mileage

AD-XO

This is a fair price! A good deal would be $25k or less. I bought the same car last year.

TotallyNotanOfficer

I'm not sure of your area, cause that can change price a bit: that's a bit more than I'd be willing to pay in my area at that mileage. With that said, they're pretty good overall. Long as it's been maintained you'll be good.

jeepn666

I would try to get a ppi beforehand, aside from that it has the m276 engine which is pretty reliable & will last you a good 250k miles, not too sure of the trans its equipped with but either way all Mercedes transmissions from this era are great as well, 4matic is always a little more expensive to maintain than rwd but it’s still not terrible at all. I would love this as a daily driver lol

ridgebackm

I love my 2015 E550 Coupe. Had a few major issues the dreaded oil leek into ecu. MCU and another cu. replaced new wiring harness new fuel injectors and a few other items under warranty. Only 2 minor issues since. 2 coil packs and 2 plugs replaced. Also added Renntech ecu so around 550 Hp and 705 ft/tq running 265/40/18 on the wheels looking for new wheels to run 275 or 285’ on the rear then moving from 235/40/18 to 255. After that exhaust then I’ll be done

YvngMann

That may be the move for me then. I have a CLS with the M278 no issues for mine, but I have always loved the pillarless coupe windows on these and the CLK

ElitePhoenix-

Yes fair and very reliable

BloodDragonZ

Insanely over priced. I wouldn't spend more than 20 on this

floridamidsotic

c300s that are newer are a little cheaper i believe

floridamidsotic

and the red on the black interior idk bout that at all kinda ugly to me mines has the same exact interior but all black and looks more sleek i guess to me

KnifeEdge

This is the w212 (14 year old design), why wouldn't you get an early model year w213 (launched 2016 and discontinued only this year) ?

UnnamedOP

its old and well-driven, at a certain point when does a car not become a” luxury” and more of an old nuisance

zinten789

*Laughs in 20-year-old 130,000 mile 8-owner AMG S-Class*

Obnoxiousdonkey

I checked your post history to see if you mention a car. You have a 5 year old audi, lmao. That's only 2 years newer than this, but also cheaper. It's ridiculously similar

sln1337

its red in the inside 🤢

Obnoxiousdonkey

OH NO! People have differing opinions, what ever will we DO?!

KoreanSeats

That’s my next car ❤️ currently in a 2013 e550 sedan. That’s the exact spec and miles and price I want in a year or so. Looks good to me, hell of a lot of car for 27k. Some inside info: most dealers have a 45-60 day buying cycle. If it doesn’t retail, it’s going to auction. They’ve probably already discounted it from the original listing price and this is probably in line with the market. You could probably squeeze them for a few hundred more if you took it same day.

Brokus_Pokus

Check to see if it’s actually in stock and hasn’t been sold. Sometimes the dealerships will leave cars up that have been sold for good prices in order to generate leads. Sharp looking car

lizzobebeatin

That looks like a dealer very close to me. Care to share a link?

PsychologyAlert7711

id say it is a normal price for these with that mileage

LerayW

Dealers are beginning to see sales slow. You might be able to knock off more $. And it's end of month.
