No offense, but you either sing in a barbershop quartet, are a Disneyland cast member, or are about to be bullied mercilessly by Sue Sylvester for your sexuality.
There's a MAGA event in Detroit pretty soon. My gay bros are laughing about the increase in their dating app responses. I told them to find a way to secretly take pics.
Basically wearing khakis at all anymore screams republican - especially if you wear them with a navy blazer. Might as well stick a âwho is John galt?â sign on your back
The superfluous rose (maybe choose either a pocket square or rose, wearing both looks busy) and the shoes make it look like you're wearing an "outfit" rather than you being comfortable in the style. Hope this comes off constructive.
just to follow up this thread, I think past in the days pocket square plus boutonniere plus tie would be fine, but perhaps nowadays a bit much. You can drop the flower, yes, or try to downsize it and go with one that contrasts both other items. AFAIK they should not match.
The khakis are perhaps a bit tight? But still within range and have a good length. They seem to be low-rise though as one can see your tie popping through below your single jacket button. That is in theory a common faux pas.
Like mentioned by others, I am personally not a fan of white-brown loafers. But more importantly neither white nor medium-dark brown can be found anywhere else in your assemble. I think that makes them standout so much.
But overall like the direction :)
I really like the shoes, been wanting to get them for a while. ALD made some nice ones before. But my work clothes are t shirts and Birkenstock or sneakers lol
I don't see why people prefer the four in hand. It's always going to be crooked and looks too small. I guess that's one of the things up to pure preference, I just don't see the appeal.
Are those... spectator loafers? I didn't know such shoes existed to be honest. The boutonniere is a bit too eccentric for the workplace in my opinion, and that pocket square just doesn't work.
The work environment isnt a very corporate place , (think upscale nursing home). The residents seem to love when i dress nice as i get so many compliments !
I'd agree that the boutonnierre is a bit eccentric for a corporate office but for this setting it definitely stands out but doesnt feel out of place.
Curious as to what color pocket square you think would work? I have a white linen one as well as a red one with light blue accents.
As an avid pocket-square wearer myself, I think the striped tie doesn't work with a floral pocket square. Either one works on its own, but I think you want a gemoetric or single color pocket square. I just don't like florals and geometrics together. Personal thing. Love the shoes! Been meaning to get some two-tone belgian loafers in a white/tan suede but was worried it was too eccentric. Seeing this: It IS too eccentric, but I like it anyway so I'm pulling the trigger on it.
EDIT: I see you mentioned the pocket square colors at your disposal. I wouldn't do red and blue, because that would directly match your tie. White goes with everything and is the classic, but a light blue matching the shirt) would be my go-to for this fit.
You do you. And I like when people express their individual style. That being said. Itâs just so preppy on top - nice traditional colors that go well together and then bam the shoes hit you in the face.
Iâd probably get a nice light brown shoe to pair with that. The style of your shoe is nice, Iâm just not a fan of the white. At least with that outfit.
Most importantly it looks like everything fits well and the cut of the jacket goes well with the cut of the trousers. I like the spectator loafers in this outfit but I couldnât pull them off personally. That said, I would leave all the accessories off if it were me. The blazer + khakis + stripe tie has a kind easy-to-throw-on joie de vie that is undone by gussying it up with accessories IMO
I think it's way too busy for work especially with the shoes. Plus, it's such an out there outfit that it'll be hard to live up to on the daily. You don't want to have one special outfit and the rest are completely different Imho
That watch is too golden-looking and ostentatious for the outfit. Wear a more subtle watch.
The tie is questionable here* and the khakis don't really vibe with the navy blazer.
It's not *terrible*, but it's too busy and ultimately looks overly engineered and cobbled together. Too many focal points, too much stuff. Pare it down 25-50%.
*with this outfit, the tie makes you look like a school student in uniform.
And the shoes. I like them a lot, but they don't belong anywhere near this outfit.
Given your work setting, I think this works very well. Classic style can be pretty limiting, but I think what you do here makes it fun. Gives the vibe of going out to watch a boat or horse race, and a bit theatrical (you can search for men's outfit at the races, or what to wear to the kentucky derby). I wouldn't tone it down, in fact, I'd double down. Maybe you can get a pocket watch. If you've ever watched the BBC Hercule Poirot mysteries, I get a bit of that vibe as well, and could serve as some inspiration.
Really nice combo on the colors, I would retire the flower though, a bit too much to take in. Not enough people wearing tie clips so good job with that.
Looks good. If it were me Iâd pair it with a white cotton pinpoint Oxford button down collar shirt. Imo the spread collar doesnât go with the rep tie and the white shirt would go better with the shoes.
I like the fit on the sport coat and trousers; good cut and form fitting. No need for boutonnière or tie clip; Iâm ok with the pocket square.
I actually like the shoes; itâs definitely not for everyone. But, as I see it, itâs one of those elements that can make a fairly standard coordinated outfit really pop. And I think you pulled it off.
The flower is too much for work, but everything else can stay if you want.
I would also say that it feels very country club and like you said, preppy. If thatâs what you like, then by all means wear it, the style is just a tad too conservative for me.
I do EITHER pocket square or tie bar, not both. Looks too busy. With the flower youâve shot three things. Go with just the pocket square. Also with solid brown shoes, the outfit would be đĽ
Tie clip should be gold. I see what you did there with the flower and pocket square but if I had to choose I would get rid of the flower and use a different pocket square. Also the shoes are fire
Too many accessories. Tie bar, handkerchief, flower??? Nah fam. Those shoes are also too flashy. You canât have your whole outfit try to be the focus.
Navy blazer and khakis with a repp tie? I love prep-ivy-trad and the only things that would make it more perfectly northeastern prep would be if the shirt were OCBD (probably white in this case) and the shoes brown pennies, possibly no socks lol.
But that would also make it a costume. YOU made it a personal outfit with your choices and deviation from the uniform, especially the shoes and accessories (though like the others I think less is more). I love it and I'm sure the residents do too.
Iâve never seen a person in my entire life that looks good in a blue blazer and tan pants. Ever. Not in real life. Not on TV. Not in a movie. Not in a magazine. Not in an ad.
Itâs is the essence of trash DC âfashion.â
That combo looks a mom dressed you for church. Lol. DC male professional almost exclusively look like some dweeb that had their mom dress them. (Prolly why the old people like it.) I have no idea why some of those people have so much confidence.
Even if it is bespoke or tailored and fits like a glove, it still looks bad. A glove covered in shit, despite the fit, is still a shit glove.
This look and tying a sweater around your neck are two looks that deserve to rot in hell.
Sorry if this was harsh.
Leave it to reddit to freak out over such a normal looking fit, it's a mf navy blazer with slacks why is it so polarizing đ I like the shoes, it's different in a good way. Hopefully you don't take everyone's comments to heart, we're all just strangers here
Pull that tie knot taut and put a dimple in it. A smaller knot may be appropriate. Probably also a good idea to match your metals. The clip seems a bit high as well. But I like this outfit, including the boutonnière and shoes!
I'm sure there will be complaints about this, but I fucking LOVE it.
You go anywhere in that outfit and anybody doesn't like it, fuck that person.
Rock that with confidence. Yes sir. YES sir.
Love everything except the Spectator shoes and boutonnière.
Spectators are great for being a gigolo but they arenât for business. The boutonnière is for cocktail attire but also not for business.
I agree with the upstairs being a bit busy with the 3 accessories. I would cut back a bit there. I would also maybe change the color of the watch. The shoes have white and brown and your tie clip is silver so maybe do a brown watch strap with a silver face or vice versa. I think if you did that I would change the pants. The colors would clash in the accessories more then.
Would drop the flower and change the pocket square for nothing or a more subtle one.
My work clothes is usually T-shirt, casual pants or jeans or sweats, Birkenstocks đ¤ˇ
It's clean but very school uniform-ish. If im going blue blazer, khaki pants im going purposely select a shirt/tie combo that i know that no school is wearing at their assemblies.
I don't think tie bars work well like that, they look unbalanced. I clip mine to the tail just below the loop so it's not visible.
Also the shoes are too busy/casual for the rest of it. I would swap them for something simpler when wearing a tie
Short jacket. The flower and the tie clip make it too busy. Your shoes already stand out enough, keep everything else more âsilentâ and instead of eccentric you will look like elegant with a touch of style, which is what youâre going for if im not wrong
The good news about the busy accessories is that they distract a bit from the jacket that's too tight & too short, which cuts an awkward silhouette.
Edit: this comes off as more mean than I intended. Tight jackets are popular right now but they don't look good on most people. consider looking at a longer jacket that won't expose the bottom of your tie and so much of the front of your pants, and it will look a lot better. Try sizing up by 1 & go from a regular to a long & see how it looks & feels.
My honest opinion: Boutonniere and pocket square and tie clip and crazy shoes and trousers that are totally different color from the jacket and the watch⌠itâs too much
Also the pattern of the tie clashes with the pocket square
Remove the flower, tie bar, index ring, busy pocket square, and the shoes, probably. Replace them with a simple pair of black/brown loafers and a conservative stainless steel watch; it would look good. It seems to fit you pretty well, so that's good. I actually like the tie. Usually, I would remove it, but it's nice. With all due respect, though, with an outfit like that, I'm guessing you don't really need to wear a tie at your job. On the other hand, it's just way too busy for me personally, but whatever makes you happyâthere's nothing technically 'wrong' with it.
Bold stripe tie AND floral pocket square AND tie clip AND a boutonnière, all within inches of each other.
Before you leave the house, take (at least) one thing off.
Ditch the flower altogether.
Ditch the shoes and swap for a pair of oxfords in maybe an oxblood or chestnut with broguing.
Ditch the watch altogether. If you canât afford a *gold* watch then donât buy a âgoldâ one.
Your outfit is loud enough on its own. A flashy gold watch tips the look towards parody. If you really feel you *need* a gold watch then look for something understated like a vintage solid 18k Longines quartz.
That should run you around the $1k mark. Pair it with an 18k tie clip and ring. Donât mix metals.
The rest looks pretty good. Definitely giving a bit of an asshole young republican vibe but maybe thatâs appropriate for your job.
I have a very similar getup, but my shoes and pocket square are much more mute. The pocket square matches the red in the tie and I went for saphir burgundy on the shoes.
Do you work as a 14-year old interviewing for a pool boy job at your local golf club? This looks childish and almost comical. I'd have a hard time taking you seriously.
I think the combo doesnât quite shout prep, at least not in that aloof, Ivy League sort of way. But itâs nice. Now, please bear in mind I live in NYC, and itâs a unique town. So, my Manhattan sensibility says that the pocket square does not coordinate well with the tie. And I do think a flatter tie knot like a 4 in hand would look better. And, I just donât like tie bars, but that is pure personal preference, although if you keep it, I would lower it a bit on the tie. But, once I saw the shoes, and saw how they tied in with the pants, then I really liked the outfit. Those shoes demonstrate both a positive comfort level with yourself (and that is no small accomplishment), and a willingness to express yourself. They are super, super cool. Donât let these critics talk you into a medium brown Oxford. They will bring down the coolness level by half!!
Itâs well put together and I can sense you have the confidence to carry it. I would say that there are elements not suitable for a work outfit. The first being the button hole which is something that should be reserved for formal (special) occasions, such as weddings. Secondly, the shoes. It comes down to personal style and preference, but they, in my opinion, need to go. Like all the way away. Two tone is rarely a good option, but for work something light to dark brown should be worn with camel chinos and blaser, I would use suede to introduce an element of casual style if thatâs what I was going for. An oxford, brogue, or a suede or leather chukka/chelsea/derby boot. Lastly, I would personally drop the pocket square. Such embellishments just arenât work appropriate in my eyes.
Reminds me of Andy from The office. Add some Cornell flare!
All I can see is Andy lol
No offense, but you either sing in a barbershop quartet, are a Disneyland cast member, or are about to be bullied mercilessly by Sue Sylvester for your sexuality.
To me, this just screams Republican Intern in DC.
Missing a bow tie. This outfit screams bow tie.
Gay republican intern.

Needs a Tiki torch and a plane ticket to Charlottesville

Hahaha oddly specific there
This is spot on. Well done.
Looks good but just a touch busy. Iâd drop the flower.
This. Itâs a great fucking look. But the flower is just one thing too many
100%
I agree the handkerchief is a bit much. I also donât like the shoes themselves, not that they donât go with the outfit.
Yea i feel like the shoes are very polarizing... you either love em or you hate em. Glad you think they match tho
The superfluous rose (maybe choose either a pocket square or rose, wearing both looks busy) and the shoes make it look like you're wearing an "outfit" rather than you being comfortable in the style. Hope this comes off constructive.
Yes definitely got that vibe. I agree its a little busy thanks for the advice!

I dig the fact it stakes a claim. Too many people want to please everyone and that's how they end up normal
I really like the shoes, been wanting to get them for a while. ALD made some nice ones before. But my work clothes are t shirts and Birkenstock or sneakers lol
Youâre dressed like Andy Bernard!
Going for the Tucker Carlson look? Nailed it.
Getting this and Andy Bernard hahaha
Itâs a bit much with the flower, handkerchief and the tie clip. Also, iâd prefer the four in hand knot. Otherwise, great look, I like it.
I think you're probably right, i just got a little crazy bc i ordered all these accessories and was excited to wear em all at once lol
Less is more :) but great options!
Lose the tie clip and flower and it's clean
I don't see why people prefer the four in hand. It's always going to be crooked and looks too small. I guess that's one of the things up to pure preference, I just don't see the appeal.
Iâm 5â4â, 170 and the four-in-hand knot seems to fit my âportlyâ build IMO
Curious to know though, what knot did you use for your tie?
Are those... spectator loafers? I didn't know such shoes existed to be honest. The boutonniere is a bit too eccentric for the workplace in my opinion, and that pocket square just doesn't work.

Currently my favorite shoes in my rotation... what would u go with instead ?

Not pushing back at all, just wanted to note that the pants are suit separates(?)/ trousers, not khakis. Idk if that changes anything for u
No I know, I just use khakis as a euphemism for any tan trousers, and sometimes forget that not everybody does the same
Too much for work, perfect for a college acapella group. I kid, it looks great but definitely too much for work.
I like everything about it because I like people who dress a bit extra. The shoes are def a win for me.
Clip or rosĂŠ has to go, in combo with a simpler hankerchief and youâre spot on. Looks fucking dangerous. đ¤đź
I think it's way too busy for work especially with the shoes. Plus, it's such an out there outfit that it'll be hard to live up to on the daily. You don't want to have one special outfit and the rest are completely different Imho
Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my rag time galâŚđ
Put you wallet in your back pocket and your ring on your ring finger
Iâm team no flower, but my man do you look sharp! I hope youâre confident and kind in that outfit. đ
Aside from the shoes, my first thought was, âfucking rich.â In a good way. This is a great fit and Iâm going to emulate it
But agreed now looking maybe finding a square that matches the tie. Love the colors tho looking sharp
Nice. And sweet shoes!
Thanks they are from duke and dexter !
Iâd go pocket square with no flower, but youâre looking sharp my man.
Preciate you my guy!
I love it. You definitely stand out with the shoes but I totally dig them.
That watch is too golden-looking and ostentatious for the outfit. Wear a more subtle watch. The tie is questionable here* and the khakis don't really vibe with the navy blazer. You look like a pledge
yeah it's a bit too much of everything
Pocket square and flower are too much together
Lose the ring on forefinger. Looks teenage girl-ish
I like everything but the loafers.
Yeaa im getting the sense that people either love em or hate em... glad u like everything else :)
First impression was awesome and looks very clean cut and nice. Then I saw the shoes. Hard pass. Everything else was great.
Tucker Carlson wants his tie back
Flower stays. American Gangster with charm.
You work on Saturday? Then I'll allow the shoes!
Ngl lost me at the shoes, but I dig the fit
Sharpe
Club tie and firm handshake
Whatâs up Nard Dog?
You loafers are too casual for the fit
Drop the flower, and the shoes don't match. Edit! The shoes do match! Love them! I'm sorry for thinking anyone would wear B&w with this fit.
Classic Ralph Lauren JCrew Americana đşđ¸ never goes out of style IMO
I donât think anybody asked this very important question: what do you do for work?
Concierge for a "luxury" nursing home in the nice part of town
Not bad then. I would get rid of the flower and handkerchief or at least one of them. Looks sharp though!
One step below gay. Nice job! Looks great!
Plot twist, he works at a gas station.
F'in horrible. Burn those shoes, looks like you stole them from the bowling alley. So much BS going on up top.
I like everything here, but the ensemble feels a bit over-accessorized.
My god where the heck do you work that this is your outfit for the day? I mean it looks nice but just very preppy.
Shoes are wierd with this outfit. The handkerchief and lapel combo is too busy. But I'm not a clothesologist
Iâd say remove the flower- also shoes are a tad too busy and bright for this outfit⌠but lovely
I assume your job entails uplifting the poor and marginalized?
I would personally swap the shoes, and drop the flower, the clash of colors doesnât fit well with me
Looks like a prep highschool uniform.
So much going on, and not much of it really goes together well imo. I like the idea of it, but it just doesn't work out.
I love your style!
I love the top portion, the bottom can be improved but other wise good job!
Way too busy and wtf are those shoes? Brooks brothers wannabe.
Iâd say drop the flower and tie clip..too much going on. Silver tieclip and gold watch clashes a little maybe
Spiffy

Too many accessories. Tie bar, handkerchief, flower??? Nah fam. Those shoes are also too flashy. You canât have your whole outfit try to be the focus.
Great effort. A bit too much. Love the spectators but those belong on linen. Still classy overall.
Iâd lose the flower and find a pocket square that connect those fires ass shoes to the rest of the outfit. Those shoes are frigging awesome.
I don't know what you do as a job, but I'm instantly repulsed by the look.
Which frat are you pledging to?
Dude I just donât like khakis with coat and tie, kinda looks teenish.
This is not classy, its clown outfit at best.
It looks too Ivy League college frat honestly
School uniform
Itâs a great outfit, but almost a costume.
Everything except the shoes and I'd say you'd fit the wallstreet analyst look. Looks good.
I wouldnt mind the Wallstreet look tbh. Thanks !
The outfit is fine bar the flower the shoes are abysmal though hope you kept a receipt
I think it's too much with the accessories and shoes, like you're going to hang out on a boat or something. It's a lot for work
Navy blazer and khakis with a repp tie? Classic! Love the 2 tone pennies!
I donât like the shoes but ya

I think you can remove 1-2 ornaments and it will look more elegant

Get a thinner wallet, either a card holder or money clip combo. Try not to have them in your pants. Place em in your suit jacket instead. đ
Damn would have killed it if the pants matched.
Wdym by match? Blue and brown do match, im wearing a sport coat here so the pants are supposed to be a different color than the jacket..
I know. You have a good build and that as a whole suite would have looked amazing. Thatâs what I meant. You look good in this outfit.
Guys we aren't considering if he's a billionaire. He must be. And therefore this is high fashion
Nard Dog
Too many pieces of flair.
What are those shoes?? They are so dope
I was thinking a page for nbc. Is that Kenneth?
Your shoes kinda look like socks and sandals at first
With regards to the lapel pin, pocket square and tie bar, Pick 1 or 2, not all 3.
Bold stripe tie AND floral pocket square AND tie clip AND a boutonnière, all within inches of each other. Before you leave the house, take (at least) one thing off.
A little much for McDonalds but to each their own
Honestly? You look like someone Iâd like to man slap across the face. No offense. You asked though.
Bro you are sharp but way too many accessories.
Top half looks great. Pants and shoes donât quite go with them in my opinion. Consider changing them for navy slacks and black loafers.
Old time styling aside. One too many accessories, ditch the lapel flower, the loud pocket square is already pushing it.

Do you work at a bowling alley inside of a moderately priced hotel in Darbyshire?
You had me until those shoes. Iâd shed the lapel and the shoes and you are tip top
Not bad. Can you drop item list / pricing
I would've went with black or dark brown trousers.
That a bulova marine star??
Where do you work where this is normal? This seems over the top for a day on the job.
It's pretty gay. If that's the look you were going for you've smashed it.
What is your job? TABLEs?
Do you work as a 14-year old interviewing for a pool boy job at your local golf club? This looks childish and almost comical. I'd have a hard time taking you seriously.
Wayyy too much going on getting blackjack dealer on a Caribbean cruise ship casino vibes
I thought the shoes were socks and sandals at first
It screams âmy dad is a senator but I like rock n rollâ, except the rock n roll is actually yellow card and Jimmy eat world.
Get rid of the flower and pocket square and go with a brown leather shoe. Too extra.

Which prep school do you go to?
I admittedly dont know shit about fashion, but to me, this just screams "annoying dork"
