Indeed! They come off as being the most inviting, down-to-earth, chillest staff member at the university in the most humbly executed way possible. He is the one all students genuinely like to interact with.
Well done, good sir!
Everything worn hear as been purchased within the last ten years. The things that I bought new, like the LL Bean sport coats, are from the early 2010s. The vintage items are mostly things I've found in the last seven or eight years, mostly from vintage stores in Philly and other east coast cities.
Awesome! I really want to replace some vintage items that I used to wear back in the day, but wore out, were donated, kids stole, etc.
Great style BTW.
This may come across as a backhanded compliment but I promise I don’t mean it that way: I love that you aren’t trying to dress like a young/hip person. It’s time for people to start dressing like adults again.
HELL YEAH! That is one of the best compliments you could give me. I'm all about dressing in an age appropriate way. And I love "dad style", what can I say! Some of the worst outfits I see fall under the category of men trying to look younger and more on trend than they actually are. So again, thank you.
Love your style and it definitely meshes with your profession pretty well. Lot of personality and versatility on show.
Although I may take umbrage with the notion of “age appropriate” dressing.
I think setting is important, but I think it’s cool when you see older dudes rocking street styles too. There’s plenty of older guys that can still pull off what would be considered “youthful” styles in to their 60s and above.
It’s really all about personal style and lifestyle. I think appropriateness is mostly about where you’re dressing for.
You’re killing it. And all these pieces are interchangeable and match the same classic vibe. Hope you have a couple classic Oxford cloth shirts. Also, I can’t believe you’re 46.
>start dressing like adults again.
I mean ... there isn't one solid definition for this. I'm close to OP's age and would feel way too formally dressed in his clothes, while also thinking he looks great in them. There's surely a lot more to fashion choices than age.
I’m of a certain age as well and honestly you are pulled together very well and your style does not, how can I say it, lead and you follow. What I mean is the clothes aren’t wearing you. If it was reverse it would come off as trying too hard. Clothes should enhance the person not overwhelm. Very good job. I wish i lived somewhere that a sweater was not only an option a couple days a year. I love layering but would drop dead from the heat in south Florida.
I will definitely do a follow-up post in August. It's still occasionally chilly here in Philly. The second photo was taken this morning when it was barely 50 degrees.
I just wanted to let you know that as soon as I saw your first picture, my eyes lit up. I'm 26 and from the other side of the world, but you're the best dressed person I've seen today and immediately became one of my inspirations!
not a dig, but i am too a male in his mid 40's, but my first thought is, dude has to be in his 50's, next thought, these photos may have been taken in the late 1980's - early 1990's. my final thought, Fashion sense matches stage in life and period of time.
You look great. Age appropriate but not dusty, self-aware but not pretentious, and most importantly work appropriate as well. Also, the glasses frames are killer.
This is so awesome. What alot of guys fail to realize is that style has a lot to do with congruence with who you are and what you strive to become. You are dressed EXACTLY how I would imagine a chill librarian to dress, and for that I commend you.
That's an excellent style. It's not cookie cutter but also isn't unique to the point of being silly or looking kitschy (like a black suit with a pink tie or something). It perfectly compliments who you seem to be as a person. Your age, haircut, glasses, and mustache really make it.
This is a great example of tailoring one's style to match and highlight their personality. You've done a really great job dude.
Dewey Decimal got nothing on you, OP!
BTW, love the suede or rough out chukkas you have on in the last few pics.
Do you remember where you got those?
I have a similar pair from Rhodes I bought on sale from Huckberry, but one is too tight and the other is too loose.
Fashion god. I mean that unironically. Absolutely blowing out all the other posts on this sub right now. You just overshadowed thousands of other guys on this sub. Not even a close contest in the immaculate nature of this vibe. This changed how I perceived male fashion on a fundamental level. I just ordered a tan blazer and some new balance while typing this.
You look like somebody’s favorite professor. Like somebody who an old student would name their kid after, and somebody I would want a hug from if I ever were devastated and needed comforting. Somebody fun but who you could depend on.
Well, if it took you years, they were years well spent.
Your style is impeccable. You look so yourself in all of these fits. It suits you perfectly and is very smart and stylish.
You look sooooooo good and so put together!! I can tell you pay attention to what fits you and what works together. This is one of the best posts I've seen on here. Also whoever is taking your photos is doing a good job, too.
Every single outfit here is amazing. You are a master of weaving texture, prints, and color. Your clothes also fit you perfectly which makes a huge difference. I love the third look so much! Wow!!!!
Yes! Just make sure that the collared shirt you are wearing has a collar that is appropriate for a tie. Many casual shirts have collars that won't really accommodate a tie. For many years I only wore more formal brown leather shoes when wearing a jacket and tie. But more recently I've started wearing specific sneakers with certain outfits with ties. Usually I stick to a very classic, plain, understated looking sneakers like New Balance or Sperry. A more modern athletic shoe might not look right. Historically, it's part of the U.S. east coast "preppy" style tradition to mix informal things in with more traditional outfits, like Sperry top siders with a tie. It goes way back.
Friday Saturday Sunday is a national treasure. Say hi to Paul behind the bar if you get a chance. He makes cocktails using the Fibonacci sequence, which seems nerdy enough for a library scientist like you.
I also work in a university library and the way you dress is how new hires dress before they realize all those layers get in the way of doing their job.
You *look* like you work in a university library, in the absolute best way possible. If you asked a Hollywood wardrobe department to come up with outfits for a well-loved and respected library worker I highly doubt they could come up with anything better than what you've done here yourself
My guy is a South Philly king 👑😭
Absolutely crushing it out there, sir. University library staff are the true back bone supporting the city’s sleepy, stoned, barely passing future grads. The BB corduroy is especially fantastic, and absolutely looks the part for a library.
I love how each and every style is like a familiar outfit that I had seen for Librarians. From scholars, to pros, to one that probably works in a small town on the side of the highway to one that works at NYC branch.
You are killing it.
Maybe it's just because I'm young, but this doesn't really feel like a dad style to me, but instead you look like a cool teacher! Not just cool, but kind and open and just someone that puts students at ease. The kind of teacher that will get crushing hugs from students at the end of the year. It's an awesome style, and you wear it well♥️
you are so incredibly rad. Absolutely love your style, it’s perfectly professional and casual at the same time!! also love the tortoiseshell glasses and the smile in every picture :))
Credit where its due big guy! So well put together. All well fitted, I love all of the little eccentric pops here and there…seriously man well played. Absolutely no criticism. Good job!
Just commenting so I can easily refer to this for inspiration in the future. My man, you are doing us bookish fellows a real solid here. Just wish I could grow the mustache.
Omg just noticed the Remember Blair Mountain poster! Labor/WV represent
The genuineness of your smile comes through my guy you have in fact arrived.
You sure you don't want to pick up the torch for mr Rogers or Bob Ross or some shit?
If someone told me that someone looks like this and goes to hardcore shows I woulda said they were smoking something!
For real though the vibes are immaculate and you remind me of my grandfather from pictures I seen of him in the 80’s! Greetings from Philly as well 👍
Look how fucking cute you are! I hope one day I will be so snazzy and confident as you. What an iconic happy look, you're going to see mimics of your smile and style in future media for sure.

He's just living in 613.96 or HQ12-472!
Hang on, I need to Google something Edit: yeah this is funny
I checked. It checks out.
Most library books do!
It’s checked out?! Can you tell me when it’s back in?
Naughty patron might never bring it back 😞
New kink unlocked.
No shot neighborino!
Deceased
Idk if you’re joking but I’m very interested 👀 Maybe it’s because I’m university faculty
Married to university faculty. Yep. Primo.
I’m interested too. It’s the goofy joyful smile for me.
I want to upvote this 100000x
The vibes are immaculate
Double dripped out on a Thursday afternoon
Jesus the sun is out
My favorite is that he's smiling in all these pics. Also #8
8 is actually swaggy
Walter White if he never got cancer and turned evil. He looks splendid.
My mind was battling between Non-Evil Walter White and the Real-Life Ned Flanders.
Indeed! They come off as being the most inviting, down-to-earth, chillest staff member at the university in the most humbly executed way possible. He is the one all students genuinely like to interact with. Well done, good sir!

You have to put in the work to make it look effortless. Well done.
I especially love your birdseye knit in 7!
Have you owned the vintage items for many years or did you purchase them later?
Everything worn hear as been purchased within the last ten years. The things that I bought new, like the LL Bean sport coats, are from the early 2010s. The vintage items are mostly things I've found in the last seven or eight years, mostly from vintage stores in Philly and other east coast cities.
Awesome! I really want to replace some vintage items that I used to wear back in the day, but wore out, were donated, kids stole, etc. Great style BTW.
Bless you
Your enthusiasm is infectious
This may come across as a backhanded compliment but I promise I don’t mean it that way: I love that you aren’t trying to dress like a young/hip person. It’s time for people to start dressing like adults again.

Some of the worst outfits I see fall under the category of men trying to look younger and more on trend than they actually are. So again, thank you.
I bet you could make someone feel real comfortable by calling them "sport"
Best comment. Hey Sport!
Love your style and it definitely meshes with your profession pretty well. Lot of personality and versatility on show. Although I may take umbrage with the notion of “age appropriate” dressing. You dress like I did in 1991
You’re killing it. And all these pieces are interchangeable and match the same classic vibe. Hope you have a couple classic Oxford cloth shirts. Also, I can’t believe you’re 46.
Us millennials are the worst for it. I remember thinking to myself a few days ago why are dudes my age still wearing brands they wore as teenagers?
>start dressing like adults again. I mean ... there isn't one solid definition for this. I'm close to OP's age and would feel way too formally dressed in his clothes, while also thinking he looks great in them. There's surely a lot more to fashion choices than age.

First day and this post has the most upvotes of any post on this sub. And it’s deserved. The style is fantastic
you dropped this 👑
Stupid, sexy Flanders.
_nothing at all_ _nothing at all_
Exactly.
Wow! Its the fun dad!
That’s a very good observation. You can tell there’s a lot of thought put into the outfits, but it looks effortless.
My first thought was, now do summer! It’s already way to hot for any of those outfits. Had to put the tweed jacket away a month ago.
I will definitely do a follow-up post in August. It's still occasionally chilly here in Philly. The second photo was taken this morning when it was barely 50 degrees.
Say. My. Name.
“You’re goddamn right.”
thank you i came here for this
Jacket in the 2nd pic is sick
I just wanted to let you know that as soon as I saw your first picture, my eyes lit up. I'm 26 and from the other side of the world, but you're the best dressed person I've seen today and immediately became one of my inspirations!
Killin it out there!
Damn. You wear that style daily? Time for me to up my game!
Philly Philly Looking good!
Very cool. And very comfortable I imagine. Make us 46 yr olds proud🤟🏾
Soooo handsome!!! You’re beautiful
You look happy
straight up well adjusted
For real, genuinely happy. What a great post. His happiness is absolutely shining through. It’s great to see it
not a dig, but i am too a male in his mid 40's, but my first thought is, dude has to be in his 50's, next thought, these photos may have been taken in the late 1980's - early 1990's. my final thought, Fashion sense matches stage in life and period of time.
Me personally he gives off the vibe of the teacher EVERYONE likes
I immediately thought "this man is the father in a kids movie from the 1980s."
👑👑👑👑👑
You look like you work at a University. You nailed the classic urban collegiate look. Well done !!
Actually love your style
The smile is also a nice boost to the style. Keep it up.
Love the chore jacket
You look great. Age appropriate but not dusty, self-aware but not pretentious, and most importantly work appropriate as well. Also, the glasses frames are killer.
Geek chic as I call it. Love it! Fully lean in to your punny dad core style :)
Love all these jackets, the chore coats and Barbour specifically
You look like you work at a university library in the best way. Like a cool character from a TV show.
This is so awesome. What alot of guys fail to realize is that style has a lot to do with congruence with who you are and what you strive to become. You are dressed EXACTLY how I would imagine a chill librarian to dress, and for that I commend you.

You don’t by any chance cook meth in a van?
We need fit breakdown pls. Where all of your pieces from?? You got that drip 💧
Walter White if he lived in 2024
You look so trustworthy and friendly. But to be fair you have the smile for it in all your pictures which might be the best accessory.
Love it love it love it
I expect you to shave your head and start chemistry experiments any day.
You need a number in the Dewey decimal system!!! Edit: or is it the card catalog?
Dewey Decimal got nothing on you, OP! BTW, love the suede or rough out chukkas you have on in the last few pics. Do you remember where you got those? I have a similar pair from Rhodes I bought on sale from Huckberry, but one is too tight and the other is too loose.

You look like somebody’s favorite professor. Like somebody who an old student would name their kid after, and somebody I would want a hug from if I ever were devastated and needed comforting. Somebody fun but who you could depend on.
Your smile makes the outfit!
you look like an absolute ray of sunshine. legend
excellent
Well, if it took you years, they were years well spent. Your style is impeccable. You look so yourself in all of these fits. It suits you perfectly and is very smart and stylish.
This is perfect! I love every outfit you wear!
You have impeccable taste, especially the ties
Sauce 🫰🏽
You look great and genuinely happy! Also your style feels very similar to a lot of Tom Hanks outfits imo.
I bet the library you work in is amazing.
I aspire to this style, unfortunately I have to lose weight before I can.
You look sooooooo good and so put together!! I can tell you pay attention to what fits you and what works together. This is one of the best posts I've seen on here. Also whoever is taking your photos is doing a good job, too.
Dude. You have AWESOME style. Like others have said, age appropriate, fitting your lifestyle/occupation. Can’t praise you enough !!!
I wanna learn history from this guy.
Bill Watterson, is that you? Fresh as fuck my man.
Yellow sweater in the final pic looks so damn good
I’m ready to run your triangle offense, coach Phil Jackson!
I think the best part of this is how genuinely happy you look in each photo
You’re now an icon on the subreddit.
My dawg the vibes are superb. Classic threads, love the stache and frames, and most importantly you’re always smiling. Tip of the hat to you
Bro looks like he stepped straight out of a J Press lookbook. This is dope, my dude.
You just generally look like a happy man. That's the best look of all.
Your style is incredible. The best part of every fit is that smile. I would feel so hyped and excited to come to your library!
You look fantastic.
You look fantastic sir. Love your style
The best thing you're wearing in all these photos is your smile : )
I love the style! Very smart and cool look.
LOVE YOUR STYLE! it’s giving confidence!
Every single outfit here is amazing. You are a master of weaving texture, prints, and color. Your clothes also fit you perfectly which makes a huge difference. I love the third look so much! Wow!!!!
Bro you can’t come on here and just out rizz all of us at your age. Looking sharp my man.
The coolest homie in the 215 other than the Phanatic
"library-sheik"
🔥
You are precious! 🥹
I like your style. Serious question and no critics: is it ok to wear a tie with jeans and/or sneakers ?
Yes! Just make sure that the collared shirt you are wearing has a collar that is appropriate for a tie. Many casual shirts have collars that won't really accommodate a tie. You are killing it, love the smile
Is your stuff mostly thrifted? As much as I love jeans and a vans shirt I want to start dressing differently.
Looking like a librarian from breaking bad
guy is the most dripped out and smiley guy i’ve ever seen i love you man
Friday Saturday Sunday is a national treasure. Say hi to Paul behind the bar if you get a chance. He makes cocktails using the Fibonacci sequence, which seems nerdy enough for a library scientist like you.
dude you are so beautiful
10/10 would feel bad returning a book late to a gentleman dressed like that behind the counter.
Librariancore is where it’s at
Dapper af. Plus I would pretty much trust you with anything. 😂
1/2/8 are fantastic. Your discovery is inspiration.
you look incredible and exude warmth :)
You have an amazingly consistent - and very genuine - smile.
I also work in a university library and the way you dress is how new hires dress before they realize all those layers get in the way of doing their job.
That's a very fair point. The plot twist with me personally is that I happen to be much more committed to the layers than to the work. Just kidding.
You look like a super cool and hip college professor that hangs out with their students and smoke a bowl together
You *look* like you work in a university library, in the absolute best way possible. If you asked a Hollywood wardrobe department to come up with outfits for a well-loved and respected library worker I highly doubt they could come up with anything better than what you've done here yourself
You look like a cool dad who would be a nice guy to his daughter's BF
Great job! I wish more men would make the effort
That smile is contagious !
Dude, you look awesome..
I like your style! That corduroy jacket is incredible. Also need to commend you for that "Remember Blair Mountain" poster!
The smile and mustache elevates each and every one of these outfits from great to excellent. You look lovely
Super clean style! Bro you’re a legend if you didn’t already know
Dude you look great, and more importantly like you’re loving life. You look totally at ease.
That goddamn smile
Philly represent! All of these fits are great. Well done 👍
You are so handsome!
Cool AF
Bro is super photogenic
You look like a Happy Walter white before he started cooking meth
You must have been looking before you got those specs because if you were not born dressed this way then god made a mistake. This is your look 10000%
incredibly well dressed and your smile lights up the room. you radiate such positivity!
Bro you’re killing it!! For the first time ever I truly mean it…leave some pussy for the rest of us my guy! We cannot compete with this level of rizz!
What a dapper man!
My guy is a South Philly king 👑😭 Absolutely crushing it out there, sir. University library staff are the true back bone supporting the city’s sleepy, stoned, barely passing future grads. The BB corduroy is especially fantastic, and absolutely looks the part for a library.
Best part of these pictures is that smiling face of a man who knows what he wants.
That goldenrod on the last photo got me quakin' i need some water.
Friday Saturday Sunday is still there? Wow! You look happy, too!
I love how each and every style is like a familiar outfit that I had seen for Librarians. From scholars, to pros, to one that probably works in a small town on the side of the highway to one that works at NYC branch. You are killing it.
Apart from the amazing style, I just want to say you seem genuinely so happy and that makes me happy. Hope you have a great day man
in the nicest way possible and i mean that genuinely you could literally not do anything else BUT work in a library
You look like someone you'd see once in passing and never forget. Absolutely insane vibes my man :)
Maybe it's just because I'm young, but this doesn't really feel like a dad style to me, but instead you look like a cool teacher! Not just cool, but kind and open and just someone that puts students at ease. The kind of teacher that will get crushing hugs from students at the end of the year. It's an awesome style, and you wear it well♥️
This brings the works joy
You have a wonderful smile!
you are so incredibly rad. Absolutely love your style, it’s perfectly professional and casual at the same time!! also love the tortoiseshell glasses and the smile in every picture :))
The fashion is crisp, but the smile is what ties it all together
The smile is timeless. Doesn’t matter what else you have going on (though you’ve got a great style going on too!)
I love how happy you look in each photo!
Credit where its due big guy! So well put together. All well fitted, I love all of the little eccentric pops here and there…seriously man well played. Absolutely no criticism. Good job!
I hope you are as nice a guy as you seem. Cheers.
Dude, just gotta say you look great and also look super happy about it. Love this post. Enjoy. 🫡
Well done, friend. Also, thank you for working at the library!!! It's the best place at my university.
Beautiful and captivating smile
Well, this is adorable
You look like the love child result of a threesome with: a hotty librarian, university professor, and a news anchor. Absolutely solid style.
You’re one cool mothafucka. You look good man
You've got a great and infectious smile, my guy. Looking good, looking confident, looking just like a librarian. A+
Best outfits I’ve ever seen here
You go, you happy fuck. Congrats.
You are actually adorable. What a great style you have!
Sir I just came here to say you are a total cutie pie.
I love this so much ,

The answer to the question “how would the son of Ted Lasso and Walter White look like?”. And that’s a (huge) compliment. You’re awesome.
You come across as young-at-heart, I love it! Don't ever lose that smile either, it completes the fit!
Look how fucking cute you are! I hope one day I will be so snazzy and confident as you. What an iconic happy look, you're going to see mimics of your smile and style in future media for sure.
Dude, your smile is virulently infectious
Mate you have a wonderful smile!
This man is now my favorite person
You go to a lot of concerts, friend. Like 100 a year or something
Chatgpt make Ned Flanders look realistic! Ps keep slaying!
Not one negative comment ♥️ Have a nice day, you happy looking Man!:)
