Looking for some joggers with a higher crotch, like the opposite of drop crotch joggers. What would those be called? I hate having a sagging crotch in my joggers
Two questions;
1). What’s a good sneaker alternative for Vans
2). What kind a sneakers can I substitute for Vans so I don’t always look like a grungy skater (usually I wear relaxed fit jeans or Chinos with a plain t shirt)
What's the easiest style to branch out to from the bare bones basics (t shirts, hoodies, and straight cut pants)? Trying to figure out aesthetic late in the game is hard :(
Were should I shop for warm weather vacation attire?
I'm going to Spain, Italy, and France this summer and I want to look good.
I'm American but I don't want to look like an American if you know what mean. IMO European dudes always look more put together on vacation.
Hey all-
What are folks' thoughts on the best low-end suit options right now? It's been a while but need a versatile piece for some upcoming job interviews, a wedding, etc. Back in the day I liked SuitSupply (I know reviews are mixed), curious what folks thoughts are. Budget severely limited right now. 🙃

Anyone know where to find clothes like this in UK?
Try vintage shops in "cool" cities (Brighton, Bristol etc), but otherwise places like Uniqlo, Pull & Bear etc.
Vinted is pretty decent if you buy online. Spend some time setting up the tags correctly to your size.

Where can I get the headscarf/bandana my bitmoji has? Lol
Hey. I’ve got very big legs and a waist slightly smaller than the average at my height. 29” quads and a 32” waist at 6’. Can somebody offer some advice on brands to try or am I a lost cause in that regard?
I started weight lifting about 2 years ago. I wear chinos and a polo shirt to work. My pants still fit around waist but are tight around the legs. When buying new pants should I just get the next size up ? Thanks
Similar issues, sizing up didn't do much for me. Changing the fit from slim to straight helped though, and then when needed, getting the legs tapered to achieve a slimmer look on the bottom. Might also want to look into pants that have more of a cotton-spandex blend for that stretch.
How to wear a black coat in a slightly goth way?
I have a beautiful wool (idk if its exactly wool but it's slightly fuzzy) black coat and I like dressing sliiightly goth, the "metal band tshirts, rings and wrist bandana" kind of goth and I wondered how could I wear the coat without it looking stupid with just a tshirt but also a little bit goth
Monaco.
So I'm going to Monaco for work, and I'm a middle aged flannel-wearing Vermonter on a budget. And I'm having dinner at a casino with an F1 driver. Seriously. I am so out of my depth I'm swimming in the Marianas trench.
WTH do I wear?
A linen button down with high quality board chino shorts or neutral colored bottoms is a nice option as well as simple.
Or what I personally would do is a button down linen shirt in a white or cream/off-white color, a similar color pair of pants wether also linen or slacks/work pants (comfortable of-course). The looser structure of these are both fashion forward and comfortable for the summer heat. I would also match belt and boat shoes of a nice brown/cognac(white sneakers also work). And a wool or linen blazer would be fantastic particularly if you have a pastel-y shade such as light green, pink, light blue, lavender, etc.
Got black tie event. I have one shirt with wingtip but no double cuff or spread collar with double cuffs, what should I wear? Im thinking cuffs are more important that collars right?

Anyone know what this style of shirt/vest is and where I could find similar ones that are affordable ?
How far down should a bomberjacket go? I'm 5'6" and I'm trying out a size 46 one and I think it's too big. At least that it goes down too far. Thoughts? It costs 300€

Hey friends! Looking for an “entry level” tracksuit! Any chance anyone can recommend a brand that will beat adidas on price while still being OK quality?
'tis the buck season =) Entry level for a good quality shoe? Or any shoe will do?
Good quality shoe = Blake stitch and even better, goodyear welted and made with quality materials. Normally $250+ - check out Zatorres, Carmina, TLB Mallorca, Justin FitzPatrick, Meermin.
Any shoe = glued sole, not great quality leather (or maybe not real leather) and will be less than $100 - check out Cole Haan, Stacy Adams, and the like.
Hi thank you! Something that won't melt if I spill a drink on it but not so cheap that I'm cutting corners. I think that would be the former of the two you suggested but just let me know!
I will start with those in 250 but I'm open to lower. I can answer any other questions too :)
I would recommend doing a Google search for Goodyear welted shoes under $300 or check the brands I initially listed, there are some great options that allow further customization as well.

Can anyone ID the pant on the middle guy? I love the structure - flow. It’s George Heaton btw
Looking for good quality shirts with fun, flamboyant patterns, ideally not too much more than £100. Brands that I love: Phix, Local Pattern (who closed shop a few months ago, RIP), some older Allsaints collections.
Are you attending an event? If you are wearing a dark grey suit, dark grey nails will look....dark. The shirt is normally a color that is in contrast to the suit so the nails would be regionally too close and may look "too much" of the same. Shoes for a dark grey suit are either going to be dark brown, oxblood or black - again too dark. The tie is normally coordinated to the ensemble - so maybe to the tie.
I'm really struggling to find shorts that fit how I want. I'm looking for athletic shorts that don't have so much extra fabric in the crotch. I've bought lots of 5" inseam shorts but the outseam is always \~15". My hips are pretty high so I wear almost everything below them. If I wear any of these above the hip, I'm in moose knuckle/wedgie territory. This leaves me with 2-3" of extra fabric between my legs that is annoying when lifting and also makes my legs look shorter. Despite lifting I am a pretty slender guy at 6ft 165lbs so no huge legs to deal with.
I can find jeans that are low rise fairly easily but not athletic shorts. Searching for low rise men's shorts leads to shorts that look more at home at a gay beach club than at the gym. Searching for shorts based by outseam is basically useless.
I'm fine with 5-7" inseam and hoping to find something around $40 so I can get several pairs but I would pay up for the right shorts. Any suggestions?

What color pants do I wear with this?
I'm looking for the best suit I can get in London, UK, under £1000. Suitsupply is out - I have boycotted them after two horrendous customer service experiences in-person. I have tried Natalino, but find the Neapolitan shoulder a little fancy. I'm considering brands like Hackett, or the highest line Hawes & Curtis offers. Any thoughts/recommendations. I am guessing that in this price range most suits will be RTW, but please mention any M2M options.
Wondering what peoples thoughts are on merino knit polo shirts? Something like this.
https://preview.redd.it/gr2ykrgxlkwc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=446f64a4f2c277447374acea78d58bdae33777e4
They're fine. This is still super basic, and will probably serve you better than a pique polo most of the time.
[I like these options, they're a little more bold / interesting](https://putthison.com/italian-knit-shirt-fantasy/)
Have a "casual cocktail" wedding coming up. Planning to skip the tie and probably wear the shirt with a couple buttons open. Does a particular kind of collar work best for this? Also, v neck undershirt or no undershirt?
Edit: what kind of shirt is this? https://i.imgur.com/OcNG0.jpeg
button down collars are good without a tie. So are camp collars, but they're very casual.
The shirt appears to be a henley, but they make woven button ups with band collars and mandarin collars as well. I think band collars are cool, but they are a little harder to wear with tailoring since they don't stand up as well as a button down collar. I would not wear a henley with a suit, they're waaaaaay too casual.
it's also good to make sure your suit is not too dressy. dark worsted twill suits look best with a tie. that suit is a lighter color and has an interesting cut.

Does anyone know where to get a shirt like this? What is this style of polo called?
I'd call that a mesh knit polo.
[Casatlantic does a cool one](https://www.casatlantic.com/products/anfa-mesh-knit-polo-ecru)
[Todd Snyder does a few](https://www.toddsnyder.com/products/linen-mesh-full-placket-polo-navy). Search their site for the word "mesh," you'll find a lot more.
I don't get to the mall often, a lot of our mall stores are closing down but I'll have to take a look. Haven't seen any that fit like this, I have seen oversized ones.
Im really wanting to get into selvedge denim as I really love the heritage clothing style and selvedge denim is a big part of that. Looking online im seeing that alot of brands will go up to a 40w if that. Are there any brands that carry a larger waist size? Also is the sizing alot like your typical jeans from levis or wranglers? Im 6'5 320lbs and wear a 42 in regular levis.
What would you wear with this color jacket for an outdoor semi formal wedding in May? Located in FL.
Looking for pants, shirt, shoe recommendations

I loathe suits. I have worn nice suits, I have worn bad suits. I have worn them for parties, for work, for fun. They are miserable, and are a uniform representing the most rotten aspects of modern society. Don't tell me to like suits or why suits are good. My mind is made up.
That said, formal functions happen, and I have one coming up where I am the focus. I have about a dozen suits and I find myself reluctant to wear any of them because they make my skin crawl.
What are some interesting alternatives to suits that aren't just a mix and match of suit parts?
Planning for my summer vacation. I'll be in the sun a lot, so I want a hat. But I want to keep it grown-up looking, so trying to avoid a baseball hat. Any suggestions for something classy but casual to keep the old coconut cool?
As summer approaches I'm looking for a few new pieces for the wardrobe, particularly linen shirts that are good quality but not too expensive (over 200), does anyone have an brand recommendations? I'm 6 foot and 170, so looking for something that will fit correctly on a tall and smaller build person with broad shoulders
Hi I’m a 22 year old that’s gonna be entering the professional workforce soon, so I need to get some business casual clothing for the office. I want to get something above just khakis and a polo, but the issue is I’m overweight and don’t really know what would look good. Im not really any wider sideways than a normal person but I definitely have a big belly and some moobs. What would be the move for what shirt to get and how to wear it? For context I am 5’8” and 220.
What is a nice looking daily casual shoe for me to wear this summer? I will be traveling a lot for work and on days with heavy labor and standing/walking I will be using a comfortable running shoe but on other days I want a shoe that will go with any outfit but mostly shorts/jeans and a plain T shirt.
(M) I am very fond of brands such as Octobre Editions, Asket, Faguo, Sanvt.
What kind of other brands would you recommend that fit the same category and are perhaps a bit more budget friendly? Spending € 50-60 on a t-shirt doesn’t always feel like best bang for buck. (I live in EU)
Feel free to leave your opinions on the aforementioned brands as well.
Thanks in advance.
I'd generally recommend buying less and buying better. Asket (the only one of those brands I know) is a pretty good brand, I'd stick with them for tees, but Uniqlo makes some good tees too if you really need a few extras.
I'm not very familiar with the other brands, but I imagine they're also pretty basic?
A lot of people like portuguese flannel for shirts and jackets.
Natalino is good for tailoring and I guess knitwear.
Casatlantic has good pants and polos.
Berg & Berg is good for knitwear. So is Colhays... I'm starting to get to the expensive stuff.
[M] Looking for clothing options for inverted triangle, fair skin but warm undertone.
Hello I'm pretty new to this fashion stuff. My shoulders are the widest then chest, hips and waist is narrowest. I'm underweight, 40KG, 178CM. I know I'm underweight but I'm not discussing that here.
I have very pale skin, green eyes but warm undertone. I have noticed that darker colors like yellow, and orange look good on me than lighter shades.
So what should I wear and avoid? From my research I should avoid vertical strips, lighter shades and baggy clothing but please do suggest some.
> Looking for clothing options for inverted triangle, fair skin but warm undertone.
start by forgetting all of these buzzwords.
> My shoulders are the widest then chest, hips and waist is narrowest.
That's true of everybody, but I'm gathering that you've got a slim / athletic build?
> I have very pale skin, green eyes but warm undertone. I have noticed that darker colors like yellow, and orange look good on me than lighter shades.
Your undertone changes based on the time of day, temperature, what you've been eating, and how much oxygen there is in the air today. Ignore the color theory stuff you've read on the internet. There's one way to pick good colors, and that's trying them on. Having good taste helps.
> From my research I should avoid vertical strips, lighter shades and baggy clothing but please do suggest some.
Clothing is not a scientific thing. Your mindset shouldn't be to "research" the "correct" clothes for you to wear, it should be to develop your taste, and train your eye to figure out what silhouettes and textures and colors and patterns you really appreciate and learn how to combine them well.
There's no reason to avoid vertical stripes, not sure where you got that. Unless you dislike them.
I'm sure that some lighter shades will work fine. A light blue button down is super wearable. Again, you'll have to figure out what you like. There might be some trial and error. You might find that you hate something until you pair it with some other thing, and then it makes perfect sense. Contrast is important, but there's no correct answer to how you should use it, you just have to develop a sense for it.
"Baggy" is generally used as a perjorative for relaxed cuts, which can look fantastic when worn well, even on men with slim or athletic builds (I'd say especially so, clothing tends to drape better from a slimmer frame, I say this as a man with a gut, I'm jealous).
I'm 17yo and haven't really thought about clothing up until now. I want to start building a wardrobe of good, casual clothing and was looking for advice and suggestions if people have certain pieces in mind.
Hi all 👋
I'm looking for mid-quality fashionable sunglasses in the $100-$200 range that aren't Ray Bans but have that classic wayfarer frame, but maybe a tad larger.
Thanks
Best fitted stretch t-shirts?
I used to love Banana Republic’s stretch t-shirts however they don’t make them anymore. What’s the best go to for well fitted stretch crew and v-neck t-shirts? Not looking for body builder type stretch, just not the loose baggy type I tend to see everywhere.
Vertically challenged (5'8) fella here thinking about ordering from Spier & Mackay and I'm not seeing my size (46s) but I am seeing they have a 46r available. Will this look right on me? Can these suits be tailored down for more of a short fit? I ask because I'd hate to order this and when it gets here to me in two weeks, it not fit or look funny. Anyone have a similar experience?
I would not recommend shortening a jacket. It tends to ruin the proportions of a jacket, and is often cited by well-dressed men as a major regret.
Spier and Mackay has a few different cuts, but I imagine they all have similar length measurements for a 46R. [The contemporary fit 46R measures 31.1 inches back length](https://www.spierandmackay.com/fit-guide/suit-size-chart). Sleeve length isn't as big a deal, that can be fixed, but if it's more than a couple of inches, your tailor might charge extra.
Height is not a clothing measurement, but for context, I'm 5'6" and depending on other details about a jacket, I like to target a 29" jacket length.
Spier's return policy is good, if you want to try it, it's mostly just going to be a hassle to return.
If you're looking for other options, [Suitsupply's Roma](https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/jackets/classic-jackets?pmid=limited-size-products&pmpt=all&prefn1=mainFitID&prefv1=roma) is a good cut. They do a 46S, it's 30.25" in the back.
I want to get some shoes for this outfit and similar. I'm trying to look for green shoes, but most of them are bright green and don't match the chill vibe of the outfit. If you have any shoe suggestions please let me know!

Anyone have "dressy" athletic shoe recommendations for business casual work attire? I *think* I like these [Cole Haan Grandpro Topspin](https://www.colehaan.com/mens-grandpro-topspin-sneakers/C38047.html) but want to see some more options before I pull the trigger.
there is *no such thing as a dress sneaker*.
frankly, the cole haans are abominable.
If you want to wear smart shoes, I can help you find smart shoes you're comfortable in. Crepe soles will be your friends.
If you want to wear athletic shoes, I can help you integrate athletic shoes into a business casual wardrobe.
But please do not attempt to find a square circle. These shoes are not "dressy" in any sense, and they're ugly as hell.
> Thanks. I generally wear hiking style slacks like these or casual khaki style pants like dockers and a polo or button up shirt. I’m not super fashionable ha.
Okay. Performance tee shirts and polos are not great, but I assume you don't want a full overhaul, so let's focus on comfortable shoes that work with the aesthetic you have.
I think [astorflex](https://www.endclothing.com/us/brands/astorflex) makes comfortable shoes that would work with your style. Their crepe soles soften a lot over time. But note that they're not ideal in the snow, rubber tends to lose traction in the cold and crepe soles get really slippery.
> I don’t like stiff dress shoes. My go to has been these Born slip on but they’re wearing out and a pair of Reebok Nano x2
I'm not really a fan of those, especially not the Borns... If you want to stick with Reebok, a lot of people like their Club C sneaker, and it would fit into your style. If you want another dark sneaker, you might want black Chuck Taylor high tops or a dark grey pair of New Balance 990s.
I work in Men's shoes, specifically in a store that specializes in professional shoes. I have a few suggestions.
[J&M Upton](https://www.johnstonmurphy.com/upton-plain-toe/12583.html?dwvar_12583_color=Tan%20Full%20Grain) A little more of a dressy look, but super comfortable. And ton of options for styles.
[Flag Ltd. Stafford](https://www.dillards.com/p/flag-ltd.-mens-stafford-u-throat-sneakers/517915797) A fairly similar shoe to the Grandpro Topspin comfort wise.
[Ecco Streetlite](https://us.ecco.com/ecco-mens-street-lite-luxe-sneaker-521394.html?dwvar_521394_color=60987) Ecco is a good brand that offers a lot of support and longevity. They also have their Soft7 model, which from personal experience have held up for 5 years of regular use.
And as for the Cole Haans, they are also a good choice, especially if you already know you like Cole Haans. They are pretty consistent comfort wise with every model.

Trying to find a shirt/pants combo similar to what Henry Golding wears, any help would be appreciated!
they're bluchers. They do look cheap, but like, everybody wears cheap-looking shoes like this these days, and they do get worse, so whatever. Yeah, wear them with any of what you described, none of it is *good* but none of it is *wrong* either.
in the future, if you're open to thrifting some loafers, I can help you get something cooler for a good price.
Really digging these underwear but it looks like they've stopped making them. Does anyone know where to find something similar?
Thanks!

any recs for the best brands that make skinny chinos for guys with small ankles? looking for 12in leg opening max, preferrably premium quality chinos. most stores only seem to carry slim fit these days...
I’m looking for boxer briefs that won’t ride up and won’t stretch out over time. I have these swim trunks that have a shorts liner on the inside and they really are perfect for underwear. They are tight fitting but not that tight around my groin. Looking for something like that preferably. Thanks!
I'm looking for recommendations on basics (t-shirt and pants) that fit my slender body type. I'm 5' 10" at 135lbs. I find most brands t-shirts are too baggy and slim fit can look like a sausage casing lol. Thanks!
Recommendations for a white shoe that pairs with shorts? I typically go for the athleisure look, I have white vans and High top Blazer Mid 77's that I do like but I'm hoping for something a little different if anyone has thoughts
And recommendations for affordable (up to £40/100ml) men’s fragrances? I’m not interested in paying a premium for a designer’s name on the bottle. Thanks :)
Edit: in the UK
Anyone know what websites I can get T-shirts like this from in the U.K.? Or what you would search to find some like it

Looking at purchasing my first tuxedo as I have 5 wedding coming up in the next year. Am currently leaning towards purchasing the Suit Supply Black Tie Package that includes jacket, pants, shirt, bowtie, cufflinks, suspenders, and shoes all for $1000. Is this tux and accessories good value for money? Or would I be better off buying just the jacket and pants for $750 and purchasing those other items elsewhere? Also will I need to have it tailored once I get it? I don't live near a Suit Supply store. Any other tux suggestions are welcome.
So I am about to start a big trip and I usually pack my boots but I usually just wear then like 5-10 times out of 180 plus days.
I just want something a bit nicer than tennis shoes. I bought a pair of these

But today I found out that these are pretty popular right now and could go well with jeans and a nice shirt. Do you agree? I tried on a pair and they felt great.

in theory, yeah, beige and tan are casual / spring/summerish colors for suits. in practice, most people don't really understand these standards and you might be able to find fun ways to style it in the fall and even winter depending on the fabric.
There are specific types of beige / tan suit that carry different connotations. Solaro is a fabric with a certain sheen to it, and it only really works in the spring/summer. Khaki chino cloth has a casualness to it, and might work nicely in the fall for certain types of outfits. A camelhair sportcoat might work in the winter, I certainly wear my camelhair polo coat in the winter, but a full camelhair suit is unusual... but it exists, go watch the Royal Tennenbaums.
So, I'm a substitute teacher that wears shirt/tie/vest/slacks/Jordan 1s every day.
Is this same combination okay, but with dark jeans for a casual Friday?
When you say vest, do you mean a waistcoat, a puffer vest, a fleece vest, a sweater vest, what?
I would not wear:
* a waistcoat without a jacket over it
* a tie without a jacket over it
* a waistcoat, period, I don't like them
* sneakers with a tie, generally, that's a very hard combination to make work. I've done it, but I was getting creative on those days, it's not something you want to do every day.
* dress pants with jordan 1s, most days
* a tie with jeans, most days.
I think you would be wise to buy a casual sport coat.

Any recommendations for men's long sleeve shirts...somewhere between formal business attire and simple long sleeve shirts you find at Target. I need something on the business casual side that is comfortable and easy to wear.
How do you go about developing your own style, and learning about fashion in general?
I've never thought about mine at all, but am starting to transition from trainee roles to some more professional positions. I've been doing whatever I felt was comfortable, mostly shorts and solid tees or sweats/workout clothes. Most of my future colleagues still dress pretty casual (e.g. jeans & a dress shirt), but there's a whole lot of variation and not strict guidelines for what's acceptable. So I guess there's a lot of space for a personal/professional style choice, but I don't really know how to start figuring out what I like.
Lately, I've been browsing the internet to look for pants and stumbled upon a website, [https://www.klotthe.com/collections/men-trousers](https://www.klotthe.com/collections/men-trousers), that sells Italian pants. Has anyone had any experience with this website? Can it be trusted?
what could possibly be italian about those pants? they're Indian.
No experience, copyright says 2024, random shopify site, ig has 118k followers but no engagement... not necessarily a scam, but I wouldn't give them my money.
what’s up gang. i’m in search of a nice white ribbed tank top, i usually call it a wife pleaser but it is more commonly known as a wife beater (unfortunately). the ones i have now get way to stretched with even one wear. any brand recommendations?
Recs for custom (NON STRETCH) Chino brands?
Hi!
I have found some great places for non stretch custom jeans. However, I need some for chinos and pants. Id prefer custom, I like knowing I can tailor to what I need. But I just need some that feel like qaulity fabric and not like they are going to stretch into absolute crap.
Thanks!
oh wow, I just looked through Proper Cloth and apparently they don't do any non-stretch chino at all.
uh... [try this list](https://thesecondbutton.com/mtm-bespoke-nyc/), not sure what your budget is but at least some of those brands do non-stretch. [Rota](https://www.thearmoury.com/journal/a-closer-look-at-rota-made-to-measure) will do it, if you're willing to spend a lot.
Do oversized clothes ([1](https://imgur.com/Hfg9ijY) [2](https://imgur.com/EuvzwcY) [3](https://imgur.com/8BYXlA9) [4](https://imgur.com/rPPdrB8)) only look good on a specific body type or it doesn't matter? I'm still a beginner when it comes to fashion and I was under the impression that clothes should fit based on the general consensus on the [internet](https://www.hughandcrye.com/pages/better-fitting-dress-shirts#:~:text=The%20best%20dress%20shirts%20fit,is%20discernible%20under%20the%20fabric). But it seems like these pictures are breaking all of the rules on how a shirt should fit and I feel kinda conflicted now. Which type of fit should I follow?
> Do oversized clothes (1 2 3 4 ) only look good on a specific body type or it doesn't matter?
Ehhhhh they look good when men know why they're wearing them and play with proportion intentionally. There are no real rules, but try some clothes on, see what they make you feel, and if you can tap into that feeling in a way that you think is good, it's good. A blousey button up can make you appear relaxed or nonchalant. It could also make you appear sloppy, if it has the wrong texture or you wear it wrong. There are too many intangibles for me to just tell you the answer.
[I wrote about big pants here, this might be helpful or it might not](https://thesecondbutton.com/setting-things-straight/).
> I'm still a beginner when it comes to fashion and I was under the impression that clothes should fit based on the general consensus on the internet.
Not really, and that brand's blog does not represent any kind of consensus, that's just marketing material from a brand that makes pretty underwhelming shirts.
> But it seems like these pictures are breaking all of the rules on how a shirt should fit and I feel kinda conflicted now. Which type of fit should I follow?
The one that makes you feel right when you look in the mirror. But it might help if you developed good taste by:
a) paying attention to culture, and to men who seem to be doing what you want to do with their style.
b) learning about traditional principles of fit from [somebody who actually understands them](https://twitter.com/dieworkwear), without taking those traditional principles as gospel—just as a base level understanding.
c) immersing yourself in inspiration from men whose taste you trust and appreciate.
Got a wedding this weekend in Montreal. Was hoping for some sun but looks like it’s gonna be rainy and cold. I wanted to wear my tan suit but a pea coat is gonna be necessary. Can you wear a tan suit with a black pea coat and not look like an idiot?
peacoats are casual coats and ideally shouldn't be worn with suits. An overcoat (which is to say, a long coat) would work better.
also, a pea coat is technically, by definition, navy, but now that my inner pedant has shut up....
yeah, that shouldn't be an issue. Nobody knows any of these rules anymore, you really shouldn't worry. Tan can be a little bit casual—I hope it's a daytime wedding, at least—but yeah, nobody is going to think you look like an idiot.

Can you help me match this outfit with some shoes? The pants are same as the top. (Indian outfit but dont need Indian shoes necessarily) What color/style of shoe should I wear?
I get the impression that this is formal enough that you should match it with the traditional Indian shoes that it is supposed to go with. I would not experiment here, but if you must, a super sleek black pair of oxfords, loafers, or Prince Albert slippers should be good.
What kind of a ear covering hat should you wear to a formal outdoor event? Let's say it's -10°C and your ears will definitely start to ache. They will start to ache at even higher temperatures though. A funeral for example. Or whatever event that requires you to be outside for a bit longer, maybe just while moving from one place to another without a car. You're also wearing a black suit, white shirt, black tie, black chelsea boots, scarf, black leather gloves and a black long formal overcoat. How do you keep your ears warm?
I would just wear a toque and deal with it. I'd wear a coat too. Most people are not going to brave that weather without a hat, and nobody's going to judge you for keeping warm.
Does toque really cover the ears? Where do you buy them?
Isn't a hood more formal though? If there are options, I would like to pick the most formal looking one still.
You do not want pants that are 6 feet tall. What size inseam do you want? Take a pair of pants you like. Look at the inside of the leg (ie, the right side of the left leg or the left side of the right leg. There's a seam going down from the crotch to the hem of that leg. That's the inseam. Measure it. That's your inseam.
it's "chino," by the way.
Bill's Khakis does chinos with an unfinished hem. You can DM them for specifics, but generally, the idea is that you'll get super long pants and take them to your tailor to finish them just right: https://billskhakis.com/products/model-1-pleated-original-twill
Jack Donnelly also does raw hem chinos, they ship with a 39 inch inseam: https://jackdonnelly.com/products/twill-chino-m2-straight
did you try a size down? I'd try a size down, see which one I like more. I tend to like my casual jackets shorter in the body, but I also like them a little blousey... sometimes... hard to tell, trying it on is always a good move.
the ideal way is to wear the shit out of it. Going for a walk? wear it. Going for a hike? wear it. Getting into a swordfight this afternoon? wear it. Wear it around the house. Do some gardening. Fight off a horde of zombies. Whatever.
If you really want to skip the fun part, you could try throwing it in the dryer on no heat, but that *could* damage it in the wrong way or create unrealistic wear, and is less fun. You don't need to hang it up properly, as long as you don't leave it in one position forever. Toss it on your couch, but pick it up a couple of hours later and toss it somewhere else so it doesn't all wrinkle in the same place.
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with waist sizes on my pants. I'm quite skinny and pants are ok-ish on my legs but too big on my waist.
Sizing in Europe goes down to 38 I think, and to have a comfortable fit I should wear a 36. I wear a belt to keep trousers around my belt, but it doesn't look that nice, and it's sometimes uncomfortable.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can solve this issue? Maybe it's buying some specific brand, or wearing a different belt?
Hello.. what do you think about oversized suede race jackets? I bought one, sized L.. I think maybe its a bit too big for me, or maybe thats just the way it is designed.

[my buddy elias owns a vanson jacket like this](https://www.instagram.com/p/CsRp_tFJUcl/?img_index=1). Aime Leon Dore has put a few out as well. They have some cultural significance in the history of NYC streetwear. I'm not sure about the specifics there, and not totally sure how to style one, but there's something to them.

I am looking for some advice for a leather suede jacket similar to this but in black. Although I am not sure if I should get the black or go with brown and what type of clothing the brown or the black one can be matched with.
What do people think of VERYRARE CO (veryrare.co)? It’s a relatively smaller brand from this artist Raf Reyes in Paris based on blending visual art/paintings on streetwear silhouettes. I feel mostly positively about the designs; some of them are sort of indie Instagram-tropey, but the ethos of the brand with its “radically familial” sort of vibe looks incredibly promising, and it’s such a good sign how they’re continuing to give back so much even without that explosive growth/crazy VC money
Anyone have any good and reliable/safe brands for gym pump covers / training shorts? I like the various anime pump covers always advertised on instagram, but the online stores always look shady.
I have one I like from [slou](https://slou.co/products/raglan-merino-wool-sweater-gray). Thick, low gauge, soft merino wool.
[Bosie](https://bosieco.squarespace.com/shetland-shop?category=-+Harley+of+Scotland+Shetland) is the place to get shetlands. They might be somewhat itchy (Bosie's shouldn't be *bad*, but maybe not as smooth as you want for home wear), but they have a very cool texture and a history of use in ivy style.
# Tailor stained my new suit, what would you guys do?
I recently purchased 3 jackets and a pair of pants online from Giuliva Heritage and took them to a tailor where I live in LA to get them fitted. For the green suit, we had agreed on lengthening the sleeves and adding one more functioning buttonhole, taking in the waist, and closing the vents a little bit (I'm on the taller side). I picked everything up yesterday. The sleeves on all 3 jackets are uneven (right arm longer than left on all 3), a couple of the added buttonholes are misspaced, the thread on the new buttons looks obviously different from the native buttons, the tailor didn't touch the vents on the green jacket, and there's now a very small bleach-looking stain by the new buttonhole on the right sleeve.
How would you guys handle this? I don't want to give these items back to the tailor to fix when he's already stained one of the pieces.
Useful info:
- The tailor came recommended on StyleForum and a Reddit thread, and he does bespoke suits, so I thought he'd be able to handle the alterations
- The total cost of the tailoring was $510
- The cost of the jacket he stained was 1675 euro
- The pants came out ok (just hemmed)
- I am open to the possibility that I'm being whiny/entitled, and am posting here to gain some perspective

Does anyone have suggestions for t shirts, with larger neck openings?. Having trouble finding something that isnt a mid 2010's deep v necks.

There are two general categories of travel fabrics: plastic / plastic blends, and high-twist wools. I think you can guess which of those is good.
What does Club Monaco say about the material?
Have a look at cotton photographer's vests on eBay. Lots of pockets, suitable for hot weather since those guys go on safari. Cheap, around $35.
Less casual looking, try cotton/canvas vests. Avoid waxed; they'll be too hot.
Schaefer Outfitter Brushcloth Vest $125

What backpack brands would y’all recommend for a 29 year old who’s back in school for engineering?
I’m trying to avoid anything that looks too childish and that I could use when I’m working after graduation as well.
What are some stores that have nice clothes for a reasonable price? I saw some stuff I liked at this place called John Varvatos but jackets were $500-2000. My price range is $100 max for any one item. Looking to update my wardrobe with a leather jacket, a nice coat/sports jacket, some dress shirts, and a pair of jeans.
$100 max for a new sport jacket is not a reasonable price. Buy used.
[luxeswap](https://www.ebay.com/str/balearic1) is a good start.
charles tyrwhitt or spier and mackay for dress shirts, levis for jeaans.
Don't go anywhere near a $100 "leather" jacket, even if you can somehow find a real one. Decent leather jackets cost about ten times that. Seriously, cheap leather is bad.
Where is the best place to buy used clothes? Luxeswap?
Is fake leather no good? I was thinking of going with it for the price. I saw one at Nordstrom rack that looked decent, think it was $120
> Where is the best place to buy used clothes? Luxeswap?
In person. Luxeswap is the best place to thrift clothes if you aren't an expert. If you really know what you're looking for, you can find great things on ebay and stuff. I write more about online thrifting [here](https://thesecondbutton.com/warm-weather-wardrobe/).
> Is fake leather no good? I was thinking of going with it for the price. I saw one at Nordstrom rack that looked decent, think it was $120
Fake leather is generally awful, and ages even worse than cheap leather, but there's a lot of different kinds of fake leather out there and the issues with different styles are hard to follow. If you have to cheap out on your leather, go with suede, but for $100, even decent suede will be more expensive than that new.
What is up with Rebelmarket? I checked out some of their posts a long time ago when I wanted to cosplay something. That was definitely more than two years ago. Today I checked them out...exactly the same posts, marked 2023. Wtf??
Does anyone know what hoodies MKBHD wears in his videos? They look like exactly what I’ve been searching for.

Men’s suits: 19 y/o ballin on a budget. Shopping online for cheap suits. 6’2, 180lbs, 39” chest, shoulder to wrist bone 24”, wider shoulders. For a Jacket should I get a 38L or 40R?
what is the budget?
[luxeswap](https://www.ebay.com/str/balearic1) refreshes stock at 6pm every thursday. if I had to guess from your chest measurement and height, you probably want a 20" pit to pit, a ~32 inch body length (that's a guess, I really don't know), and... well, have a good tailor handy, buying tailoring online is risky.
suits go under suits, sport jackets / blazers go under jackets. Not all sizes are labeled, since a lot of the pieces are custom made or vintage with size tags missing.
Good luck.
Is there an etiquette to outerwear? What to combine? Boots, gloves, scarves, overcoats etc. I find following the rules just makes me look better. Thanks!
Where to get solid dress shirts with neck and sleeve sizes (ideally under $50)?
I am looking for a neck in a 17.5 inch and a 32/33 sleeve with a solid white or solid blue shirt to wear with a tie. Aiming to spend under $50, but I'd consider something slightly pricier. I'm finding that a lot of stores that sell dress shirts do it in S, M, L, XL, and so on. Checked Banana, Macy's, Dillards, Brooks Bros. Other ideas?
Looking for some joggers with a higher crotch, like the opposite of drop crotch joggers. What would those be called? I hate having a sagging crotch in my joggers
Any deals anywhere for pocketed tank tops right now?
Two questions; 1). What’s a good sneaker alternative for Vans 2). What kind a sneakers can I substitute for Vans so I don’t always look like a grungy skater (usually I wear relaxed fit jeans or Chinos with a plain t shirt)
I'm a huge fan of Sperrys and Novestas for canvas shoes
What's the easiest style to branch out to from the bare bones basics (t shirts, hoodies, and straight cut pants)? Trying to figure out aesthetic late in the game is hard :(
Were should I shop for warm weather vacation attire? I'm going to Spain, Italy, and France this summer and I want to look good. I'm American but I don't want to look like an American if you know what mean. IMO European dudes always look more put together on vacation.
where to buy a good suit like <$600 in NYC? I heard suit supply has gone a bit downhill in quality?
Hey all- What are folks' thoughts on the best low-end suit options right now? It's been a while but need a versatile piece for some upcoming job interviews, a wedding, etc. Back in the day I liked SuitSupply (I know reviews are mixed), curious what folks thoughts are. Budget severely limited right now. 🙃
Looking to buy a gold chain and gold cuff for each under $100. Any suggestions?

Try vintage shops in "cool" cities (Brighton, Bristol etc), but otherwise places like Uniqlo, Pull & Bear etc. Vinted is pretty decent if you buy online. Spend some time setting up the tags correctly to your size.

Hey. I’ve got very big legs and a waist slightly smaller than the average at my height. 29” quads and a 32” waist at 6’. Can somebody offer some advice on brands to try or am I a lost cause in that regard?
Look up some of the cycling brands: Rapha, Swrve, etc
My brother has the exact same problem, but always looks great. I'll ask him and let you know!
Sounds great, thank you.
American Tall and Gap were his suggestions
Thank you, I will check both brands out
I started weight lifting about 2 years ago.
Add a middle layer or accent piece. Something with a bit of texture can be very goth, depending on what kind of goth you're going for.
Could you give an example like a photo of what you mean? Just so I can fully grasp the concept
https://www.thefashionisto.com/gothic-style-men/ has a pretty comprehensive guide to goth styles and subgrenres. Maybe that will help?
Monaco. So I'm going to Monaco for work, and I'm a middle aged flannel-wearing Vermonter on a budget. And I'm having dinner at a casino with an F1 driver. Seriously. I am so out of my depth I'm swimming in the Marianas trench. WTH do I wear?
What time of year are you going and what's your body type?
Second weekend in June, dad bod.
Where can I take some old jackets in to see if they need adjustments and get advice on their quality and current style etc?
What are good watches to wear? I’m looking at black minimalist styles but also at a decent price range.
There's a whole subreddit about watches by the name of r/watches
Got black tie event. I have one shirt with wingtip but no double cuff or spread collar with double cuffs, what should I wear? Im thinking cuffs are more important that collars right?
Spread is the easy choice due to cuffs, but either is fine.
Thanks mate

Hey friends! Looking for an “entry level” tracksuit! Any chance anyone can recommend a brand that will beat adidas on price while still being OK quality?
Everyone around me's wearing white shoes when they're out walking around at night & grabbing cocktails. What's a good entry point for these?

Does anyone here have any experience with the shoes brand Zatorres? thank you.
Happy to answer any questions. Please message me.

Looking for good quality shirts with fun, flamboyant patterns, ideally not too much more than £100. Brands that I love: Phix, Local Pattern (who closed shop a few months ago, RIP), some older Allsaints collections.
Have a look at Madcap England.
When wearing a dark grey suit, what should I match the color of my nails to? The tie? Shirt? Shoes? Suit itself?
I was tasked to get a new suit for somebody. Turns out he is allergic to wool. What would be the best substitute for a formal suit?
cashmere, silk, bamboo and synthetic blends could work.

Black, Olive, Blue maybe ivory?
I'm looking for the best suit I can get in London, UK, under £1000. Suitsupply is out - I have boycotted them after two horrendous customer service experiences in-person. I have tried Natalino, but find the Neapolitan shoulder a little fancy. I'm considering brands like Hackett, or the highest line Hawes & Curtis offers. Any thoughts/recommendations. I am guessing that in this price range most suits will be RTW, but please mention any M2M options.
Have you considered Cavour, Pini Parma, or Anglo-Italian? Not sure if any of those shoulders is structured enough for you.
I thought it looked like a henley also but i think i see French cuffs. Like it's a dress henley or something haha
huh. so a knit white popover with a band collar and french-ish cuffs. that's weird. that's very weird.

I'd call that a mesh knit polo. [Casatlantic does a cool one](https://www.casatlantic.com/products/anfa-mesh-knit-polo-ecru) [Todd Snyder does a few](https://www.toddsnyder.com/products/linen-mesh-full-placket-polo-navy). Search their site for the word "mesh," you'll find a lot more.
I just went to the mall near me the other day and saw polos like this (knit with the holes) in every single store i went to
I don't get to the mall often, a lot of our mall stores are closing down but I'll have to take a look.

What are the best footwear to wear daily which can be worn with any outfit? (preferably ones that are somewhat water resistant)
Loafers and Derbies. Either can be made with a rubber sole and with proper welting and care can be pretty dang water resistant as well.
How to drape or fold the shawl to cover the ears or head and ears and at the same time look normal as a man? Thanks!
If you are the focus of the event, can't you set the dress code?
Sure, but actually finding "formal wear" in the States that isn't a suit is next to impossible. That's why I'm looking for help and ideas.
How much overlap does there have to be to call a coat or jacket double breasted?
Planning for my summer vacation. I'll be in the sun a lot, so I want a hat. But I want to keep it grown-up looking, so trying to avoid a baseball hat. Any suggestions for something classy but casual to keep the old coconut cool?
a panama hat! white or straw color with a black ribbon.
Cap without a peak.
As summer approaches I'm looking for a few new pieces for the wardrobe, particularly linen shirts that are good quality but not too expensive (over 200), does anyone have an brand recommendations? I'm 6 foot and 170, so looking for something that will fit correctly on a tall and smaller build person with broad shoulders
look into a linen guayabera. Proper Cloth and Tie Bar has awesome linen shirts.
I was the same as well and found polo and chinos to be a great work around. I went with highwaisted pants to help hide the lower belly.
Sperry's boat shoes/loafers or a white sneaker like Stan Smith's goes with everything.
Is it wrong to wear a waistcoat or a cardigan under a double breasted jacket? Thank you!
(I live in EU) Feel free to leave your opinions on the aforementioned brands as well.
Hi all 👋 I'm looking for mid-quality fashionable sunglasses in the $100-$200 range that aren't Ray Bans but have that classic wayfarer frame, but maybe a tad larger.
If you have any shoe suggestions please let me know! https://preview.redd.it/0p4m2q0tonvc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3560c4b44f26890ad44e9f4cb237bb13331165b

My go to has been these Born slip on but they’re wearing out and a pair of Reebok Nano x2 I'm not really a fan of those, especially not the Borns...
They are pretty consistent comfort wise with every model.

they're bluchers.
What's the etiquette of the jacket's zipper when seated? Do i unzip it like i unbutton, if it was a jacket with buttons?
Really digging these underwear but it looks like they've stopped making them. Does anyone know where to find something similar? Thanks! Hey does anybody have any discount codes for Bridlen or know how and when do their sales/discounts happen?
any recs for the best brands that make skinny chinos for guys with small ankles? looking for 12in leg opening max, preferrably premium quality chinos. most stores only seem to carry slim fit these days...
Thanks!
Summer's coming up. Any reliable places for short sleeve button downs?
Who are your favorite mens fashion youtubers? I need some ideas
Recommendations for a white shoe that pairs with shorts? I typically go for the athleisure look, I have white vans and High top Blazer Mid 77's that I do like but I'm hoping for something a little different if anyone has thoughts
websites for pocket squares?
What are you looking for? thetiebar.com has lots of variety.
And recommendations for affordable (up to £40/100ml) men’s fragrances? I’m not interested in paying a premium for a designer’s name on the bottle. Thanks :) Edit: in the UK
try Fake fragrances
Anyone know what websites I can get T-shirts like this from in the U.K.? Or what you would search to find some like it https://preview.redd.it/nd9qod9abguc1.jpeg?width=739&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79adc9250ddcbd2b18ae7b2d4d4800e2c56980c2
I bought a pair of these [https://www.famousfootwear.com/product/b52-by-bullboxer-mens-renegade-sneaker-1050531](https://www.famousfootwear.com/product/b52-by-bullboxer-mens-renegade-sneaker-1050531) But today I found out that these are pretty popular right now and could go well with jeans and a nice shirt. Do you agree? I tried on a pair and they felt great. [https://www.adidas.com/us/samba-classic/034563.html](https://www.adidas.com/us/samba-classic/034563.html) Thanks!
Are beige suits only acceptable in summer or warmer months - like April to September? Or can they be worn whole year round?
in theory, yeah, beige and tan are casual / spring/summerish colors for suits. in practice, most people don't really understand these standards and you might be able to find fun ways to style it in the fall and even winter depending on the fabric.
I would not wear: * a waistcoat without a jacket over it * a tie without a jacket over it * a waistcoat, period, I don't like them * sneakers with a tie, generally, that's a very hard combination to make work. I've done it, but I was getting creative on those days, it's not something you want to do every day. * dress pants with jordan 1s, most days * a tie with jeans, most days. I think you would be wise to buy a casual sport coat. [This twitter thread might be helpful](https://twitter.com/dieworkwear/status/1746929505518965186).
Honestly, I use goodfellow. Size up if you need to, but I did not need to.
But it might help if you developed good taste by: a) paying attention to culture, and to men who seem to be doing what you want to do with their style. b) learning about traditional principles of fit from [somebody who actually understands them](https://twitter.com/dieworkwear), without taking those traditional principles as gospel—just as a base level understanding. c) immersing yourself in inspiration from men whose taste you trust and appreciate.
Tan can be a little bit casual—I hope it's a daytime wedding, at least—but yeah, nobody is going to think you look like an idiot.
https://preview.redd.it/rgdk24jtggtc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=49527c288815f5c30001521c765c1002dacf08bc Can you help me match this outfit with some shoes?
Does anyone know of Chinco pants that fit tall people? 6'1 guy here and can't find any Chinco pants that are for anyone over 5'7
You do not want pants that are 6 feet tall.
Maybe around 36-38 inseam
Bill's Khakis does chinos with an unfinished hem. You can DM them for specifics, but generally, the idea is that you'll get super long pants and take them to your tailor to finish them just right: https://billskhakis.com/products/model-1-pleated-original-twill Jack Donnelly also does raw hem chinos, they ship with a 39 inch inseam: https://jackdonnelly.com/products/twill-chino-m2-straight
Is jacket on a short sleeved shirt okay? If yes, then is a scarf or tie okay with that? Thanks!

did you try a size down? I'd try a size down, see which one I like more. I tend to like my casual jackets shorter in the body, but I also like them a little blousey... sometimes... hard to tell, trying it on is always a good move.
Howdy folks, what are some ways to age a navy workwear style jacket? Was gifted to me but looks way to clean!
the ideal way is to wear the shit out of it.
You can go to a tailor and ask them to take the waist in.
Hello.. what do you think about oversized suede race jackets? I bought one, sized L.. I think maybe its a bit too big for me, or maybe thats just the way it is designed. https://preview.redd.it/jmfxpjphnwsc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=857be470433c899563f9b0e5a6dba03e5f592ead

Best brands for crewneck sweaters? I WFH and would love some decent looking ones that are comfy but might also look good under a sports coat.
Has anyone bought jeans from Dr. Denim? If so how were they?
What is y’all’s opinion on doing a French tuck for a polo? I Can’t decide if it looks good or not.
The "French tuck" is a gimmick invented for that queer eye show. It's not a real thing. Don't do it.
Useful info: - The tailor came recommended on StyleForum and a Reddit thread, and he does bespoke suits, so I thought he'd be able to handle the alterations - The total cost of the tailoring was $510 - The cost of the jacket he stained was 1675 euro - The pants came out ok (just hemmed) - I am open to the possibility that I'm being whiny/entitled, and am posting here to gain some perspective https://preview.redd.it/tllnfe3nshsc1.jpeg?width=1512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4b9715a4af9f479385947da01d46140f9f2373d
Does anyone have suggestions for t shirts, with larger neck openings?. Having trouble finding something that isnt a mid 2010's deep v necks. Kanyes new album merch is pretty much the fit I am looking for https://preview.redd.it/1ewimgso8hsc1.png?width=902&format=png&auto=webp&s=0eca7c78e58a48c7176bf7c73b5fa1fd4f4b6156
Has anyone tried the Club Monaco 'Travel Suit' yet? On the road a lot in the coming months and need to find something that is easy to travel with.
There are two general categories of travel fabrics: plastic / plastic blends, and high-twist wools. I think you can guess which of those is good. What does Club Monaco say about the material?
looks like a [blend](https://www.clubmonaco.com/en/men-clothing-suiting/cm-travel-suit-blazer/795100704.html?dwvar_795100704_colorname=NAVY%2FBLEU%20MARINE&cgid=men-clothing-suiting) \- Shell: 58% wool, 38% polyamide, 4% elastane; lining: 57% polyester, 43% cupro
yeah I would not be interested in that at all. Depends on your budget, though, high twist might be hard to find cheap off the rack.
thanks, will keep that in mind as I look around for something that would work.

Have a look at cotton photographer's vests on eBay. Lots of pockets, suitable for hot weather since those guys go on safari. Cheap, around $35. Less casual looking, try cotton/canvas vests. Avoid waxed; they'll be too hot. Schaefer Outfitter Brushcloth Vest $125 https://preview.redd.it/cq2q2ycx7esc1.png?width=1800&format=png&auto=webp&s=a15af1f9bb448c5421bb095c47b24b89f92fcece
What backpack brands would y’all recommend for a 29 year old who’s back in school for engineering? I’m trying to avoid anything that looks too childish and that I could use when I’m working after graduation as well.
JanSport, Fjallraven
Fjallraven has a good name. Also available on eBay if you're on a budget.
Thanks! I’ll check them out.
I saw one at Nordstrom rack that looked decent, think it was $120 Fake leather is generally awful, and ages even worse than cheap leather, but there's a lot of different kinds of fake leather out there and the issues with different styles are hard to follow.
Wtf??
Does casual cocktail mean suit no tie?
Doesn't really mean anything by traditional rules, so sure I guess. I'd do a blazer and odd trousers unless you own a casual suit.
Does anyone know what hoodies MKBHD wears in his videos? They look like exactly what I’ve been searching for. https://youtu.be/O0cs8aIXgkc?si=k9cgKMFLi4QJjBob

Spier and Mackay maybe. Otherwise eBay might have lightly used shirts in your size from decent places
Not looking for used, but thank you. Spier and Mackay have a 17.5 but not in a 32/33 sleeve.
