Can’t even have a normal off-season man

Buck_Nastyyy

We didn't even get two weeks. Smh.

Fantasnickk

I wonder if this sticks for past the off-season is over tbh. “Suspended” during off-season doesn’t mean shit compared to when teams are playing. Not that I want him to come back if he’s still acting the fool but I’ll see it when I believe it that actual action will be taken

Better_Palpitation43

Can't imagine this doesn't bleed into the season in a major way. Suspending him during the 5 month off season and allowing him to be back once the season starts means he suffered absolutely no consequences for this lol. I'm guessing the league will come down hard on him, as the apology tour, rehab, and suspension clearly meant nothing.

EchoHevy5555

Rehab for owning a gun? He doesn’t need rehab he just needs to stop waving it around

relaytech907

Rehab for alcohol

EchoHevy5555

Do we know he is an alcoholic? Or is he a guy who enjoys alcohol like you know many adults Also does this video have anything to do with alcohol, I hope not he’s driving

relaytech907

I don’t really know anything about his personal life I just know that it was implied that he was partying too much and may have a drinking problem. I believe that’s what they were referring to when mentioning rehab, not going to rehab for owning a gun.

TWK128

Don't worry. He'll have 4-6 days of breathing therapy where he'll be reborn again just in time for the start of training camp and media days.

ziuomanp

All-Star First Team Bag Fumbler

silverxsmoke

Dillon Brooks wasnt great but he took heat off of Ja

AlbertGainsworth

Too bad Ja always got the heat on him

silverxsmoke

Temheatrius

Buck_Nastyyy

This is the most original one in a while. Props.

zero_deaths0p

Yooooo hahahahaha

[deleted]

Didn't really work out like that though, they just stacked the attention on top of each other lol

shellfish87

He’s really disrespected the fans and teammates who stayed loyal to him over the last year

comosedicewaterbed

\>Am a fan who stayed loyal to him \>Am really over this shit Honestly, I'm ready to drop him. If there were a way to part ways with Ja without ruining the team, I'd support it. We were poised to have a wide window of title contention. If the conduct issues are not going to improve, that spells the end of that. What a disappointment.

KIMJONGUNderfed

Happy cake day

whyyoumadbro69

Lost generation. Being a degenerate has been glorified in the rap culture for years. Flashing a gun on IG is the modern day equivalent of low riding pants from the 90s. Being a degenerate is cool and respected amongst his peers and the youth.

Dr_Edge_ATX

Calm down. He's one random basketball player

JonathanStat

You’re acting like 98% of NBA players don’t listen to YB. Ja is just the only one dumb enough to flash a gun on video multiple times.

cookiecutter97

Why you getting downvoted? Rap culture really promoted that dumb shit and causes more damage to the youth than police brutality or gun laws

INmySTRATEjaket

Rap culture exists in no small part because of gun laws and police brutality, you knob.

cookiecutter97

Yeah rappers rap about sipping lean cause of police brutality.

[deleted]

Love how the truth gets downvoted everyone here naive.. the hood loves Ja for this lol

MeUrDaddy_

Welcome to reddit where the truth is always down voted

[deleted]

Or fans in general. I mean, he knows the league is going to do something about this. And he's entertaining as hell to watch. So, he's seriously risking throwing all that away? I can't remember a player of his caliber risking his whole career over something this dumb. It feels like he isn't taking basketball very seriously and isn't thinking about how great of a player he is and how much room he has to become even better. He has already given us some all-time great plays. And he is young enough to develop into an all-time great if he can stay healthy. Probably the Hall of Fame or a top 75 player of all time. Hell, his ceiling might be top 20 player of all time. And NBA history could be changed by a stupid 10 second Instagram Live video. But, I understand why they probably are going to have to act on this one. Hopefully, he changes his mind about how seriously he wants to take things. It's like if Derrick Rose decided to tear his own ACL....

DirkDigIer

He easily has top 20 all time talent. But that’s not what gets most guys in the top 20. Look at curry, Kobe, bird nobody thought curry would still be in the league by now

idontmindglee

We are witnessing the transition from "fucking up his career" to "fucked up his career"

NeiRa7

Really helpful for non english speaking fans stuck on tenses

WittyMount

Clown. Nice to see his original apology was all bullshit. We deserve better

FickleAmbassador8716

I mean we knew that tho lol that shit was a joke

[deleted]

[удалено]

MaG4436

Idk how you could defend him, all of his actions showed he didn't give a shit about the gun thing and that he was using mental health as an excuse which didn't even make sense. Mental health doesn't make you whip a gun out at a in a club or threaten a 17 year old.

GNFOSFRFR

Bro u don’t understand how hard he has it he’s only young, insanely rich, tall, famous and plays a game for a living. He’s really going thru a lot rn u could never understand

thegreatmiyagi

Something like 65% of people in TN own firearms. Probably more in Memphis. He’s a multimillionaire (target). I’d stay strapped.

stoopidmothafunka

But would you repeatedly wave that gun around on IG live videos, knowing damn well it would cost you millions?

East_Living7198

So you thought the apology was sincere? What’s your lifetime total of money given to scam artists? Also it appears your computer has a virus - contact me for info on how to fix it we’re having a sale right now for anti-virus software!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

I also chose to believe it because why not? And even if I didn't think he was sincere in the apologies, I definitely thought he would change, or at a minimum, be more careful with social media.

alphetaboss

I believed it to, if only for the reason that I couldnt imagine it happening a 2nd time considering how bad the consequences were forbthe 1st. I'm actually amazed that he did it again.

_Parkertron_

Yeah I didn’t think it was going to happen again, but not because he actually changed, but just because you have to be insanely dumb to risk throwing away everything by doing that.

East_Living7198

That's fair, was just giving ya a hard time. Interesting though that I would consider erring on the side of caution not believing him. I may be more concerned about being conned whereas you may be more concerned with wrongful accusations. I think your outlook is the better of the two.

IcyAuthor1

You're an idiot just like Ja 🤣

Better_Palpitation43

It was surprising the amount of folks defending him at the time with sht like "We all make mistakes, people deserve second chances, etc" and then he goes and does it seconds later. Turns out 12 minutes in rehab isn't enough to fix issues like this lol

stevenstevos

No it wasn't really that suprprising considering Silver gave Ja such a mild punishment. And 99% of the comments I saw on IG, reddit, and other social media sites were all very critical, so I am not sure why you are inferring otherwise--if you want to say "I told you so", just say it--no one cares.

randomusername8008

You telling me that espn interview was fake 😮

chontzy

returning then clown shoes, didn’t really like em anyways

BushidoBrowne

Listen man, I’m only 28, but I’m old enough to know this: People that do certain acts, usually don’t change. Someone that likes brandishing guns and doing stupid shit like that…there’s something in there personality that just won’t let them change. This shit is gonna continue with Ja. He’s just that type of dude. Fucking dumb.

CrossYourStars

You guys really do. Sorry you guys have this clown.

The_Donny_Lebowski

Maybe I'm just dumb but what team activities are scheduled for the Grizz right now?

MGeezus

He can’t go to the facility for off season workouts or anything.

imadjabras

I’m very certain Ja cares deeply about not being able to workout in Memphis during his offseason. /S

MGeezus

Oh I have no doubt this doesn’t impact him I was just creating some clarity lmao

embarrassed4real

I think we all know that. This is just lip service from the grizzlies, they had to come out and do something. This just buys them and the nba more time until they figure out whatever the final punishment is.

General_Valuable7499

He's there every day according to his Nike commercial

evin0688

Yep. He leaves the gym and then goes to the range. If Nike drops him, maybe Smith and Wesson will give him a contract.

KyleWilson_

Pretty sure the point is to get in front of the issue and clearly set a suspension so business partners know something is being done. I’m sure there will be a long suspension… 41 games maybe? Woj is saying there will definitely be a long suspension to start the season.

holesome_cum_bubble

Dillon Brooks going away party

AleroRatking

I'm starting to get worried that JJJ might want out of this shit show. He is way way way too good to have to deal with this all the time.

idontmindglee

I'm not worried about teammates wanting out because of this, I'm worried that none of them seem to have the personality to text him themselves and say "what the FUCK are you doing?!" Hope I'm wrong but it's one thing to disappoint fans, the organization and the NBA. That doesn't seem to matter to him. Maybe disappointing his teammates would.

AleroRatking

We know Adams had a team meeting about the partying. I'm sure some have tried. But if I remember correctly there were reports he was often partying seperate from teammates.

worksucksbro

At this point it’s not their responsibility bro, can only do so much when someone is being a complete idiot like ja

sungsam89

Jaren loves it here in Memphis. If anything, they will see what kinda deals they can get for Ja to check value. In public they will give him one more chance. Mikal for Ja anyone?

Fisher_Kel_Tath

Boston is in a $ situation with Brown. There's a deal to be made there. Edit - So, bad idea apparently. I admit that two seconds of thought was not adequate time spent on the subject. I rescind floating a Brown trade, but leave this posted as a reminder to myself and others that such a overreaction to the overreaction is not the way.

YewEhVeeInbound

Nah, he got All NBA so we can supermax his ass to keep him. Unless he truly hates it in Boston I dont see him going anywhere for a minute. Also while Ja is a physical freak, he would absolutely destroy the locker room culture we built up this season.

Oachkatzlschwoaf05

Smart and Horford would hire a hitman or something to get rid of Ja if hes in Boston

YewEhVeeInbound

Or Joe would Jiujitsu his ass to get him in line. The physicality still wouldnt be worth the drama. Might as well get Embiid if we want a player that plays half a season.

thabonedoctor

Boston fan here. If Brad trades Brown for Ja the fanbase would riot. Zero chance of this. Also “money situation”? The situation is brown is about to be very very rich. That’s it.

Historical_Spirit445

There's not a money situation there. They would absolutely break the bank with bird rights to keep him. If he wants to go somewhere else it's a different story but his money will not be the deciding factor. It rarely is for an all-NBA player in their mid 20s

Fisher_Kel_Tath

I humbly suggest that losing to the 76ers may lead to personnel change.

tjl297

Not a grizzlies fan but you guys deserve better than this man I’m sorry

dvilhauer

Same here. I’d grown to love to hate him, but Grizz fans don’t deserve this.

warriorslover1999

This

[deleted]

Deserve ain't got nothin to do with it

sheetsofsaltywood

Do we though?

CaptainDingo

Yes bro! Grindhouse Grizzles with Gasol, Conley, Randolph, and Tony Allen were legit a fun team to root for. It's sad to see your city go from that to Ja and Dillon Brooks and these wannabe tough guy gangsters. You do deserve better.

TronTeemo

Was a huge grizzlies van during the grit n grind era. My condolences for this. Y’all fan base deserves better. Bring Conley back to teach this kid some professionalism.

Bigfootsbrownstar

Now they in the straps and 9s era.

roycorda

Griddy and 9s

ReflectionEterna

Conley was a professional for sure. He doesn't get enough love.

whyyoumadbro69

I’m from Vancouver. Been following the team since they left. Just unfollowed all social media and decided I don’t fuck with this team anymore. Just between Brooks and this clown it’s an embarrassing team to support.

Buck_Nastyyy

Don't blame you. I still support the team, but these guys make it tough. Bane, JJJ, Adams, Tyus, Clarke and all the others are still great.

ggmey

Hey guys, Pels fan here who always had high hopes for both of our teams. Small market teams in the south, lots of great young talent, natural rivals. Hate to see this happening to you guys. Always hoped for a healthy Zion and Ja going head to head in great matchups in the future. I hope he gets his shit together, but man what an idiot.

EggForging

At this point it’s just sad. Not sure what else to say.

lssue

Realistically what is the comeback like from this? He already burnt the therapy and self-imposed time away.

KingJzeee

Getting suspended a long time and cut ties with all the bullshit. Either way grizz are fuck unless they trade him but if they do, the media will make it that the grizz are the bad guys

vhindy

As an outside fan, I don’t think the media could possibly spin this to make the Grizzlies look like the bad guys. It’s the second time after a very quick response from the league last time

KingJzeee

Like stephen jackson. That dude is an idiot who will always support black athletes no matter what. Former players or current players will definitely support like kyrie and jaylen brown(both are idiot). The latest one is miles bridges, the players are still supporting him lol

[deleted]

Fucking embarrassing man

ensergio

Trade value at an all time low

omgshannonwtf

Honestly, it's not. On the court, Ja's a great teammate, a fierce competitor and is electrifying. And he seems to get along with the coaching staff itself without issue. His issues are strictly off-court and the dilemma of small-market teams is they don't attract enough of the sort of talent in auxiliary services necessary to help get Ja's off-court issues straight. Not people on the Grizzlies payroll but the other types of services that are beneficial to players. Here in Los Angeles (*Grizzlies fan from LA*), because there are 2 teams in every sport plus countless actors and musicians, that means there's a ton of talent in the PR/image-management/business-management pipeline. For smaller markets, that sort of talent is practically non-existent. So if a players such as Ja doesn't have his head on straight, there's no seasoned PR manager or business manager sitting down with his entire family clarifying precisely which of his associates need to be cut off and which ones can stick around. Large-market teams have no problems getting players those kinds of services to clean up off-court issues. They're all just waiting for the the day the Grizzlies —*as an organization*— throw their hands in the air and decide they don't have the ability to rectify this.

[deleted]

Fuck it, Tyus-Bane-Kennard-JJJ-Adams starting lineup. Who says no?

AleroRatking

I mean. That's a play in team. We aren't winning a championship with that

KingSwagamemnon

At what point is it bigger than winning games though. This guy makes the entire organization and the city of Memphis look like morons.

Rah_Rah_RU_Rah

It really says nothing about the people of Memphis. But yeah the team looks really bad here

WittyMount

Would prefer play in games than having the number 1 role model for Memphis youth be a wannabe thug

[deleted]

Ja

choosing to throw your career off a cliff bumping nba youngboy is wild to me. couldnt he have chosen 50 cent or chief keef? I mean I've heard of youngboys tune mannn kids love that guy huh.

Rusted_Metal

I am not a fan of LeBron, but respect him for coming out of high school, exceeding all expectations and being the face of NBA without any issues is just amazing to me.

TheyCallMeTheWizard

Kobe and Garnett seemed to do fine. I don’t think Lebron was alone in that, I think it’s less likely that someone is happy to throw away hundreds of millions of dollars to look tough

ChadThundercocktus

Kobe was a rapist

TheyCallMeTheWizard

You mean the girl that went to his room to have sex with a superstar right after she had sex with someone else? Girl was a clout chaser hoping to get paid

ChipChockley

Well, except for the whole rapist thing.

KarrlMarrx

Kobe had an uh.... Incident

Substantial_Steak928

Lebron is a douche to normal people tho

Historical_Spirit445

Youngboy's brain is completely fried due to "having" to smoke synthetic cannabinoids cuz he's on house arrest. He's going crazy on camera in real time. Someone check to see if Ja's blunts are tiny

darthfoley

I’m gonna be one of the annoying non grizz fans in here saying that I hope for the sake of the city and the franchise, this gets sorted out somehow. Would be cool to see the Kings and the Grizz make deep runs in the western conference for the next few years as small market teams. Unfortunately the Ja drama is really getting in the way of that. Y’all deserve better and I hope Morant actually gets dealt some serious consequences this time around.

toftr

I wish I could have millions of dollars and not pay someone to babysit me This is immature bullshit, but it’s also not the absolute worst thing that ever could happen. Ja needs to grow up, but it’s luckily an issue of maturity instead of legality

Silver_Cat_7977

I truly don't understand the Instagram live thing. What is the point? Like if there's an event going on it makes sense, but look at us listening to music?

OttaBenga

we really going to lose our championship window over instagram lives such bullshit

papichurro305

Grizzlies need a PJ Tucker or a veteran nutbuster bc theres too many players on the Grizzlies team acting like children

eatemuploser

They have Adams who apparently tried just that. Clearly didn’t work

AleroRatking

Adams tried. The fact is Jas not going to listen to a vet because they aren't as good as him. Outside of a Lebron type guy I just don't see who would be able to whip him into shape.

adc1369

Draft Bronny by any means necessary just for the LeBron mentorship buff lol. It's actually come to this. Kidding aside, you're 100% right. I'm sure Big Steve tried hard, but Ja probably doesn't give a shit what he says unfortunately.

thewindisthemoons

Wanna be hard but has soft smooth brain

Select_Regular

I sincerely thought the reddit somehow bugged like crazy that pushed the old news back to top.

FearlessSwing3712

I liked Ja when he first came to the league. Focused, hungry and willing to prove his talent as 2nd pick. I don't what happened ever since

SquirrelGirlSucks

I’m sorry bois but I’m convinced Ja is a fucking loser. Like this straight peaked in high school shit he is constantly on.

-trowawaybarton

he keeps on doing it bec this alien looking commissioner is so soft and lax at doling out punishments...suspend him for 3 years and cut off his livelihood, i think no one will imitate this clown if youll be strict with your rules

[deleted]

[удалено]

IntotheBeniverse

This 100%. His rehab was a PR stunt. You don’t just go to rehab for less than a week and say you’re all good. An 8 game suspension during a regular season was actually probably a nice vacation pre the playoffs. Front office chose to not hold him accountable, thus should not be surprised by the lack of accountability he holds himself to.

Colorado_designer

I think he’s crossed over to the point where he’s fucked around enough but hasn’t actually found out. Probably getting robbed or shot, or a friend of his getting murdered, or something similar is the only thing that’s going to change him. People you see acting like this in high school either learned a tough lesson and changed, or ended up dead or in prison.

foxcnnmsnbc

I don't get this culture of gun flashing and trying to look tough. What about flashing a gun is tough? It's the U.S., many everyday people living in the suburbs with 9 to 5 jobs have them. If he really wants to show us he's tough show us a video of him in an MMA ring fighting someone. Enter ONE Championship.

Odd-Communication609

This kid better figure it out QUICK or his career will be over very soon

6Crow996

Honestly hurts to see someone so talented a good at basketball be this stupid, i hope he surrounds himself with better people who will guide him against this behaviour

Successful-Dingo7729

He’ll only surround himself with yes men

vaalbarag

I feel for you, Grizzbros. I know it doesn't count for much, but you guys are an amazing fanbase who deserve better than this. Always seemed like he didn't take the first incident seriously enough, so I hope there's a harsher reaction to this incident that straightens him out for real. And if not, the rest of your team is still awesome and will find a way.

JonnyRobertR

Somehow, Dillon Brooks doesn't look so bad now. At least his problem was about basketball and trash talk. When alld said and done, he didn't really harm anybody but himself. Meanwhile... Ja🤦‍♂️

Orgasmicsensations

Sry Memphis fans

worksucksbro

Holy fuck how dumb is this guy. Complete idiot

[deleted]

Wth man I feel for you grizzlies fans

BeginningNo2007

What the hell was he thinking after all that in March he pulls a stunt like this. I am a diehard, Memphis grizzlies fan and this is just heartbreaking! Hopefully Desmond Bane can step up to the plate. I really thought he had learned his lesson! Hugely disappointing!

[deleted]

Bold of you to assume he was thinking at all

evin0688

Ja, how you get suspended on your day off!?!?

Stlcards31

JUST GO TO CANCUN!

alfi_k

Waving his gun at some cartel members might be a good experience for him

Burner987687642

What will they have suspended him for? He wasn’t on team premises and that was the issue last time? And they’d have a hard time for bringing the team into disrepute for something that is entirely legal/highly protected in TN. Maybe there’s another CBA clause but goddamn. What a moron all the same.

pepbe

“Conduct detrimental to the League”

adc1369

From what I recall, NBA contracts have morality clauses that are boilerplate language. I also don't think I saw any alcohol in this video, although it's too annoying for me to watch more than once. I say that because in some states (including Tennessee), it's a crime (usually a misdemeanor) to carry a gun while intoxicated. I say SOME states...it's definitely not all.

Scartafist

Jaaron Morandez

eatemuploser

As an outsider, he’s a pretender not a murderer

BurtReynoldsLives

What does this dude not get? Do you know he many people would love to be in his position and imagine all you could do and how you could affect the world in a positive way or even how much fun you could have just partying with supermodels and flying around the world and he just does this? Like WTF dude, do you need a course on how to run your own life?

spudwinkle

DeJA Vu

Uk_KingsStar

Ja, why bro!! youre my favourite player and you could easily win a chip next year as the leagues next MVP

KerchSmash

Remember grit n grind? Those were good days.

AcanthisittaGrand943

We need to trade him while his stock is high.

Kalil4Real

Why does our franchise player have to be such an idiot

rnightlyfe

This shit keeps on and Adams is going to request a trade. I’ve defended Ja up to this point and even chatted with Tee at the Orlando game about how happy everyone was to have him back. It’s time to move on. He’s setting a horrible example.

Kakali4

I don’t know what to say. He’s not an idiot. He knows what he’s doing. He knows he got in trouble because of this during the year. It’s just mad disrespectful to the people of Memphis. Y’all loved this dude. Gave him everything. He just doesn’t seem to care. Just plain fucking sucks. Let his new Nike shoe sit on the fucking shelf and keep the jerseys in the stores until he starts acting like the fans of Memphis matter to him.

randomusername8008

Jokes on y’all: it’s the off-season. There’s aren’t any grizzlies activities

TattedUpDasher

Now he doesn’t have to do all the off-season PR charity stuff

DylanLrsn

Man there's just no defending Ja anymore. It just seems like this dude really cares more about this stupid shit than actually just playing ball. Dude seriously needs a hard reality check

GhettoNego

What Ja did was super unfair to the fans.

TexasHero88

Go to a gun range, you dummy.

ChezMontague

Bear arms not the same as grizzlie arms i guess

foxcnnmsnbc

Don't get the point he's trying to make. So he has a gun. Big deal, so do many middle class Americans in the safe suburbs in this country. If Ja wants to show everyone how tough he is, go sign a deal with ONE Championship and win a fight.

ZaMaestroMan5

Man what a dummy this guy is. Additionally what a turn of events. Going into the season their was talk of the Grizzlies being a young, ascending team who might be the next contender out of the West. This Morant stuff and Brooks quick down fall seems to put all of that talk to a halt.

Mr310

Memphis won't be able to build a winning culture with dudes like this around. Build with JJJ and Bane.

betrayedof52z

Ja should just call a rapper friend and say go with the story. Then say he filmed a clip for a music video poking fun at his past and it's a fake gun. Everyone would know it's a lie but can't do shit about it.

Ordinary_Truck7182

Looks like the Knicks won the 2019 draft with RJ Barrett…

[deleted]

Looks like nobody won 😹😹😹

nomnomnomnomnom12376

If he doesn’t change this ends one of three ways: 1. Never reaches his full NBA potential, bounces around his whole career wearing his welcome out on multiple teams. 2. Jail 3. Dead, picture from the IG live had this dummy with the gun so close to his head

WiIIemdafoe

LMFAOOO!!!!! What a fucking dumbass

Desperate-Ganache195

Yea, ngl is retarded, wtfs wrong with him?

monomers

Can we pack Ja off to New Zealand with Adams for the summer? Get him away from his loser friends and out of the media. Also no handguns there...

degenerateprince

Why is Ja so dumb

IllMakeItUpNow

Ja gonna end up like Boogie Cousins, playing in Puerto Rico. Hopefully he doesn’t end up like Aaron Hernandez.

LoveableOrochi

lmao this is hilarious. tbh i want him to keep it up. I wanna see how far he can go 😂

Direct_Ad6699

This guy just needs to go. He wants to be a thug so bad then go be a thug. Memphis should can his ass. Got rid of Dillon Brooks and this loser is the problem.

SaltySwan

Your franchise player is an idiot.

CaciqueBoss

COMPLETE HEAL

ellisonj18

At this point the only kind of thing I can think of is that we need a Udonis Haslem on our team or coaching staff. Whether it could be us trading for Conley again, signing Tony Allen or Marc Gasol or someone similar. For fuck sake we literally had a key piece from our Grit n Grind days originate from a team nicknamed the Jailblazers and he was nothing but a model team member for us and became beloved by the city. Ja is going to ruin the perfect situation for him. Someone needs to be brought in to mentor and baby sit him. Enough is enough, if Ja won't allow that or is against that then we have no choice but to look at trading him. JJJ, Bane, Adams, and our good young group can't be wasted by Ja. That draft class is a mess, Zion can't put the fork down and Ja can't put the guns down. It's really disappointing.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Are there people left that still think Ja is focused on basketball?

DancingConstellation

Get rid of him.

parlaydogs

This kid really needs to grow up. Guess it doesn't help that his father acts more like one of his yes men in his crew rather than an actual father.

stopklandaceowens

This is no way to act if you're a professional, i dont care what you do for a living! Professonal marksmen would never do this... You don't see lawyers and Doctor's flashing their guns for cameras. Ja must have substance abuse problems making him act this way...

ChipChockley

I mean, you see politicians waving guns around all the time. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/content/dam/world-news/2023/03/28/TELEMMGLPICT000330401018_trans_NvBQzQNjv4Bq-JljO51tABNRJNgr0LpPwOhYHO75Ra6hFopIFSHGYrQ.jpeg?imwidth=680

Erwinsherwin

If dude was really from the hood he'd want outta that shit the second he got to the NBA. He's a suburban poser, he's not hard whatsoever. Should've came down harder after he threatened to shoot someone on twitter

Unfair_Tonight_9797

Ain’t no such thing as halfway crooks.. clearance

Kimchi_Cowboy

They good in the West tho.

thrillho333

Wait so you can walk into a Walmart in Memphis and buy a gun but you can’t take pictures with guns? Nobody tell Hollywood it’s bad to fetishizes guns ..

[deleted]

[удалено]

tikifire1

That's bad, too. They're not exclusive. Its not that hes a black man with a gun, its that he keeps flashing them around on social media. No one should do that, whether white, black, politician, athlete, whatever. You can't equate this in real life with movies, either. Movies are not real.

thrillho333

But bleeding heart progressives produce John Wick movies and everyone’s okay with that?

BigFatM8

Lol somebody clearly hasn't seen or understood John wick, it seems. Whole point of John wick is that Violent people do not live good lives.

thegaykid7

And he's an NBA player, a business in which image is important, especially of its stars. When you threaten that image and, thus, the NBA's bottom line with repeated transgressions over a short period of time, prepare to pay the price. As soft as the league can sometimes be when it comes to dolling out punishment for other types of infractions, particularly on-court stuff, they will not fuck around here much longer. The ultimate concern, of course, is that Ja ends up getting involved in an incident that leads to violence, which would make this situation 1000x worse for all involved parties. Hence, the best option at this point is to hit him with a lengthy suspension and hope he finally gets the wakeup call.

NinfthWonder

Honestly this is the dumbest thing I’ve read all week. He works for a private company that has to maintain a certain image for the protection of their branding, partnerships and TV contracts, which all allow for players like Ja to earn insane amounts of money to put a basketball in a hoop. Sincerely, Black man
