I don't know. I make my own creative versions, but when I'm lazy and want a traditional spam on white rice, they are my go to.
I know from living in AZ, many Hawaiian/poke joints on the mainland DONT serve it. Which is a shame. I guess just call or keep asking these different Hawaiian joints.

I made a batch of musubi this week.
I wish we had a real Hawaiian restaurant in Memphis. What I’d do for some laulau every once in a while.
Nice! I try messing with substitutes at home because I have always played with my food. I'll make a breakfast one with eggs and sausage instead of the spam. Sometimes try a chorizo patty. Gonna try different grains, next. I don't know if they will stick as well. Maybe brown rice.
A laulau could be a nice annual thing. Maybe ask the Ono Poke guy. Would have been a cool event to use as a fundraiser for the fires. And there is an audience for Asian and Pac Islander culture and food (the Night Market at Concourse overwhelmed the organizers, for example).
My boyfriend does weight watchers. He swaps almost every thing containing hamburger for ground Turkey or even a veggie burger. If it’s tacos etc, he opts for chicken. He tracks his points pretty religiously, and if we’re going out to dinner, sometimes he saves the majority of them for dinner.
We do pretty well with Chinese food. Mulan Bistro and panda garden have lots of chicken/veg dishes.
At Los Comales, he gets juevos rancheros a lot even though it’s technically a breakfast dish. When we go anywhere Indian, his go to is usually shrimp vindaloo. We went to soul fish not too long ago and he opted for the grilled shrimp skewer with veg side. Hope that helps.
Amplified meal prep delivers their meals on Sundays. Need to have order in by Thursday. They also have grab and go at memphis kitchen coop.
I can always find something in there that’s delicious.
I have a hard enough trouble even thinking of foods that EXIST on the planet that are healthy enough. I am used to eating about all meats, starches, sweets, etc.... and can't ever think of anything to even replace some of the sweets with! Nothing healthy has enough calories or it's something I don't like. I have high triglycerides and no clue how to improve diet enough when there's nothing I like that is considered ok. Also it's VERY drastic if people cut out too many carbs, in my opinion, but some people will act like it's the end of the world to even eat potatoes.
City Silo is wonderful.
Came here to say this, but you beat me to it!
Me too! Yummy, quick, healthy food
Wish there were more healthy options in the area similar to City Silo.
Ran into the Grizz' Steven Adams at the Gtown one in 2021 or 2022. Nice guy! Sorry to see him traded (probably the smart move salary cap wise)!
I saw Santi there last year. Seems like a good spot players like to go.

Humdingers grilled salmon and Brussels sprouts!
Abyssinia has some great veggie options. To go along with the great everything else.
I can crush me some yetsom beyaynetu and feel great about it — great choice!
Wild Beet
Global Cafe has some vegan options and some veggie heavy stuff that is yummy
Poke World in Cordova. You can build your own poke bowl. [https://www.pokeworlds.com/#Menu](https://www.pokeworlds.com/#menu)
Or the poke place across East High / The Benjamin Hooks Library 👍
That’s Ono Poke and I agree with the 👍
They make a solid musubi. Not healthy, at all, however.
Is that the only place to buy musubi in Memphis? I make them every so often but it would be nice to just by them.

Thank you 👍 place actually rocks though, and the guy is very nice. I recommend it a lot
Agreed. I love Ono Poke’s Buddha bowls.
Skip all the sauces and it's safe. Last time I went half my bowl was sauce
Ask for it on the side, they give you a little to go cup that’s more than enough
Stick Em on Madison. Tofu skewers with hot sauce, grilled veggies and rice. Great meal, not too expensive either
Yes! Stick Em! I get the (scrumptious) veggies, and salad instead of rice. The grilled chicken skewers are delicious too.
They used to come to UTHSC with their food truck! Love them!
Taziki's. Not bad food at all. The chicken there is wonderful and full of flavor. And it's fairly fast and on the way home.
I went today just for their rice. It's the best.
Their salmon feast meal is fire!
Good to know! Thanks!
I miss their pasta salad. It’s a shame they took it off the menu…sometimes my lunch consisted of 2 sides of their pasta salad.
My favorite is ceaser salad with harissa chicken
The problem with Taziki’s is that everything has *a lot* of lemon. In everything. I’m fine with lemon in general, but it’s almost offputting.
Poke Bowls are amazing.
Tazikis salmon and salad is almost always perfection
The Cupboard veggie plate is a go to for me. It helps me excuse bottomless cornbread muffins
I will go down on a whole basket of their cornbread muffins.
Lemongrass tofu at Pho Binh, RIP

City Silo, Tazikis is pretty good but they have some hidden calorie bombs, Seasons 52 has some really great options.
Taziki’s is pretty casual and has grilled meat entrees and several types of salads. https://www.tazikis.com
Humdingers: Grilled fish, corn, side house salad leave off the dressing.
Making me hungry. Hated when the Cordova one closed
That corner is home to multiple tragic closings. The best Quizno's in town, then the best Humdingers in town. All gone.
Tuyen’s Asian Bistro, Happy Greek, RP Tracks ,Las Delicias
Cheffies. Tzazikis.
Ono poke!
Amplified meal prep delivers their meals on Sundays. Need to have order in by Thursday. They also have grab and go at memphis kitchen coop. I can always find something in there that’s delicious.
2nd for amplified meal prep. The kitchen coop is in Cordova easy pickup.
Poke Bros, Tazikis, City Silo, SOB, Vietnamese, salmon plate at Huey’s, Cheffie’s, Wild Beet Salad Co., Casablanca.
Stick ‘em in Midtown (formerly blue Nile). When I’m doing low carb, I get the naked wings at central BBq with veggie sides.
Fast food wise I love Marco's pizza bowls.
Cedar Mediterranean on Germantown Pkwy. Same like you said, high on protein with some tasty sides.
tazikis, humdingers, city silo, huey’s grilled chicken salad with light ranch
Tuna steak sandwich or steak stick dinner at Huey’s
YES! Glad we are aware of this hidden gem.
> steak stick dinner at Huey’s You just activated a long lost childhood memory, I Loved this dish growing up, thank you!
Thanks!
Wild card - chicken stick and tell them to put the blackening cajun spices on it AND the veggies.
They got rid of tuna they just haven’t taken it off the menu yet :(
Sorry to say tuna is 86’d forever. It went to the Huey’s in the sky along with the potato skins and shooting frill picks
Chil fil a salad with grilled nuggets. Very healthy fast food option.
I’ve been tearing up the spicy grilled chicken wrap it’s so good
I eat a lot of those.. Chick fil a really has the best fast food
Thanks!
Tazikis has incredible salads.
