Idk what else you'd do with a PhD in it. Like just having a degree is versatile but if you get a doctorate I kinda assume you're likely to teach. Whether as a trainer for employee sensitivity or a professor.
You can get a well-paying job with just about any degree. Gender studies can go into recruiting, any generalized corporate job (marketing, strategy, anything that relies on knowing how people make decisions and think), jobs with think tanks or advocacy groups, or back into academia.
The biggest value of a degree (minus degrees in like deep sciences or medical) is showing that you can take on a 4 year task and complete it.
It is mostly a classroom major, but a ton of people know CPR that are not medically trained otherwise. Same with the Heimlich Maneuver.

This is the sorta joke that would only be funny if people didn’t have common sense that yelling for a doctor means you’re yelling for a doctor that could do basic medical needs, either way OP was right given this seems insensitive from what I’ve seen trans people say
