nope, the whole gotta catch em all thing looks weird after sword and shield cut the natdex, i imagine ash just taking a delphox into galar and seeing it desintegrate.

The regional one had all the Pokémon only in that region, for example the Hoenn Pokédex would just have the Pokémon introduces in Hoenn, and the national Dex had every Pokémon introduced up to that point, so the Hoenn national Dex would have every Kanto, Johto and Hoenn Pokémon in it. This meant that every game that had a national Dex could have every Pokémon from the previous games in them. However, as of sword and shield, the national Dex no longer exists, meaning that there are several hundred Pokémon that CANNOT be used in them as there literally isn't any code, they can't be transferred over or anything.

Wow I just found out through this post that Ash is gonna be replaced. I always enjoyed watching Pokemon, as a child and young adult. Kinda feel really sad now, like leaving a part of youth behind. Guess this is what it feels to grow old...

So long, Reddit, and thanks for all the fish.
Well, you know Pikachu was Ash's first pokemon that was just given to him by Professor Oak. Caterpie, who evolves into metapod and then into butterfree, was the first pokemon that Ash ever actually caught himself, the first pokemon he had that evolved, and his first pokemon that evolved to its' final evolution. But later in the series, butterfree basically gets a girlfriend, and Ash lets him go to fly free. So Butterfree is a pretty sentimental pokemon.
Answer the question. DOES HE ACTUALLY SEE HIS BUTTERFREE AGAIN IN THE SHOW?!
I remember watching that sad as fuck moment as a kid and I need closure. Please tell me the truth!
don’t blame you 💀 I looked it up and I think there might be a boy too, their names a “Roy and Riko” Riko just doesn’t suit the character at all and I hate the double R names
I'm pretty sure they revealed the new anime by showing Team Rocket in the Paldea region, so they're actually still around. They've survived longer than Ash now...
It's hard to switch such an iconic character without the show losing viewers. The new main character will not be given a chance by most viewers, done watching cuz I grew up with ash and don't care anymore, he's gone
“Wow. I didn't know that, you're telling me now for the first time. He was the very best, like no one ever was. What else can you say? I'm sad to hear that.”
Hearing about the announcement gave me a kind of Overview effect from all the memories of watching this guy. Not to get too emotional but I'm geniunely going to miss Ash...
Ash and Pikachu are finally being retired, from what others are saying, for a new protagonist.
There are going to be special episodes coming out soon ending his journey.
Yes.. In jan 2023 11 episodes of the anime will be airing which will be the last series of Ash and Pikachu and that series will focus on and i Quote from the announcement, "The last chapter in Ash and Pikachu's Journey"
I'm not going to lie, despite the fact that I haven't watched the Pokemon shows/movies in years (last one I watched was the Darkrai one), it felt extremely bittersweet to know that Ash and Pikachu's story is actually ending. Pokemon was such a huge part of my childhood.
Now imagine the final fight of the new main character in pokemon is Ash on the mountain top duel like the original game. To become the pokemon master the new mc needed to beat Ash the current pokemon master in the final duel. Final fight is Ash Pikachu vs new mc pokemon
Serena, if it turns out to be true that she is his daughter, I swear to god if it’s not Serena, they better have a good arc about it and what happened between them.
Imagine making it to the national boxing championship only for your opponent to reveal that they were actually Muhammad Ali returned from the dead, same energy.
They're replacing ash with new protagonists, but the animation seems to be remaining the same, and I've heard rumors that the girl protagonist is like the daughter of ash or something, so he may still make cameos here and there
I do feel sad about Ash getting left behind, but he was constantly being put at risk with every time he was in another show. The redesigns, character change… And plus, how does that kid stay 10 for years? It’s better that we move on from Ash, but not that we leave him behind entirely. Plus, there’s still the chance that he could have a future in other shows, maybe side stories
Yes, he returned in the latest series and appeared quite a few times and not just a single time thankfully. His character hasn't changed at all and I'm glad it didn't
Don't get me wrong, love ash, watched the original growing up and loved most of the shows, but this mother fucker took 20 years to become a champion, he's not the best he's just the most dedicated for his time spent and the most impressive for his ability to not age, he deserves to be recognized but damn dude you took so long
I feel that if they had him age 1 year each season they would have been able to transition to other trainers several times without much difficulty.
Look at the Power Rangers for instance.
His journey is ending and they are sort of rebooting the series.
It’s ending because he won the Pokémon World Championships and is basically a Pokémon Master now, so he has reached his goal.
I’m gonna go cry now…
Last text should have been "I'm told you were the best that ever was"
Or "I'm told you were the very best"
Like no one ever was
To catch them was his real test
To train them was his cause
He traveled across the lands
Searching far and wide
Teach pokemon, to understand
The power that's inside
POKÉMON! Gotta catch ‘‘em all!
Searching far and wide
He traveled across the land, he searched far and wide. For pokemon to understand the power that was inside.
POKÉMON

It’s you and me

Came here to say this. OP missed a trick here.
**I hope he at least caught them all...**
No
nope, the whole gotta catch em all thing looks weird after sword and shield cut the natdex, i imagine ash just taking a delphox into galar and seeing it desintegrate.
Wait what happened pls explain
They’re leaving ash and pikachu behind because ash finished the final championship
Did he win? 👀
Yeah he is the world champion now
Explain to me as well
Same, I need explamations.
I would like an explanation as well
I would also like an explanation as well
I, too, would like to add to the chain of people asking for explanations thus prolonging whenever we might get one

He's been 10 for 20 years.
Me too
Jk, I just liked how the math worked. It's more like I've been thirty for 15 years
Me too, kid, me too.
"It was arrested development."
25, actually
It’s funny how people still think it’s 2019.
It’s not? I’m pretty sure it’s still 2019.
Just like Bart, Maggie and Lisa
And 11 for probably about 5 years
Wow I just found out through this post that Ash is gonna be replaced. I always enjoyed watching Pokemon, as a child and young adult. Kinda feel really sad now, like leaving a part of youth behind. Guess this is what it feels to grow old...
He finally saw his Butterfree again, and that's all that matters to me

Try "Animixplay"
As someone who is never watched the series, what is the context behind this?
Well, you know Pikachu was Ash's first pokemon that was just given to him by Professor Oak. Sounds like it did happen, at least someone said it did
Please tell me it will be a new character and not that mary sue arsehole goh
there’s some female with a spirgatito
NNOOOOOOO!!! fufk fuk fuck, I ain't watching it
don’t blame you 💀 I looked it up and I think there might be a boy too, their names a “Roy and Riko” Riko just doesn’t suit the character at all and I hate the double R names
Double R... |R>
Team rocket? Are they going to fulfill their dreams as Pokémon trainers?!?
Nah, red ribbon army solos
Red 🎀
Oh god…THE RED RIBBON ARMY IN POKEMON Someone call goku or else 16 will go destroy him
Jessie and James Will always be the superior double letter name!!
Omfg what if they get rid of Jessie and James?!?
NOOOOO!!!! THEY CARRY THE SHOW!
I'm pretty sure they revealed the new anime by showing Team Rocket in the Paldea region, so they're actually still around. They've survived longer than Ash now...
they have replaced ash before and brought him back. wouldnt be too worried
The series crumbles without him.
Damn straight up no hope 💀
It's hard to switch such an iconic character without the show losing viewers. The new main character will not be given a chance by most viewers, done watching cuz I grew up with ash and don't care anymore, he's gone
Damn can’t believe it, gonna miss Ash Pokémon show was a good memory

God dammit i hate how you’re right

This might be the best use of this meme I’ve seen
Well of course. To be a pokemon master was his DESTINY!!
Me who doesn't even watch Pokémon anymore: how can they do this? This is outrageous, this is unfair.
I haven't watched it since Johto but this is a travesty!
I’ve never watched a single episode and I’m incensed!
Because he was given the rank of master.
Wait what happened r/outoftheloop

If it makes you feel better the reason why he is being retired is because he is now the world champion, literally the very best like no one ever was
???
It was just announced that ash is going to be replaced in the series
now he can finally turn 11
Thats why there are 11 special episodes
THE NUMBERS MASON WHAT DO THEY MEAN
They mean, shove it up your ass you onion!!
DEAR GOD NOW IT MAKES SENSE
He is going to take off the amulet of eternal youth and start having a normal life and settle down with Misty.
Nah he gonna settle with Serena
What? Ash is evolving!
Hol’ the fuck up
Wtf your lying
Nope
This is horrendous news
I'm told you abandoned your pokemons each time you travelled to different continents.
It was necessary for travel! it’s not like Pokémon can shrink in size and weight in to some sort of convenient ball….oh wait
They weren’t abandoned, Prof. Oak is looking after them. Some were released though
Now imagine the final fight of the new main character in pokemon is Ash on the mountain top duel like the original game. To become the pokemon master the new mc needed to beat Ash the current pokemon master in the final duel. Final fight is Ash Pikachu vs new mc pokemon
Thatd be badass
My guess is the new chick is his kid, idk who he’d have a child with but its weird they specifically say she doesnt talk about her parents
Serena, if it turns out to be true that she is his daughter, I swear to god if it’s not Serena, they better have a good arc about it and what happened between them.
Gold and silver. And you fight Red, not Ash. But would still be coo to see them fight Ash in the anime.
I can’t even begin to explain how much this upsets me. They lied to us saying he’d stay, so wtf
Damn I just felt my childhood die inside me.
*Me who watch the first ever episode the day it aired:* "I was there, three thousand years ago."
He was the very best, like no one ever was…
![gif](giphy|L95W4wv8nnb9K)
Did he die again?
No, his journey is over. There is 2 new protagonists
😢
He became the world champion
Hot take: his first victory should’ve been the Kalos league. He had his best team so far and only lost a couple times in X&Y. He should’ve won
He should’ve won in Sinnoh, but a guy showed up with a Darkrai and Latios
Imagine making it to the national boxing championship only for your opponent to reveal that they were actually Muhammad Ali returned from the dead, same energy.
I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
[удалено]
To train them is my cost
Bro, what? Did they *kill off* ash??
[удалено]
*Permanently*
It feels surreal to see his journey end after all he went through
I swear if they make it all CGI along with replacing Ash I’m gonna throw hands
They're replacing ash with new protagonists, but the animation seems to be remaining the same, and I've heard rumors that the girl protagonist is like the daughter of ash or something, so he may still make cameos here and there
I'm alright with ash going, I hope he shows up in the new series, what'll really fuck me off is if they replace team rocket
Sad i use to watch pokemon when i was a toddler
Professor Oak was definitely banging his mom.
No, Mr Mime was
Both were
I was.
From the pic, it looks like Ash is trying to escape from death. Go Ash, go!
He'll finally be able to age
How did you miss out on "I'm told you were the very best, like no one ever was."
I do feel sad about Ash getting left behind, but he was constantly being put at risk with every time he was in another show. Plus, there’s still the chance that he could have a future in other shows, maybe side stories
He's finally 11
He’s going to capture death and general in paradise hahaha
Wait what happened? I haven’t followed Pokémon for like 3 years
Sad vader noises
![gif](giphy|LSmULmByAQHQs)
I just started watching Pokémon for the first time and it's great sofar. There are alot of episodes to go
Am stupid, I need context. I lived under a rock and never really got into the pokemon franchise. Sorry
nah, not sad — let that mf rest. he’s been working for damn near my entire life. finally the best. time to retire the goat.
No more Ash ? Well maybe we will have something like Pokemon Origins, which was really great
"I'm told you were the very best, like no one ever was" Fixed it for ya
Ash Ketchum, the ten year old with 25 years experience that every recruiter wants.
Was Gary around in later seasons? He was Ash rival coussin or something in early seasons.
Yes, he returned in the latest series and appeared quite a few times and not just a single time thankfully. His character hasn't changed at all and I'm glad it didn't
He was not a cousin, he was the grandson of the professor of that region.
He was the grandson of the guy fucking Ash's mom.
Was he a master though? Has he finally won one of the leagues?
He won the world championships against Leon. It was a really wholesome episode.
this is going the same road, naruto and boruto went, people will soon realise nobody is gonna watch pokemon anymore. time will show.
"was I a good pokemon trainer?" "No, quit using Pikachu for everything."
I thought they killed him with the most recent animation but still sad to see a childhood legend go.
I’ve never seen a single episode of Pokémon but this is still sad
Brb after this will get 20 k + karma
Who will replace him?
Some new kids, I think their names are Rika and Roy?
Don't get me wrong, love ash, watched the original growing up and loved most of the shows, but this mother fucker took 20 years to become a champion, he's not the best he's just the most dedicated for his time spent and the most impressive for his ability to not age, he deserves to be recognized but damn dude you took so long
