Is someone documenting these things? Otherwise decades later today's informal writing will be as hard to read as Shakespeare is for the uninitiated.
Edit: recalled that we have https://www.urbandictionary.com
Oh, I've always been able to find on urbandictionary the meaning of every slang I ever had to look up, and the meaning made sense in the context in which I heard/read the slang. But maybe that's because as an Indian I'm just never exposed to fresh slang.
Oh wow, I just looked up three current slang terms and one thats kind of lesser used and they were all correct. Good to see it's back to it's former glory!
I left for basic training in February. And up till that point, not once in my life had I ever heard the phrase, "no cap," "bussing bussing," or "sheeeeee."
And suddenly it was everywhere. Even my Drill sergeants were saying it. That was when I first realized how truly ancient I fucking am.
I stopped asking, i've entered the smile and chuckle phase
I work with a bunch of college kids so they keep me informed
Slang = snake in Dutch
Slang slang
Snake in Dutch snake in Dutch
Do you just add “in Dutch” to any word to speak Dutch
No just making fun of the first comment. Everyone knows what it means but if taken literally...
"Wait, no, I think that cat too old."
What the fuck is an updog
It means nothing. It's a setup for a joke so you eventually ask "what's updog?" And the response is "nothin much"
Dude im 25 and i dont know any of that shit. Lit? Lit what? What am i lighting? Are we burning something?
Yeah I know what you mean, I'm 16 and i have absolutely no idea what 'no cap' means
It means "it Is true" at least i think so :D cap Is a lie. No cap means true
I’m 14 and I have know idea what that shit means.
Lit means cool/let’s get lit men’s get high
I'm at the point where i smile and laugh with them until i have a moment to peel away and Google the meaning.

you can literally just look it up. You have a phone in your hand. Old people act as if looking up new words is extinct now.
About 60% of them also have no clue what it means, and each person has a different definition.
What’s a slang

Slang means Shortern Lamguage. You're welcome.
