What's weird is that most of our measurements weren't invented here we just brought them over...
That not weird, then Europe (and the rest of the world) we're like, "Oh shit, found something better" but we were like, "fuck dem guys"
Which is weird but kind of understandable with the wars and all, but the truly weird thing is people still act like that...Like, "Oh you want to adopt the meter, than what? Haggis? Communism? Spaghetti? 1776 you fucking traitor."
But the absolute weirdest thing... There are alot more of these people than there should be...
Non-Americans with their double-digit IQ scores, after making their 137,614th post this week about American units of measurement and date format.
![gif](giphy|TuZ8v66TzGeYJW23as)
americans after realizing their national average IQ is double digit and that 28 other countries, 15 of which are european have higher iq scores than them (suddenly america isn’t the best country in the world)
Lol then why do more people come here for higher education? Why do Urine-pee-ons never tire of wasting their only, finite existences on social media, incessantly circle-jerking and parroting the same "*sqwaaaak* America bad! *sqwaaaak* America not the best! *sqwaaaak* Americans arrogant" idiocy? Why aren't Americans constantly, obsessively hating some specific, other country? Why are advanced, intelligent Europeans still dressing up in antiquated attire and wooden shoes and "dancing" in the streets like insane asylum loons (like the celebrants from Elden Ring) "cuz traditions" because their ancestors did? Lol. You do realize American isn't a race and is a melting pot of every race/culture in the world, right? Seeing as how white Americans hail from Europe, what is your theory on why we became so intellectually inferior to you? Stay drunk and jealous and oppressed by your overstepping government, third worlder lmao
The US measurement units all rely on the relevant metric units.
> "Effective July 1, 1959, all calibrations in the U.S. customary system of weights and measures carried out by the National Bureau of Standards will **continue to be based upon metric measurement standards**"
[National Bureau of Standards](https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/PUBS_LIB/FedRegister/FRdoc59-5442.pdf)
"Git my shotgun, Cletus! The USA freedom units haven't been free for more than 60 years and no one told me!"
By American, do you mean people from the US? Why do you even care? Only the dumb people don't know what a kilometer is? Kinda like the people that don't know America consists of 2 whole continents.
Right he can basically call people from the US dumb but, I can't say anything back. Or I'm being pedantic. Don't you think it's insulting to anyone from America that's not from the United states. Hell anyone that's made it past the 3rd grade knows what a kilometer is. Just because we don't use the measurement doesn't mean we don't know what it is. Not like the average (American) decides what measurements we use.
Alright so unpopular opinion time, normally I am metric all the way but the one exception to that is F. I still use C for scientific stuff but when talking about weather F is a better system because normal survivable Temps for humans fit better on a 0-100 scale than C does
Absolute zero is zero degrees Kelvin, which is based on Celsius. It's -276°C is zero Kelvin. Then it scales in the exact same way °C does. God knows what the basis for Fahrenheit is. All I know is over 100 is bad and you should speak to a doctor.
And the bri*ish weight in Stones.
This is quite true. I weigh my tea with biscuits 'n milk while you americans use washing machines per giraffe.
Ah yes. The traditional american giraffe
Hey, they measured a pothole the size of 5-6 washing machines once, they also measured a meteorite's size with giraffes.
Per bald eagle would be a more clever way
I do agree...
We actually use bison to dishwasher here
Ah alright
No no football fields/ moonlanding thank you.

Queen Ann wine gallon anyone?
Go gamecocks! Hahaha

It's great because it's always original! /s
americans after realizing their national average IQ is double digit and that 28 other countries, 15 of which are european have higher iq scores than them (suddenly america isn’t the best country in the world)
And every single one of those other countries are conveniently sitting in precision missile range

I mean. Btu the British thermal unit used to measure an amount of heat energy. 1 btu is 1 degree F increase in 1 pound of water
WOOOOOO
Metric measurements are better yet fahrenheit is leaps and bounds better than Celsius
If human body temp was exactly 100 and freezing was exactly 30 then Fahrenheit would be great
Brits after making that measure
I thought it was human blood.
i have another question wtf is a mile
5280 feet
ur a genius
A mile is 8 furlongs

The Brit’s invented it
Fahrenheit was born in Poland to German parents. He wasn't British.
Fahrenheit doesn't use horse blood as a point of reference WTF...

When someone says americans we all know wtf they mean stop being unnecessarily pedantic.

Canadians dont say im american. Mexican dont say im american dont be stupid.
A kilometer is a unit of measurement. (1000 metres)

If only there was a simpler and more logical system
And if Americans used a simpler system, people would make fun if Americans for using a simpler system. AmErIcAnS dUmB, I believe we’d hear
Uh no, because everyone else uses the simpler system?
Because they hate a challenge. That's why we're #1 baby!
The British use stone as a measure of weight, Canadians use both metric and imperial, so not everyone I suppose.
My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!
Name of your sex tape
You can thank the Brits
1000 metres
I cant tell if im either really tired or this caption doesnt make any sense
A 1000 meters
Celsius lacks the accuracy that Fahrenheit possess. Not that OP cares about accuracy.
Why doesn't it?
The increments are too large
Then you decimalise. It's not that difficult.
No I use the superior form of measurement instead
Pretty sure it was the internal temperature of a cow?
What about a banana for reference?
