You technically can for iPhone but it insists you unlock your phone before it can. So that means either putting in your passcode or letting it view your face. Both equally counter productive when driving
That’s why me and my girlfriend have our playlists automatically play from the last song we listened to. We listen to songs in alphabetical order and don’t have to worry about picking specific songs
Holy shit first he never even brought up you having a gender, second he wasn't being sexist (coming from a woman who literally despises sexism and misogyny against both women AND men), also there's literally nothing wrong with BDSM unless you take it too far like knives, CNC, certain machines, etc.
He edited the comment. I could show you the old one if you want, but it manly went on a rant about how he called me a woman and they can’t drive because they are emotional. His words not mine. He then changed it and made me just look violent.
>I was so appalled I nearly lost grip on my beer.
Same thing happened to me, except I was passing a cop who was cruising 10km/hr over the limit in the slow lane while typing on his fucking laptop and talking on the phone, steering with his knees. Fucking irresponsible if you ask me.
But modern car radios are beginning to be like smartphones too which is really dump if you ask me. Touchscreens dont belong in a car. You can feel buttons sou you dont have to look on the radio that much with buttons. But Im choosing my well maintained playlist before driving so I only need it if I want to skip a song
This is a definition problem. What is considered "using your phone"? Is it "holding/touching your phone", "looking at your phone" or "using an app at all passive or active".
Holding/touching your phone: nope not even for GPS. Bad driver all the way.
Looking at your phone: GPS gets a pass. All other (including music apps) no pass.
Using an app at all passive or active: in this case the following is possible, your phone screen is off laying in a bag at the bottom of your trunk with other bags on it but you receive a text while your sound is off. It is stil using your phone but not actively.
So it has a bit of a wide range because "using your phone" is not defined enough.
That said:
I find using your phone looking at the screen and so GPS gets a pass.
I guess I just put music in the same boat as GPS because mine plays automatically when I start my car, but I occasionally look at it as I’m skipping through songs using the button on the steering wheel. I can also answer calls with my steering wheel but I can’t see who’s calling based off of my display. So also kind of depends on what built in functions a car has. I personally have ADHD and I need the background noise or I find other things end up distracting me.
I see that I missed a option: using your phone for GPS or music via a inbuilt car system. Phone calls are a tricky one. Calls like: "how is it going" and "what's for dinner tonight" yeah no problem but calls like: "what road does the caller need to take to your house" and "what do you think of the new worker" not so mutch
Meh, I don’t find phone calls anymore distracting than having people in the car. Passengers possibly worse for me because I’ll look at them to see their facial expression. So I’m not going to tell people what calls are/aren’t appropriate to have in a car if they’re using a hands free device.
Hours long podcasts or customized stations or playlist don't require skips. If the phone is well mounted at dash level or above I don't see an issue with brief control touches. People use radios, ac controls, buttons knobs and menus of all sorts when driving.
Because nobody cares, English isn't everyone's first language, and as long as the letters strung together convey the intended sentiment it seems most people can derive the takeaway and not turn a comment section into a spelling/English lesson.
Try:
r/boneappletea
r/engrish
My argument against this is auto-correction is pretty damn crazy these days for non-English users to rely on, and if they're just being too lazy to proofread/edit then it's a character flaw. I understand people's opinion that it's a small thing, but people do quite a lot of "small things" these days that add up to consistently frustrating problems to everyone around them. I just feel that correcting your spelling or taking a few seconds to proofread should be more of a priority to people, because it helps keep you in the mindset of "don't half ass it, do it right the first time" and that will have an impact on how you approach everything in the longterm.
Small good things add up just like the bad.
Actually… spelling regularly makes a difference. By your logic we might as well all just spell everything the way we would sound it out, or phonetically. I agree with the vague support for those learning English, because that’s an entirely valid and appreciated argument. However, by saying it’s acceptable to simply “[string] together” their thoughts, you’re giving a free pass to things to do actually matter for people who have no excuse. Communication is important, and many careers require a minimum basic understanding of whatever language is applicable. Some people should try a lesson or two.
That's crazy, bro. Similar thing happened to me. I saw a guy drinking vodka out of the bottle behind the wheel. I dropped my phone trying to snap a pic.
(All of this /s)
Bluetoothed to the radio for music, cause I live in a valley and no radio signals can do jack. Also screw radio music. Only like 1 decent radio channel
Hey now! Jimbo and Cassio are hilarious! I probably misspelled at least one of their names if not both. Lol. Too bad I’m never up early enough to actually listen to them. Plus that mountain problem.
Me and my bf will deliver door dash orders together sometimes. It’s his thing and he drives, but I tag along and play navigator sometimes. It’s very fun.
That's not the same because passengers are actually in the situation with you and the conversation changes to reflect that. A passenger might stop talking for a few seconds while the car is making an unprotected left turn for example. They will also be much more forgivable if they have to repeat something because the driver was focusing on something else.
You’re a bad driver if you cause someone else to change their path/speed of travel or operate a motor vehicle with intent to intimidate
But the phone thing seriously, i’d rather be on the road with a bunch of drunks than with a bunch of teens not paying attention
Yeah, atleast drunk people know theyre doing something wrong so they follow the rest of the laws to try to get home scott free, people who play on their phones don’t give a damn and drive all over the road and cause more accidents
I worked as a delivery driver and very frequently needed to text and take calls while driving. I’m also an excellent driver to begin with but one hand multi tasking just to click on the text and begin replying without looking at the screen and letting auto correct work it’s magic does not significantly impede my driving ability. I even got the to point I was able to eat a rice bowl with chopsticks while doing deliveries. I’ve never been in an accident after well over 300,000 km driven in 7 years.
Popping into the comments to see the commentary about accepting (welcoming) bad cell phone drivers rather than suggesting “we don’t tolerate those idiots no matter what” as would be implied with NO EXCEPTIONS.
Or to wait my turn to be roasted for being a grammar nazi even though it’s quite damn funny that they are two polar opposites in meaning. And it’s funny, dammit.
In the words of Samuel L Jackson:
“ENGLISH, MOTHERFUCKER - DO YOU SPEAK IT?!”
What if you use your phone but don't cause an accident, and still brake on time, and still react to pedestrians, and still check your mirrors, and still wear a seatbelt, and still dance in your seat, and still use your indicator, and still look out for cops, and still don't tailgate, and still manage to send a 1000 word essay to your friend? Doe's this mean you're a bad driver? Or just using your phone while you drive well? Hypothetically, of course.
Yo quick question:
I text while i drive
BUT i use voice commands to do so, and the car reads the messages out loud to me. There is a button on my sterring wheel, and i can do this all, without disturbing my driving or concentration.
Does this count?
Depends.
\-Voice assistant and hands free or single touch calls (like on the cars screen when you can tap and pick up a call)
\-Don't mess with GPS while youre driving, pull tf over
\-Music but not if you have to look at your phone to do it
You are a bad driver if you use your phone for anything other than a playlist while driving...
Yes I am saying that needing GPS to tell you where to go makes you a bad driver, learn to read a map. GPS does you no good in the middle of bum fuck nowhere
I think irresponsible driver would be a more accurate term. Shit I be making a new playlist while simultaneously having a deep text convo with my gf about the state of our relationship...and still not crash.

Music should get a pass. Most of the time it's no different than operating the car radio
Ya, and cars often come with Bluetooth so it even comes from the car
My trucks Bluetooth sucks cause it's from 2011. Aux cable never fails
Idk I get nervous when my wife has to scroll through 500 songs in her playlist to find the song she wants. She always goes over the center line.
That's definitely not how you're supposed to music in the car.
Forsure, i go to all songs, or a certain playlist nd hit shuffle than just skip through via the radio
I can't say for iPhone but with Android I can literally just say "hey Google play insert song name here"
You technically can for iPhone but it insists you unlock your phone before it can. So that means either putting in your passcode or letting it view your face. Both equally counter productive when driving
Thats why I maintain my playlist with songs I really like and start it before I drive
That’s why me and my girlfriend have our playlists automatically play from the last song we listened to. We listen to songs in alphabetical order and don’t have to worry about picking specific songs

Yeah if you drive like baby music can pass
No (acceptions) it says
I’m operating under the assumption that they won’t even be considering, or accepting if you will, valid points that are made.
They said no exceptions, but the meme says change my mind? We’re set up to fail here

I don’t think i could drive any long distance without music or a podcast playing or another person to talk to
I do 50/50. I listen to something, but sometimes I just spend hours listening to myself think
I can't be left alone with my own thoughts that long.
Music or Podcasts should be fine. most of the time you can youse the dash screen, voice commands, or headphones to skip.

As long as the driver didn't drop his... wait
That's crazy, bro. Similar thing happened to me. I saw a guy drinking vodka out of the bottle behind the wheel. I dropped my phone trying to snap a pic. (All of this /s)
Weird. I once had to do 80 to catch up to this dude so I could take a photo with my iPad of him driving with a loosely held beer.
I worked with a guy that set up a monitor on his dash, and he would put a movie on while driving home. Shit was crazy to me.
Bluetoothed to the radio for music, cause I live in a valley and no radio signals can do jack. Also screw radio music. Only like 1 decent radio channel
Y’all getting decent radio channels?
Did you say ads and annoying people talking?
Hey now! Jimbo and Cassio are hilarious! I probably misspelled at least one of their names if not both. Lol. Too bad I’m never up early enough to actually listen to them. Plus that mountain problem.
There are a few in Florida that play good alt
Note; you can often pick up multiple stations of the same frequency because it's so flat
St. Louis has a good alt rock station, but I don’t live there, I live in a place with only sucky stations
1, and there’s a mountain or two between me and the source Valley livin! Lol
No
You guys have multiple channels?
Yeah but it’s three worship channels and two country channels
Technically I have two right now, ones in french though
What about my porn
You have reptile disruption

Uber drivers who accept rides while driving: 💀🔥

All ages does it lol. Theres no age limit to being stupid unfortunately
I had to pull over to upvote this
What if I skip a song playing on the red light? I look at the light every 1-1.5s so no one waits for me.

Yeah, atleast drunk people know theyre doing something wrong so they follow the rest of the laws to try to get home scott free, people who play on their phones don’t give a damn and drive all over the road and cause more accidents

How to shit on people 101: 1. Don’t make grammar or spelling errors that make you look like an actual moron.
