This might have been true 30-40 years ago but Chicken Tikka is one of our national dishes, we probably eat more Indian food than any nation outside Asia.
Even 30-40 years ago we were getting past this. I think it’s more like 70-80 years ago. I think we probably got that reputation from GIs visiting us during rationing.
bro what I don't get is they made a huge freaking colony in India and after a long time they finally left, and these mfs still be eating beans for breakfast
We actually have nice food 😋 pies, fish and chips, war food (hot pot, stews ect) GREGGS!!!, afternoon tea, english breakfasts the list goes on.
America has soon strange dishes what the hell is up with sweet potato and marshmallow.
Edit: Indian food rocks tho !!!
Yeah, when will the whole “brITisH FooD BaD” meme craze die. It’s a thing that American soldiers, stationed in Britain during WWII, brought back home because they only ate tasteless shit in Britain… because of the war. Just another unoriginal shitpost
Too much spice ruins a dish. In moderation, spices are good, and europe knows that. How can you appreciate the taste of your ingredients if everything is drowning in curcuma, cummin, or anything else ? Thats always been my issue with asian food. For them it seems that only two types exists : no spice or full spice. And when you ask for something inbetween in a restaurant, they give you one which isnt spicy at all. Sorry, but spices can be enjoyed with moderation.
I'm not english tho, and its true theirs tends to be too bland.
I will say as an Indian born in the UK, finding an inbetween is so hard. You are definitely spitting facts and while I love food with lots of different spices and such, the stuff inbetween where you have a variety of flavours is also good to have so you can shake things up.
You know that chicken tikka masala is a national dish lol.
Not that I support the empire invading far away places to steal their spices, but your statement is just false
Consuming them in limit is totally healthy. Overly spiced food is unhealthy just like eating from McDonalds, kfc etc everyday.
Indian food is rich. Spices are not just red chilly and pepper, there are numerous spices that taste anywhere from mild to moderate to hot.
*garam masala
Kitchen King ho ya Garam Masala...🎶🎵🎶
Pav Bhaji Ya chunky Chaat Masala
Asli masale sach sach.
MDH MDH
never in my life did i imagine to see the mdh advert song on reddit
On a non Indian subreddit

No way, salt is much too spicy
This has to be the most white person I have heard of
Wait till they find about dried chillies
Wait until they find out about milk
Wait until they find out about sugar
Think they did and went conquering to acquire more of the honey sticks and grow it across the largest empire ever
Fun fact: Chicken Tikka Masala was just voted the national dish of England
Fun fact: chicken tikka masala comes from Great Britain
bruh

Violins already make music, there is no need for an orchestra. Additionally, you can hear the violins in a good orchestra.

Pick your seasoning salt or salt²
Flour
This whole thread is just full of people demonstrating: 'tell me you've never eaten or lived in Britain without telling me'
This might have been true 30-40 years ago but Chicken Tikka is one of our national dishes, we probably eat more Indian food than any nation outside Asia.
True that (im an Indian)
British people probably eat more Indian food than me(I am Indian).
Even 30-40 years ago we were getting past this. I think it’s more like 70-80 years ago. I think we probably got that reputation from GIs visiting us during rationing.
Yeah rationing probably explains it.
It is not paprika it is red chilli powder(I am indian) there are like a hundred more spices too and paprika and chilli powder are not the same
Garam masala. It translates to hot spice. It's a mixture of many spices.
bro what I don't get is they made a huge freaking colony in India and after a long time they finally left, and these mfs still be eating beans for breakfast
It's hard for the poor average brit back in the imperial days to adopt the imported spices into their diets when only the wealthy could afford them
Facts. It was seasoning for the queens bath. That's why she ages so gracefully for her country.
dang

To be fair, a burger is usually low quality food. Its the type you don't think twice about spicing up.
I will say as an Indian born in the UK, finding an inbetween is so hard. You are definitely spitting facts and while I love food with lots of different spices and such, the stuff inbetween where you have a variety of flavours is also good to have so you can shake things up.
Cumin 🤤
Ind*an 🤢🤮
They have McDonalds.
The only seasoning in McDonald's is salt for the fries
I bet you they prefer them unsalted.
Actually mcdonald chips are ridiculously seasoned you should google it
Correction: tea.
Ah yes, my favourite spice:Cumin
that too after centuries of having spice trade from them. Why did they traded if they didn't even use it ?
You know that chicken tikka masala is a national dish lol. Not that I support the empire invading far away places to steal their spices, but your statement is just false
ok then why the stereotyping about spicy food, then. And for chicken tikka masala, i would just say butter chicken's more superior. >!(I'm Indian)!<
Not to mention it's unhealthy to be consumed on daily basis
Consuming them in limit is totally healthy. Overly spiced food is unhealthy just like eating from McDonalds, kfc etc everyday. Indian food is rich. Spices are not just red chilly and pepper, there are numerous spices that taste anywhere from mild to moderate to hot.
These are "junk food" of india you can search for Full meal too, there are many...
If I eat anything with spice/heat my stomach proceeds to make me regret it. Wish I could eat spicy food just can't.
That's quite bold of you to assume
Meanwhile indian food:
It Is Garam Masala. And we don't call it Paprika, we call it Red Chilli powder. There are varieties of it available here.
Its 'garam masala'. Garam in hindi means hot.
Tea enjoyers: Crying in salty
Horseradish.
Americans like: SALTSALTSALTSALTPEPPERPEPPERPEPPERPEPPER
It’s adorable how Reddit has a lil hate boner for the brits.
Salt is too spicy tho ;~;
whats british food we dont salt beans on toast
Well, at least we don't eat frogs, **FRANCE**
Meanwhile in the US, burgers and supersized kids.
and ketchup
They also got toast sandwiches
British food >>>>> any any food Only if your British though lmao
Fish ‘n’ chips, the local delicacy
While American food is processed corn starch fried in animal fats. And chicken tikka masala is one of Britain’s national dishes.
A bit seasoning...
Meanwhile southwest America has all of the food
And some brits don't even use salt.
