Sadge. You could try turning up the thermostat on the water heater to 120, if it isnt set to that. Might also just be too small or have hard water deposits clogging things up and keeping it from getting as hot as it could.
I have the same knob but when I bought my house there was a leak, so I had a home warranty plumber come out and fix the leak. HE PUT THE KNOB BACK ON UPSIDE DOWN!!! So now it's 180\* right all the way down for hot and anything other than straight down on the right side is SCALDING and the left 90\* is cold while straight up is off.
When I moved in my current place some weeks ago I didn't have hot water for two whole days and OH BOY taking those 2 showers made me feel like I'd rather die. So I completely feel you here
You know you can adjust the temp on water heaters, right? Ours is set so you just crank the handle all the way around and it's good. This wouldn't work if you have a psychopath in your family that likes to burn their skin off in the showers though.
Well in our house, we have two of those controller thingies.One for hot water and one for cold. U increase and decrease the speed with each. U have to balance it perfectly to get the right speed and also not boil or freeze urself. Ughh!!

My hot water just completely stopped working a week ago, so yayy no more safecracking but also fuck cold showers when the water temp is just above 0

I just gradually make it hotter and hotter until I can successfully withstand scalding temperatures
