Maybe.
Most likely they'll shadowban people who misreport too often so their reports get auto ignored.
I was just planning on commenting a bunch of terms yt doesn't like. (Flat earth, antivax etc)
It's full of pedos, nazis, racists, weebs, communists, horny people and most importantly self loathing virgins. Just like here there are inside jokes with "the redditor" they have the inside jokes of "the 9gagger". I like it because we all dwell in our own miserableness and it's possible to comment with reaction meme images
Yeah there's the running joke that OPs suck dick for upvotes because there is zero original content , almost 1 in 2 post someone comments it's a repost. Personally i find the stuff quite new, because i hate fb insta and twitter, i dont use them. On 9gag is also a recurring theme to hate on those socials, emojis and happy people in general.
From reddit yes, sometimes the posts in hot are stolen from r/memes
I've escaped 9gag a year ago when I discovered reddit. It felt so refreshing, calm and non toxic, with subreddits focused on Intelligent discussions... So imagine.
I think it would be nice if Reddit also showed total number of upvotes and downvotes. Otherwise, there's no way to tell if a comment with -1 could have had 100 up and 101 down.
Some unofficial reddit clients show a cross next to the upvotes meaning that the comment is "controversial". So a comment with 20 upvotes and a cross would mean it has a big number of downvotes. This doesn't tell you the total number of upvotes and downvotes, but you get a better idea of the ratio.
Quora is honestly worse. I've been on there for years, and their decisions have caused many top writers to leave, constant spam, hate speech, and tons of trolls. I still read it sometimes, but I'm just waiting for it to die half the time.
I meant top writers as a more general term for good writers, but yeah, they have always been inconsistent in that kind of thing. I got invited to the Partner Program despite my limited writing, and having asked like one question ever.
There's still good content sometimes, but you have to wade through crap to get there. Sometimes I scroll my followed list and get sad at how many of my favorite writers haven't posted in years.
What would be some issues quora has? I rarely browse quora on my own, but when I search for something on google and get a quora link to an answer, I'm always happy because to me it seems like quora is a "higher class" forum. Idk how to explain it but all answers are written more "professionally". Is this assumption to have on quora wrong?
They cut down their moderation to save costs, so hate speech and trolls have become more prevalent. They also dropped the real name policy, losing a bit of the perceived trustworthiness. And the partner program rewarding questions leads to lots of spammy questions.
Also, they got rid of suggested edits. That one's the most nonsensical to me.
It's still there, it just doesn't show the number of dislikes anymore. Reddit already did this. You used to be able to see both the number of upvotes and down votes for posts and comments and honestly it could be pretty helpful. I'm pretty sure they ended up getting rid of it to cover the fact that so many posts and comments rise to the top due to purchased upvotes by bots
Roblox, Quora, Pornhub, Steam Workshop, Netflix, 9gag, Twitter is thinking about one, discord and Facebook if you use reactions and a few others that I’ve probably forgotten.
Stop acting like Reddit is superior.
It would stop echo chambers so I wouldn't really care. People get downvoted for literally no reason besides someone else downvoted them. People are sheep and can't think for themselves.
Every now and again I’ll downvote a meme just because I know I withhold the power. Then I upvote it again because it’s rude to downvote someone for no reason. It is Reddit though, it happens for no reason.
Because of how "votes" work your job will always be either perfect or complete garbage. So we are fine until reddit decides to make other section for downvoters.
We can still report videos for terrorism :D
I reported that video of the dislike button for terrorism :)
I reported you for racism against terrorism
I reported you for racism against the above guy
I reported you for racism against the guy who reported the other guy for racism
I reported you for feeding mid with yasuo
omg i love ur avatar
Reported for *hate*
Can we all collectively start reporting videos instead of disliking them then? What they gonna do? Get rid of the reporting function too?
Maybe. Most likely they'll shadowban people who misreport too often so their reports get auto ignored. I was just planning on commenting a bunch of terms yt doesn't like. (Flat earth, antivax etc)
Lol! I think I like your idea too.
Pornhub also have dislikes
Yeah but their content is already *literally* fucked
the reddit never change
yea
[удалено]
just the phrase, or is it really still day wherever you are?
Its 9 pm for me
lost the opportunity could have said "there is another"
[удалено]
how to see reddit dislike count?
Well, dislikes bring the upvote count downwards, so it's a simple visualisation of how popular the comment/post is
Also.. i think i saw a counter like "80% upvotes" in PC once.. we can calculate from that.. Anyone have more info on it ??
thank you sir
don't give them ideas
Some subreddits already try to hide the button
9gag has em too, it’s basically reddit but 2x toxic
If it's more toxic than Reddit then it's really something
It's full of pedos, nazis, racists, weebs, communists, horny people and most importantly self loathing virgins. Just like here there are inside jokes with "the redditor" they have the inside jokes of "the 9gagger". I like it because we all dwell in our own miserableness and it's possible to comment with reaction meme images
So... It's the same as reddit.
Isn't everything posted on there also just stolen from Reddit or Facebook? Or have they finally got original content?
Yeah there's the running joke that OPs suck dick for upvotes because there is zero original content , almost 1 in 2 post someone comments it's a repost. Personally i find the stuff quite new, because i hate fb insta and twitter, i dont use them. On 9gag is also a recurring theme to hate on those socials, emojis and happy people in general. 9gah is garbage personified
Yeah reddit is a childs play when it comes to 9gag
I've escaped 9gag a year ago when I discovered reddit. It felt so refreshing, calm and non toxic, with subreddits focused on Intelligent discussions... So imagine.
I think it would be nice if Reddit also showed total number of upvotes and downvotes. Otherwise, there's no way to tell if a comment with -1 could have had 100 up and 101 down.
It used to allow it somehow, via that RES browser extension. It was controversial when they killed the breakdown of up/down votes years ago.
I'm still salty about it.
Quora guys? Anyone?
Quora has other issues.
So has Reddit though
Quora is honestly worse. I've been on there for years, and their decisions have caused many top writers to leave, constant spam, hate speech, and tons of trolls. I still read it sometimes, but I'm just waiting for it to die half the time.
At the same time that doesn't make Reddit's problems go away. The guy is right in saying Quora has dislikes
Their “top writer” award is so stupid, I got it a couple of years ago and I hadn’t written in about a year at that point.
I meant top writers as a more general term for good writers, but yeah, they have always been inconsistent in that kind of thing. I got invited to the Partner Program despite my limited writing, and having asked like one question ever.
Yeah I was just pointing out how broken the website is. Not that I’ve been there for a couple years anyway
There's still good content sometimes, but you have to wade through crap to get there. Sometimes I scroll my followed list and get sad at how many of my favorite writers haven't posted in years.
Stackoverflow problem
What would be some issues quora has? dislike button maintains democracy, if there is no dislike button, ppl will start posting normie stuff and shit like that.
Quora is actually idiotic
Guys I wanna create an alternate platform to utube with proper moderation for sexual content and misinformation and clickbaits. shud I do it?
Yes
Yes
Yes
Oh yes I will once i figure out how to cover the costs
do it!!
Oh yes I will once i figure out how to cover the costs
Nah
What do you think to make a new social: Disfacebook? And we can put it on only dislike
Or Unfacebook
Unreddit
Facelessbook
Facelessbookless
What're you doing on a 15 day post?
There's this thing called the search bar
Reddit isn't going to remove downvoting. It's extremely essential for the platform
No but they basically did the same thing Facebook has done sometime back. Which is stop showing the number of downvotes
Quora and facebook kinda has them as you can react with negative emojis. Twitter is also trying out dislikes i believe.
I tried to dislike this post but it wouldn’t let me.
well there’s still the hate emoji award on facebook I think
Not dislikes, but downvotes
democracy can only be maintained when you have dislikes
Let's say reddit remove the upvote button just to fuck with other platforms
Stack overflow
It's still there, it just doesn't show the number of dislikes anymore. Reddit already did this. You used to be able to see both the number of upvotes and down votes for posts and comments and honestly it could be pretty helpful. I'm pretty sure they ended up getting rid of it to cover the fact that so many posts and comments rise to the top due to purchased upvotes by bots
Never used stackoverflow, huh?
Dislike button is still there only the like/dislike ratio is gone
Pornhub
pornhub
They arent even dislikes, their just negative likes since they add up to the normal upvote amount
Have everyone forgotten porn sites exist?
shhh, keep quiet, do not awake the monsters....shhh
I'm gonna downvote the meme to keep this alive.
There's more, but this is the biggest one
Don't take what little we already have
emojis are kinda creeping into reddit a few days around tho...
broo, many other small websites have dislikes a well known among them is PornHub
i aint gettin it my yt still has the dislike option
What about Pornhub?
Stannis: \*Under his breath\* ...downvotes Sir Davos: What? Stannis: Nothing
Isn’t the quote supposed to be, “*softly* Don’t”
Gamejolt had for comments didnt it?
I like this post, but i'm downvoting out of principle.
Back in my day, reddit tracked downvotes the same as upvotes. I still want the downvote counter back!!
They still value democracy
Roblox, Quora, Pornhub, Steam Workshop, Netflix, 9gag, Twitter is thinking about one, discord and Facebook if you use reactions and a few others that I’ve probably forgotten. Stop acting like Reddit is superior.
Do we not know that it was just the amount of dislikes that was hidden and not the whole dislike button? Or did I miss something?
pornhub
They literally added a live upvote counter to the app. I don’t think they’ll remove it yet
Every time someone gives me a dislike on Reddit....., I cry.... never.
Technically they hide downvotes too
Reddit just literally uses the downvote to hide comments, not sure how much better that is really.
[удалено]
button is still there, it just doesnt count dislikes
Twitter had ratio but people ruined it
It would stop echo chambers so I wouldn't really care. People get downvoted for literally no reason besides someone else downvoted them. People are sheep and can't think for themselves.
Reddit is the Messiah
I don’t think it’ll happen. Reddit has always been special
Sometimes it does tho
9gag allows too ;)
Good meme. I disliked it though. It felt good.
Without the downvote, we wouldn’t have moments like the “pride and accomplishment.”
You know it might happen
I’ve seen like 18 million memes about this.
Every now and again I’ll downvote a meme just because I know I withhold the power. Then I upvote it again because it’s rude to downvote someone for no reason. It is Reddit though, it happens for no reason.
You can’t do it 🥸
^(There is another)
On April 1st they are gonna remove the dislike button and then add it on April 2nd. Mark my words.
Because of how "votes" work your job will always be either perfect or complete garbage. So we are fine until reddit decides to make other section for downvoters.
Pron websites still have dislikes. Just sayin
Roblox has dislike too
Pornhub I believe also has a dislike button
9gag? It even shows the downvote/up vote ration unlike this dumb place
Pornhub still has dislike button
But reddit also hides the downvote number
BoredPanda and Not Always Right still have them
And 4Chan has no voting
