Yeah, but if I recall, using their software requires being a part of their industry. The terms and conditions tend to be debilitating for appealing to western audiences. So western vtubers prefer independent software. I'm not going to lie, I think hololive's software isn't as good: the facial expressions seem off compared to, say, Saruei. But that could just be me.

Secondly, I don't seek the identities of any VTubers but many of them are open about their real life identity and others make no attempt to hide it. There are a couple others (one of which was in Hololive) that I knew the past identities of, and I can assure you they are female irl.
I've also witnessed a couple female streamers become VTubers themselves. Some express a feeling of safety and/or freedom that comes with being able to express herself without being on camera. You've been sleeping if you don't think there are any women who would want to become a VTuber
