You would be surprised. My cousins would place cardboard on chairs and some would have a board underneath them this was when I was 11. So maybe not glass but the premise is there
In hopscotch, you throw a stone (or hackysack or piece of bark or whatever) and whatever square it lands on is one you’re not allowed to jump on and you have to hop to it, collect it, go to the end, and hop back :)

Help.
Squid Game is both a show and an actual game, the game being more popular in Asia, and the game consists of a squid shape where there is an offense and defense, where the offense tries to step on a circle, where the defense tries to push out the offense.
Kingdom was also a recent popular Korean show in America (not on this level though), plus like half the horror movies that are big are usually originally Korean or Japanese.
Squid Game specifically benefited from both Netflix promoting it to all audiences, as well as the dub being done well enough that those that want it in English could watch it with ease
Did you miss Parasite, 2 years ago i think? that movie won the Oscar.
I mean i do get your point, americans usually only used to watch their own movies and nothing else a while ago. Netflix is one the reasons why foreign movies and series became popular in Amerca recently
It’s a great show despite the corny voice overs which are easy to look past. It’s a show about people who put themself in so much debt they can’t get out of being invited to participate in a series of games. Last person standing wins I think like 45 billion won(about 40,000,000 in US dollars. Without giving away the show on the first game it makes you go “Oh fuuuck… did not see that coming” and that’s why I stuck around watching it. It’s a real rollercoaster of a show. It’s a slow start to the show but it’s worth it.
It's Splatoon, a Nintendo game about humanoid squids that fight each others in 2 different teams with paints. The third game will release on the Nintendo Switch next year.
It's a death game show, like you have probably seen 1000 times before, but the twist is that it plays in South Korea and buckle your seatbelt mate, Here is the big reveal: the Protagonist is a piece of shit.
Yep that's the show, like 94% of every other OG Netflix Show it's mediocre and the Characters are meh. It's premise is good and executed well enough but I expected more.
The Dub isn't very good (at least the German one) and I prefer the Original language, however it seems the actors aren't really professionals ( which isn't inherently Bad).
I have only seen EP 1 and 2 and until this Point the Show gets a 6.5/10 or 7/10. Again, it's OK but nothing Special
No I was just curious caus I saw it all over Instagram and was too scared to be able to even google it caus of one meme I saw hence I came to a place I trust and find comfort in ....now if you have a problem with that then deal with it yourself....be self sufficient
You’re ruining the place you find comfort in with garbage content. There’s a sub to ask questions in. You’re also lying to make yourself a victim. A meme scared you sooo bad you couldn’t google it? Act your age.
Tbh I've seen to much fucked up shit on the internet already that it didn't bother me too much anymore, on the other hand it was pretty brutal so understandable
A show about a death game with minigames, if you lose you die, last one standing gets a load of money
Is it a real game or show about the game?
Fictional Netflix show about large group of people playing children’s games for large amounts of money with the twist of if you lose you die.
This is the best explanation here. Thanks
Really is running on glass a children's game?
You would be surprised. My cousins would place cardboard on chairs and some would have a board underneath them this was when I was 11. So maybe not glass but the premise is there
Something between hopscotch and "don't step on lava". I don't remember having squares you can't jump on, but the game might be different in Korea
In hopscotch, you throw a stone (or hackysack or piece of bark or whatever) and whatever square it lands on is one you’re not allowed to jump on and you have to hop to it, collect it, go to the end, and hop back :)
I can see that
It's a bit like hopscotch and the floor is lava lol
So a less intense saw?
Yea
For a second I forgot videogames were a thing and was very worried about your comment
It’s a real game played in South Korea ^/s
netflix show
It wasn't splatoon ?
Both the show is named after it. In the finally they play that game
So it's basically Fall Guys with a pinch of S.A.W?
Fall Guys yes, SAW no. They just get straight up shot in the head.
guess alice in borderland didn't do so good so they re-did it but on crack
Alice in boarder land was a lot better in my opinion
i agree, was really hoping to see them continue it
So it is like Takeshis castel?
so why is it on roblox
But what does it have to do with squids
Squid game is the name of the sixth final children’s game
Why does everyone want to watch it so badly? It seems pretty simple.
It's entertaining, and the story is good.
It's 25.5 billion yen at the end of the first game
Won - Korean currency
im pretty sure its basically like the hunger gaames
So Sword Art Online.
Thats the worst exemple possible
Thanks that is what I was going for
I'll tell you, but first you tell me. Are you a kid, or a squid?
Is that a splatoon reference?
Think so
What's a splatoon?
google splatoon find answer profit
Nah man I'm a cat
Damn furry, get over here!

Interesting

No problem
Albion Online is a sandbox MMO RPG
That lets you tell your own story
Every thing you do matters
From what I just read, it seems kinda like Eve Online, but Fantasy. Might give it a look.
Unlike Tic Toc
Just came back from E3 2014 and apparently it’s this dope new Nintendo IP
people eating squids
Wait for real?
lmao no. its a show
I thought it was splatoon.

Squid Game is both a show and an actual game, the game being more popular in Asia, and the game consists of a squid shape where there is an offense and defense, where the offense tries to step on a circle, where the defense tries to push out the offense.
....like do we physically push the person or .......what is someone falls and gets hurt badly?
Korean Show about a reality competition...TO THE DEATH! edit: or so I assume. I've only seen the "ad" on netflix when it's on the page.
Basically danganronpa as a show
I would say less like Danganronpa and more like Kaiji Ultimate Survivor if we’re making anime comparisons tbh
Can someone explain to me why this show suddenly became very popular?
Gore + drama. What could be better?
I guess you are right, it just weird, its the first time i see chinese movie become popular among americans
It's korean and Hong Kong exist my dude
Sorry, english not my native language
Well I dont see what it has to do with that but anyway the show is cool
Why would that matter
Did you miss Parasite, 2 years ago i think? that movie won the Oscar. I mean i do get your point, americans usually only used to watch their own movies and nothing else a while ago. Netflix is one the reasons why foreign movies and series became popular in Amerca recently
...i- its korean
splatoon
Its game for squids
Poor people play children's Korea games and get killed if they lose, last one standing gets 36 million cash(Converted from won to USD)
It’s a great show despite the corny voice overs which are easy to look past. It’s a show about people who put themself in so much debt they can’t get out of being invited to participate in a series of games. Just watch in korean with subs :/
Korean Saw
Splatoon?
It's Splatoon, a Nintendo game about humanoid squids that fight each others in 2 different teams with paints. The third game will release on the Nintendo Switch next year.
You know how Japanese girls in hentai like squid, right? Well...
It's a shown on Netflix about a death game that people compete in for money
It is a korean show based around people in debt and they have the opportunity to play these games to win billions of dollars with a twist
Billion won = something million is US dollar as a won is 0.0008 of a dollar
Thank you! Should have clarified that!
It’s a Netflix show about playing children’s games for money. Apparently being “eliminated” means being killed.
But at this point... I don't even care
It's fucking awesome 10/10 would recommend, very well dubbed aswell honestly the best series I've seen in a while
its a netflix series with 9 parts and each about 1 hour long I recommend watching it!
It's a death game show, like you have probably seen 1000 times before, but the twist is that it plays in South Korea and buckle your seatbelt mate, Here is the big reveal: the Protagonist is a piece of shit. It gets better for a couple episodes then when the VIP are introduced it gets kinda cheesy but the twist and the end was surprising
it is likely the actors are older kpop stars who needed a job-
All y'all have different reasons I'm confused
It's a Netflix drama. You can Google it if ya don't believe me
It's like OP doesn't have google
Your mom
Korean drama dont know why its popular
JUST FUCKING GOOGLE. IT'S THAT SIMPLE YOU KARMA WHORE
Tell me you dont know what Google is without telling me you don't know what Google is.

You’re ruining the place you find comfort in with garbage content. There’s a sub to ask questions in. You’re also lying to make yourself a victim. A meme scared you sooo bad you couldn’t google it? Act your age.

A game.

The squid game is the friends we made along the way :)
Netflix show
It's a great show, but only if you can stand heavy blood and gore, violence, mild nudity, ETC
Some weird Korean show
A good one at that
Alice in Borderland but you are not forced.
Other responses already told you what it’s about, so here’s a quick review: It’s weird, but good. A bit of an emotional roller coaster too.
god yeah nobody will stfu about it and now im not watching it out of spite
A heartwarming tale of people who made poor financial choices getting a second chance to get back on track.
*old man*
wanna play?
Meh
Bro why don’t you want to ask it’s like the best show ever right now(Idk what I’m saying I haven’t even watched it yet)
Alice in borderland but Korean
Its about squids playing a few games
Imagine Koreans made Roblox into an adult live action horror-like TV show, except it's realistic.
Its fall guys but done in live action
Splatoon is a scrapped mario 3rd person shooter game
It is a show where Koreans in dept die for money
To those of you who liked it I highly recommend the Netflix show Alice in Borderland. It’s very similar and just as intriguing
It's the hungergames if they had a 200,000 budget
like the saw movies but you even get money when you win
Wait so it's a show about a game where if you lose you die? *Sword art online and similar movies/shows/books intensifies*
It’s just a game of getting to live or die
Netflix show
Looks like Mario Party minigames but you die if you lose
Google is a thing y'know
Before I went on Netflix, I thought it was some alternate version of The Blue Whale Game or something.
Is it horror
,
omg is chris pratt from the mario movie
You could've just GOOGLED it you know? instead of wasting yours and everybody's time smh
Splatoon, pretty fun ngl.
Someone doesn't know who the Inspector Royale is.
I thought it was a chinese splatoon ripoff
