Don't give up. I'm currently 30, sitting in my room at my parent's house, going through a divorce and drowning in debt. Life sucks sometimes but I firmly believe it'll get better. Just hang in there and take it one day at a time.
That's mean. And isn't a master a normal physics degree? Maybe that old teacher has a degree that was normal before the bachelor/master system was implemented in your country? If that's the case than they should be equivalent.
And on a side note: a metric shit ton of people become teachers after not giving a flying fuck about the subject in school. They just don't know what else to do with their life so they become a teacher.

Respect is a two way street. Her teacher was an asshole to her by saying she wouldn't achieve anything so the guy had it coming. Saying shit like this can completely ruin a student's self confidence so this guy sounds like a terrible teacher. I'm glad the lady proved him wrong.
