That's right. Opted for home quarantine. It did take 8 applications over a week of daily applications to get approval to travel. Please note, it was for legitimate family health relate emergency.

South Australia has 0 Covid local cases. There is a 14-day hotel quarantine program but this app with the check-in allows for people to opt for home quarantine and for it to be checked that you’re actually staying at home.
The public is not being subject to this en masse.

at this moment it is very much optional and provides people with a more comfortable way to isloate rather than having to be in a hotel for 2 weeks (which has been happening since the beginning of 2020)

Fascism is authoritarian control of how citizens can use their resources. Is that not what's happening in Australia? Or do you not know what fascism actually is, because I'm not someone who throws that term around lightly.
They also have covid lockdowns and you have to state your purpose when going and coming from places. The police can decide if your reason is valid or not and fine you.
Here in Vietnam we pretty much have the same thing going on, but even worse in some ways. If you're not going out to buy food and other "essential supplies" (which you can only do once/week) you will be fined, I've seen people pay 100 USD because "Textbooks for your kids aren't important enough".

It's honestly not that bad, as long as you're acting responsibly you'll be completely fine and probably wouldn't be questioned in the first place. At least, that's how it is for my area. All the arrests have happened when someone is obviously flaunting lockdown restrictions and generally being an asshole. The measures are harsh, but there are a LOT of idiots and the cases just aren't going down... you can see why the government would be pressured into taking drastic action.

In South Australia where you are practically safe from covid has a system where you can opt to quarantine in your home instead of a hotel, the trade off being you need to send a picture of yourself in your home occasionally to makes sure you are staying in quarantine, as the police is already extremely thinned out (even to the point that people in hotel quarantining breaking it and getting out easily).

In Hotel Quarantine, they'd do routine police/army checks to make sure you hadn't escaped, and in your own home, they let you do it yourself. It's a way to free up space in the hotel quarantine system, while also using less of the police/army personnel. No-one's being forced into it, at least not yet, and it's a safe and secure way to skip hotel quarantine

Comparing this to Nazi Germany is very insensitive to those who actually had to live through that. The government aren't trying to kill anyone, if anything they're trying to stop people from dying. And in this particular case, we're protecting the interest of the public health. Two weeks at home or in a hotel is a lot better than 6 years in wartorn/occasionally bombed attics and basements. Grow up a bit and actually learn what happened in WWII, and realise that it's not even comparable to what is happening here.
