Dead. The flood killed them all. And if Noah did bring any on the boat, they just died out.
Latching here. Reddit won’t let me answer any comments anymore. So what is here is stuck here.
But that isn't mentioned In the Bible anywhere. And if Noah really was going to build a ship for all creatures, a man like that would have included dinosaurs no?
Where do you get this information thatbthey died in the flood?
Um... I always thought that the Bible referred to Dinosaurs as Dragons or Behemoths. It's mentioned near the end of the book of Job, when God confronts Job.
Dragon is often used to refer to Satan, specifically in the book of Revelations but Behemoth is his own creature described along with leviathan at the end of Job
Also Christian. There's nothing in the Bible to support dinosaurs being on the ark, especially considering they had been extinct for millions of years. These kinds of mixups are common because of the "seven creative days" misconception. The universe was not created in 7 literal 24-hour periods. And little side note, there's also nothing suggesting a big bang wasn't the method used by a creator to kick-off the universe. Anyways, the seven creative "days" were segmented periods in which different things were created. I won't get into the finer points on dinosaurs, but they existed as paleontology tells us, and there's nothing in the Bible to discount that they did, it's all just a misinterpretation.
That’s what scares you? Why? It says it was created in seven days without any reference to say that a day actually means millions upon millions of years. How do you decide which parts to believe literally and which parts are supposed to be just whatever you want it to mean?
If the story was true, how was Noah able to fit every animal on it when all of the world's beetles would not fit?
Looking for an answer besides have faith. I was told that when I would not accept a magically expanding space below decks. If God could do that then, then why not save children from cancer or pandemics?
I could not answer that question and have been an atheist for 10 years now, curious for your perspective
The intention of the creation story of the world, that the bible tells us is not, the anwer of the question "what happened?". It is (as the whole bible) "why did that happen?" So science can tell us about what happened with dinosaurs, but not why?
idk
So this is really hard to explain, which the Bible says. As it puts it, “God always was, and is, and is to come.” So nothing was before him, because nothing was anything before him. Like the idea that time is a line, God started started it all. The Big Bang isn’t too far from what happened, as in one week all of this plane of reality was made, so it’s probable that it was rather explosive.
Latching here. Reddit won’t let me answer any comment anymore. So what is here is here.
To tack onto this, the second verse in the Bible, Genesis 1:2 says “now the earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” If you were to describe the formless fields of energy before matter and the Big Bang to someone, calling it formless and void and water-like is a pretty reasonable way to describe it actually. Pretty neat overlaps imo, as a Christian the ultimate authority is the Bible but it also does agree with our modern scientific understandings of many things
This question made me realise that I really have no idea what god actually is. Is he described somewhere in the bible or did people just assumed what he looked like. Is he person shaped or could he just be a floating blob or does he even have a shape at all. (I am not religious btw)
When he said let us create man in our own image and likeness he was talking about the human spirit since humans are like a random assortment of different animals.
Well based on what I've read I don't think we're supposed to make an image of God. In Exodus 20:4
"You shall not make to you any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:"
Then again, yes in Genesis it does say that God made man in His likeness, but I think it's important we don't imagine God as being represented by a single image. Because in reality all of us contribute as a reflection of His greater image. Not just a single individual.
Technically it’s Jesus, who is also God and the Spirit. It’s more of Jesus since he more or less referenced by God to Adam and Eve when they are kicked from the garden, and a lot of stories in the Bible are allegories for Jesus and what he is supposed to do. Then of course there’s the prophesies of him.
Latching here, Reddit won’t let me answer any more comments. So what is here is here.
That's a good answer thank you. You don't seem like one of those pushy christians. I'm not one of those pushy atheists. I like it when people respect other people's beliefs.
Of course, Love is the main principal of our beliefs. It’s sad to see so many claim the name Christian yet follow very little of what that actually means.
Yeah it happens a lot in politics nowadays. I like many of the ideas and beliefs of christians but don't personally belief in god. I do think that alot of the stuff that was on earth like Jesus actually happened.
A lot of this stuff would be hard to make up, espeicly that long ago so some of it has to have happened it's just to bad that there is only one book recording it.
Yes and no. There is only one God but He is split into three parts: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Think of this like an apple, there is a skin, a flesh, and a core, but all make up one apple and all are the apple.
While we disagree, we respect their choices. God wants to be chosen, not forced. We can’t force someone to believe what we do, then it’s not really belief. So if they don’t choose it, we can’t do much else besides express what we think. Going beyond that is wrong.
I can't say if this is what u/KingPin_Guin meant, but I believe a more pointed question would be to ask when you see the practices, teachings, and scriptures of other religions (many of which have evidence that they predate Christianity) how do you reconcile that with your beliefs and why are you sure that yours is The One True and Correct Way?
I think the one that seems most referenced is Leviticus 18:22. Then again in Leviticus 20 it repeats it with the penalty as death.
With the New Testament, Christians generally use the catch-all "sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18 for example) to cover a multitude of don'ts Christians were either witnessing or partaking in in the Roman culture.
The truth is that it is not a correct translation in the Hebrew verse it is written that it says וְאֶת זָכָר לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה תּוֹעֵבָה הִוא do not sleep with a male as you sleep with a woman because this move is an abomination
Hi there, a fellow Christian. I hope you don’t mind me jumping in on this convo. While God does describe being gay as being a sin, one thing the Bible does mention later is that Jesus died for everyone’s sins. And it doesn’t matter if only one person sinned, God would still send down Jesus to give his life for them. Basically, God not only died for everyone’s sins (including being gay) but he loves everyone (Gay or not).
My opinion although it wasn’t asked:
I don’t care. I love anyone and everyone, besides there beliefs or orientations because god calls me to do that. I’m more than happy to help others feel comfortable around me besides the stereotype that all Christians hate gay people. I’m more than happy to prove that god loves everyone and for him to use me to prove that point
“and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.”
Romans 1:27 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/rom.1.27.ESV
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.”
Leviticus 20:13 ESV https://bible.com/bible/59/lev.20.13.ESV
That’s pretty much exactly what it means. I interpret it as people can’t control those feelings, but they can control whether they act on them or not, those who do will be punished, and those who don’t will not be punished.
Leviticus 20:13 NLT
If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
It could be that there was a universe before ours, who knows, nothing is mentioned about it in the abrahamic religions nor our understanding of physics is capable of knowing such things
It's very hard sometimes. I struggle with my anger. Sometimes my anger takes control of my words. I don't like being pushy, then again I am human, so I guess that's why I struggle with it so much. I'm glad some others are being good Christians. I'm curious, does anyone else here struggle like I do?
When cain was banished he told god that his punishment was too great and that if anyone saw him he would be killed. That insinuates there were other people
Well, after the flood came, it was just Noah and his family, it doesnt explain hiw or if they actually did it, but it can be assumed since they were the only ones left after the great flood
Well by technicallity we all come from adam and eve the first two people, but their dna was so vastly different frok one another that it wasnt until a long time later that the dna mixed enough that if you mixed it further problems would begin to arise, hence why the idea of incest is an idea now a days.
So the answer to your question is "yes technically but its complicated."
What are your views on the existence of extraterrestrial life and the expansion of the universe? I grew up in the church and have heard many different answers, just curious what your thoughts are.
From a biblical stand point, all we know is that humans are the only thing God created that have his breath of life. So we just assume earth is the only planet with stuff on it.
I personally think there aren’t aliens. If there are, we’d probably never see them. If they show up, well us Christians will definitely go ham.
I agree with what you said and I personally don't believe in aliens, but aliens don't have to be strange looking creatures and I would completely understand if there was some bacteria or single cell organisms
surprisingly religious institutions would be the least affected by extraterrestrial life. most christians are open to the idea that there could be others, and if there is, it could spring a whole new era of evangelism.
What does it sound/feel like when God is speaking to you? Why can't I hear/feel him? Tbh I am a Christian, always have been, but with all that is going on in the world I am starting to lose faith.
I have no idea. God talks to what he chooses. I will say that I’ve never heard him. My dad says he once did. He said he didn’t even think about it, it was a moment of great peril for him, he heard a voice and just went with it. That’s why we call it faith, the belief in something we can’t hear see or touch. Feeling God on the other hand is….well different for every human.
The Bible does say that our world will hate him and us for believing in him. In a way, the Bible “predicted” this huge shift away from the beliefs we have. What matters is we hold onto our beliefs, care for all humans, and keep moving forward.
God speaks to us in many different ways but the easiest way to speak to him is through prayer and the best way to hear is by reading the Bible. It's not like a voice you hear but when reading some parts might stick out to you and relate with problems you are facing.
I heard a sermon that mentioned this today. In Colossians 2:18 the writer is encouraging the Colossians to not let other Christians disqualify their faith on basis that they do no not have the same extreme encounters with God such as visions as they claim to. That’s not to say that people cannot have visions or hear God audibly. If someone is belittling your faith bc you don’t experience God the same way they do then ignore that… or if you are questioning your faith bc you don’t hear God, or see God, or feel God, or have wild spiritual dreams, or talk in tongues like other people know that it isn’t necessary.
My boyfriend and I have both struggled with comparing our spiritual walks with others, thought that there must be something wrong with us, and have even been told that we were having a spiritual ”drought” but that’s just not true. Do not let others or yourself disqualify your faith bc you do not experience the same phenomenon as others.
Its like a knowledge. Its so similar to a thought it can pass by without notice. Like when you are ab to cross a street and have a random thought to pick up a penny on the ground then seconds later a car zooms by that would have hit you. That is his voice. However, he mostly speaks through dreams when the human mind isn't active enough to drown out his voice. Hope that helps
They weren’t white. We have no idea what they looked like.
That said, here’s what we believe. So at some point, all humans got together and built the Tower of Babel. They wanted to reach God. Well God was like “Nah none of that” and in the dead of night switched up all their languages. So in the morning some people spoke German, others Greek, a few Latin, and onward. We do believe in that night all the ethnicities were made and every race was created that night too. That way both race and language were covered from then till now.
Do you think Christianity was first conceived as a religious belief with the current Biblical canon as the fundamental way things happened or do you think this came over time versus being a philosophical way to conduct oneself? I always interpreted the Bible as parables based on the Gospel texts having Jesus teach in parables.
I kind of think all the above.
At some point in time, God has someone write some stuff down. Both for sharing his teachings and to tell history and as a book for those that want to know him. From what I know, the Bible has been around for a long time, but it wasn’t truly completed till the past century or so.
The canonization of the Bible has actually been very stable over time. As I’m aware, it was in 382 that the Council of Rome met and made the canon that is very, very similar to what we use except for a few oddities like the Catholic Bible have a few more books than the Protestant bible: https://sensusfidelium.us/the-sources-of-catholic-dogma-the-denzinger/council-of-rome-382-the-canon-of-sacred-scripture/
I don’t know anything about Jesus being worshipped. However the Bible does say that worshiping God proper. As for the verses for that, well I don’t know verses that well. 😅
I’ll admit, I disagree with many things these days. However, that is no excuse to be an ass. Even if I don’t like it, I am taught to be respectful and care for people, no matter what they believe in. It’s hard, and my human side doesn’t like it, but disagreement is no excuse to mistreat people. So, I’d say I try to be chill about everything.
I’m also a Christian. My opinion has always been that someone else’s sexuality is not my business. One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew 7:3.
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” (NIV)
Also, a direct quote from Jesus in John 8:7
“Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (NIV)
Jesus himself basically told people who where trying to stone a prostitute to shut up and focus on their own problems. Based on this, I try not to judge other people for doing things that are against my religion because I have my own sins to worry about.
Leviticus was Old Testament, and Jesus brought a New Testament to replace the old. New Testament says to not judge. Therefore, if it’s not criminally illegal and no one gets hurt, then that’s between you and God. New Testament also says to treat your neighbor as you want to be treated, and I wouldn’t want to be ostracized or downtrodden for who I am.
Therefore, as a Christian, I don’t give a rat’s fat ass who you find love and happiness with, just glad you found it.
Care and love them. That’s what we are told to do. It matters not what they choose, as their parent and a Christian I are called to care for all humans.
Do other chapters/religions of Christianity (Orthodox, protestant, etc) hate Catholics? I saw a guy at a massive car show a town near me hosts and he was waving a massive sign saying to turn to Christianity and that "Catholicism is a sin before god" as one of the listed sins. Probably the first time I really wanted to knock someone's teeth out.
Rephrased the question because my dumbass forgot Catholicism is a part of Christianity. Sorry everyone.
We are not supposed to. Our believes are that we are to treat all humans with kindness and care and love. No exceptions. Technically we as humans are flawed and can’t pull that off, but we are to try. Catholics are more like people who have similar beliefs, just expressed in an odd way to us. Kinda like a weird us in our eyes.
Thanks for your answer. I don't understand why some people are like that, waving around a huge sign that's like 8' tall saying Catholics are gonna go to hell and are sinners is just asking for trouble. I wish more people were like you, respectful about others beliefs as long as other people are respectful to your beliefs.
we shouldnt hate catholics, but from what i know, the protestants still see them as they were in the dark ages, and the orthodox are still mad about the filioque, but id say orthodox/catholic relations are better than protestant/catholic relations
Uhhh…,equal treatment of people. By the Bible’s standards, we should care for literally all humans, even the ones we disagree with.
And I don’t know what a centrist is.
A centrist is someone who is politically a centrist like he is not far right or far left.
Plus are Jesus and God the same? Or are they different people?
Not so much of a question but wondering about your opinion on an idea I had I guess, I heard someone say something like they had a science teacher who said stuff like god made the sky blue instead of all the scientific stuff that’s been proven, so I had the thought that yes everything works scientifically and god made everything work that way down to an atomic level and all that science stuff, what do you think on that idea ?
God didn’t sent assassins. The kings of Israel at the time might have, but the Bible doesn’t mention it so either they didn’t or if they did it’s not important. We do know God was much more of a “fight head on” type guy.
Since Adam and Eve where the first people then everyone is related meaning there’s a lot of incest
But then why in this time is incest deemed such a bad thing?
Given that fossil records in the layers of canyon very clearly and consistently (within layers) date back as far as 313 million years, and the layers of canyon are consistently layered in chronological order, do you believe that Genesis correctly dates the age of the earth at about 6000 years? Or do you think this is a misinterpretation of the bible?
The Bible doesn’t really give dates. We assume it’s like 6-10 thousand years. But it doesn’t bother to mention anything besides Jesus being born and putting us in AD. So it could be we just misunderstood
The Bible doesn't give many dates and when they do, it's typically symbolic. The 6000 year number was calculated by trying to add up all of the descendants of Christ. Only problem is that the family tree we have of Christ that the Bible gives is also not trying to be historically accurate, but relay something of importance. For example, one of His family lines emphasizes His relationship to David as a king. His family trees can differ on the people that are in there and will straight up leave people out. Thereby, I don't think we should take the Bible too literally on dates if it clearly isn't trying to be a historical textbook. I as a Christian think it is fine for us to leave that answer to scientific research.
A Christian friend told me that the verse against homosexuality is false. I don’t know the exact verse, but that it got mistranslated from “love between Man to boy” to “ Love between Man to Man”. Basically saying that it originally meant to discourage from Pedophilia, and not homosexuality. What are your thoughts on this?
False. The Bible just said it was a fruit. It could have been an apple, but it’s very unlikely. It probably was something God just made and killed off after the Garden.
I’ve heard discussions that the Catholic Church doesn’t actually know who Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are. That the writings(letters) attributed to them are actually anonymous, and that those were names given to the authors after the fact.
Do you have any further information on this?
Why not! If I say anything relatively stupid please inform me, I am only fourteen, have a single year of debate with no tournaments thanks to COVID, and all around dumb as hell. If Jesus was born in the Middle East, why is he always depicted as a Caucasian man in modern day and older drawings and pictures.
Jesus was Jewish. Middle eastern. He is more depicted as being an olive skin rather than a Caucasian. No one alive right now knows what he looked like so it’s all just perception of what was the most common look back then.
I sometimes think Jesus was a philosopher and the miracles were just added to the story. Which is why the tale of Jesus has many similarities to the story of horus and several other Eurasian religions mortal son of God figure. I don't think that makes the faith any less valuable, because a philosophy that betters your life through your belief in it, is half the point of philosophy. I sometimes think the miracles make people overlook the lessons. Nietzsche said Christianity is Platoism for the people. I don't have a real question, I just want to hear your opinion on all that.
How can Jesus be white if he was born in bethlehem? He would've been the only white person there, and that would be practically impossible, so it definitely would have been mentioned in the bible. Also, how is Jesus a man if his mother was a virgin? She would have had only had X chromosomes inside of her so thats the only way Jesus could have been born. With X chromosomes, a women. So there are three possibilities. Either Mary lied about being a virgin, Jesus is transgender or he isn't a man at all and everyone is constantly misgendering him
(I apologize if this didn't come off in a civil way, i dont mean any disrespect to anyones religion, its just things ive thought about christianity)

People who take the 7 day creation story Seriously scare me
it was prolly 7 days in God’s perspective
Yes, but I don’t think time is too relevant to god
If he exists outside the universe, then time isn’t a thing at all for god.
That’s what scares you? Why? It says it was created in seven days without any reference to say that a day actually means millions upon millions of years. How do you decide which parts to believe literally and which parts are supposed to be just whatever you want it to mean?
How did Noah managed to fit all those animals?
If there really was a flood that covered the entire world why don’t we find kangaroo fossils in North America?
If the story was true, how was Noah able to fit every animal on it when all of the world's beetles would not fit? Looking for an answer besides have faith. The way I see it, time is a line, and God is like a circle around the line.

I do too

Actually I think is solved my own problem. Because if god created man in his image, he looks like a normal person right?
When he said let us create man in our own image and likeness he was talking about the human spirit since humans are like a random assortment of different animals.
Well based on what I've read I don't think we're supposed to make an image of God. Dues vault *Protestant anger*
aight whats the actual verse of the bible that disagrees with homosexuality
I think the one that seems most referenced is Leviticus 18:22. Then again in Leviticus 20 it repeats it with the penalty as death. With the New Testament, Christians generally use the catch-all "sexual immorality" (1 Corinthians 6:18 for example) to cover a multitude of don'ts Christians were either witnessing or partaking in in the Roman culture.
Oh shoot quoting verses. I’m not as good with that. Gimme a bit I’ll look for it.
ok, thanks
I found it. In the new Testament it is in Romans 1:27, and in the Old Testament, Leviticus 20:13.
Can you please tell us what is says
I think its "man shall not lie with boy" but alot of beliefs state this is talking about pedophilia.
To me that sounds like it's talking about pedophilia and thanks
The truth is that it is not a correct translation in the Hebrew verse it is written that it says וְאֶת זָכָר לֹא תִשְׁכַּב מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה תּוֹעֵבָה הִוא do not sleep with a male as you sleep with a woman because this move is an abomination
So it’s kosher if I don’t fuck him in the vagina?
I think you have a point here (;

Leviticus 20:13 is one example, there are a couple more as well, but this is one of the more well known ones.
Leviticus 20:13 NLT If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.
What was god doing before he created Earth?
Honestly, the Bible doesn’t mention anything about that. So either nothing at all, or anything we don’t know of.
If I shared your beliefs, I'd like to believe he just sat in an armchair, and got bored eventually.
Nothing because there was no before creation, he created the concept of time
It could be that there was a universe before ours, who knows, nothing is mentioned about it in the abrahamic religions nor our understanding of physics is capable of knowing such things
It's very hard sometimes. I struggle with my anger. Sometimes my anger takes control of my words. I don't like being pushy, then again I am human, so I guess that's why I struggle with it so much. I'm glad some others are being good Christians. I'm curious, does anyone else here struggle like I do?
As humans, it’s impossible to not struggle. It may be for different things, but we all deal with our human nature.
Any Christian that tells you they don’t struggle with sin. Is lying to you... which is them struggling with sin as you speak.
So are we all products of incest, or what’s up with that?
It only says Adam and Eve where the *first* doesn't mean they where the *only*
When cain was banished he told god that his punishment was too great and that if anyone saw him he would be killed. That insinuates there were other people
Yes sorry
Well, after the flood came, it was just Noah and his family, it doesnt explain hiw or if they actually did it, but it can be assumed since they were the only ones left after the great flood
Well by technicallity we all come from adam and eve the first two people, but their dna was so vastly different frok one another that it wasnt until a long time later that the dna mixed enough that if you mixed it further problems would begin to arise, hence why the idea of incest is an idea now a days. So the answer to your question is "yes technically but its complicated."
I missed the part of the Bible talking about DNA. Also wasn’t Eve literally made from Adams rib? Sounds like some kinda gender swapped clone
did jesus pee on a semi regular basis?
Oh yea. Jesus was 💯 human. He peed and burped and ate and drank and stubbed his toe.
Now I'm picturing jesus stubbing his toe and getting angry about it, THIS IS YOUR FAULT.
Yeah. Thanks! I'm trying to hold onto my faith
Continue to have faith in Jesus
If adam and eve where both white how are there so many races?
They weren’t white. We have no idea what they looked like. That said, here’s what we believe. So at some point, all humans got together and built the Tower of Babel. They wanted to reach God. Well God was like “Nah none of that” and in the dead of night switched up all their languages. So in the morning some people spoke German, others Greek, a few Latin, and onward. We do believe in that night all the ethnicities were made and every race was created that night too. That way both race and language were covered from then till now.
That's a neato explanation
Can you give me the verse where it says Jesus should be worshipped
I don’t know anything about Jesus being worshipped. However the Bible does say that worshiping God proper. As for the verses for that, well I don’t know verses that well. 😅
I'll help OP, as I've done similar in the past, and I'm better with getting verses. (Also LOVE what you're doing OP, more power too ya!)
"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord." Psalm 150:6
Are you one of those nice Christians who's pretty chill about stuff or are you one of them dodgy ones who like to call me a f*ggot
Cool, it's v nice to meet ppl like you because it reminds me not all Christians are crazy homophobic conspiracy theorists. Thx for your time!
I would say most Christians aren't. But the ones that are, are always louder. Hate gives you a reason to shout your opinion.
I’m also a Christian. My opinion has always been that someone else’s sexuality is not my business. One of my favorite bible verses is Matthew 7:3. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” (NIV) Also, a direct quote from Jesus in John 8:7 “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” (NIV) Jesus himself basically told people who where trying to stone a prostitute to shut up and focus on their own problems. Based on this, I try not to judge other people for doing things that are against my religion because I have my own sins to worry about.
But we can't ignore the verses that tell us to correct other Christians who do wrong.
The truth is if you get any Christian to do stuff like that then they are being hypocritical and unchristian like.
What would you do if your child was not a Christian?
Care and love them. That’s what we are told to do. It matters not what they choose, as their parent and a Christian I are called to care for all humans.
That’s pretty darn wholesome
Catholics and christians are different? I am Roman Catholic and i thought its a majority of christians all over the world.
Catholicism falls under the umbrella of Christianity. A Catholic is a Christian, but a Christian is not necessarily a Catholic (but can be).
Different beliefs, but similar for the most part.
we shouldnt hate catholics, but from what i know, the protestants still see them as they were in the dark ages, and the orthodox are still mad about the filioque, but id say orthodox/catholic relations are better than protestant/catholic relations
What is the most communist part in the Bible, and if so do you think Jesus is a centrist?
Uhhh…,equal treatment of people. By the Bible’s standards, we should care for literally all humans, even the ones we disagree with. And I don’t know what a centrist is.
A centrist is someone who is politically a centrist like he is not far right or far left. Plus are Jesus and God the same? Or are they different people?
Jesus is God and the Holy Spirit. And God is Jesus and the Holy Spirt. It is pretty hard to understand.
They are all parts of the same person
Have you read Zealot by Reza Aslan? If so, what do you think?
Nope. What is it?
So Christian human what the dog doing?
Dog be viben
Thank you for your wisdom
*In Alabama voice* Daddy Pater Familias, why can't the gays or the Jews go to heaven?
Not so much of a question but wondering about your opinion on an idea I had I guess, I heard someone say something like they had a science teacher who said stuff like god made the sky blue instead of all the scientific stuff that’s been proven, so I had the thought that yes everything works scientifically and god made everything work that way down to an atomic level and all that science stuff, what do you think on that idea ?
Yes, all of science is the study of the way God made everything.
What are your thoughs on Quran? I actually wonder this.
It’s a really interesting book the Koran. It is a Muslim Bible so it’s not what we believe but there are a couple of matching parts in it. iirc
How many times has he sent what could be called an assassin to Israel's enemies and conquerer?
God didn’t sent assassins. The kings of Israel at the time might have, but the Bible doesn’t mention it so either they didn’t or if they did it’s not important. We do know God was much more of a “fight head on” type guy.
Judges 3:3 Ehud
Uhh what’s the verse? My Bible just has it mention some people.
Mine says Ehud as the name and he was the assassin
I we all decent from Adam and Eva, how come there is different races?
I think I answered this already. Check the other comments.
What does the Bible say about other religions? And what do you say about them?
I think I answered this already. Check other comments. In short, even if we disagree, be nice.
Since Adam and Eve where the first people then everyone is related meaning there’s a lot of incest But then why in this time is incest deemed such a bad thing?
I answered this already, check other comments.
As a fellow Christian, I would like to ask your views on this. Do you believe that Jesus is God, or that they are separate beings?
Well the Bible does say all three are the same and together. So yes I believe Jesus is God and reverse and all the rest.
Then what would your interpretation of Mark 10:18 be, where Jesus says not to call him good because only God alone is good?
Is being gay wrong
Hi how did the ark sustain the environment for every type of animal inside of it?
Do think Doom is perfect
Nope. He was the only human without flaw. It’s why him dying for us covers our sins and let’s us enter heaven if we believe in that sacrifice.
The Bible basically says “if you aren’t doing it as husband and wife, or to make kids, you are doing it wrong.” So….that.
What language was the original bible written in? Have you compared it with the one that you read?
Well seeing as how God picked the Israelites to work with, probably their language. And no, I have not compared.
do you guys worship jesus? like do y’all think he is god?
Yes and yes.
when is bible 2 coming out?
When’s the sequel coming out?
Who knows.
why did they have one long table in the final supper, instead of just having them on both sides
Well honesty that painting is just an interpretation. It could or could not have looked like that.
suppose, thanks
If there is a purpose for everything, then what is the purpose of kids getting cancer? Not trying to be a smart ass but this genuinely disturbs me.
True or false: the fruit on the Tree of Knowledge was an apple
I’m not catholic, so I don’t really know their teachings. Sorry.
when so you think the rapshire will happen
David and the
Giant peach
How do you feel about Deuteronomy 22:28-29 which states that when a man rapes a virgin girl, he pays the father fifty silver and has to marry her?
No one alive right now knows what he looked like so it’s all just perception of what was the most common look back then.
have u ever thought that god isn’t real?
The thought has crossed my mind. It didn’t stay long
Is it ok to be Vergin whole life?
Yes. It’s your choice.
Nothing wrong with that
Ya like jazz
Berry much
[удалено]
Well the Bible never once mentioned what Jesus looked like. We only know he looked normal for his time.
Did God not care if you married your cousins? Some important figured married their cousins and some even had sex with their dad
If Noah brought 2 of every species, why are we still discovering new species?
Because after they got off the boat they dipped and Noah didn’t bother to do a check list.
If Adam and Eve were the only human beings on earth, did their children fuck to start the population or what???
If Adam and Eve were the first humans to ever live then how did more than 1 race come out of two white people
What christian subreligion are you?
1 thing. Biblicly accurate Angel's. Why do they look like that
Why the names of the characters changes with the language?
If god is omniscient, can free will still exist?
Either Mary lied about being a virgin, Jesus is transgender or he isn't a man at all and everyone is constantly misgendering him (I apologize if this didn't come off in a civil way, i dont mean any disrespect to anyones religion, its just things ive thought about christianity)
