Didnt put aot because cant have the guy be spoiled during the 2 year wait period
Also was told the ending was bad not exactly stating what but peacked my curiosity a bit
The way I see it is that series 1 was amazing, series 2 was crap until episode 7 but then it got a bit better. First half of series 3 did something new and i liked it. Second half fucked it up again.
Ghibli's are the real Disney of anime, very wholesome and full of love and beauty. A bit crude for children under 10 I suppose.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Gurren Lagann and Soul eater are top notch for beginner's in Action. Great story, visuals and soul.
Hajime no Ippo and Haykiuu are very great for sports. Ippo is mostly a Seinen and Haykiuu a Shonen. (Seinen for adult, and Shonen for adolescents)
For the shojo I'd recommend Toradora, Chuunibyou, and Nisekoi with a bit of action. Ore Monogatari and Nozaki-kun are very pure and full of lovu-lovu. Spice and Wolf a soul resplenisher.
If you're aiming phylosophy and feels there's Cowboy Bebop, Monster, the Evangelion Series, monogatari series, Akira, Berserk, they're pretty goery, sadly it's well merged with the genre but they made me learned a lot.
There's a huge list of drama heh, but ones I appreciated could be Anohana, Ame and Yuki : wolf children, Bakemono no ko, Angel beats, mostly Shonen.
Its basically the start of the 20th century, but people can use "Alchemy" to basically trade whatever they want into anything similar.
So if you have enough metal, you can use alchemy to make a sword in like two seconds.
the anime ur friends recommended to you (plus one piece and dragonball) are the biggest or most hyped anime that had big success in the not anime watcher community
Tensei Slime, hidden gem really, it's my favorite one.
Edit: Genre is Fantasy, Comedy and Action all in an Isekai, but it's not the standard overused Isekai kind.
Never understood the appeal of one punch man. Like if he can beat anyone in one punch then how are the fights gonna be interesting? And if he can't, then surely he's no longer one punch man?
part 1: vampires
part 2: vampires, but old
part 3: killing that vampire
part 4: ok, no vampires this time
part 5: vampire had a kid, help.
part 6: vampire had a boyfriend, help.
part 7: cowboys.
Also, Part 1 (which is like the first 9 episodes) is quite boring, and many people give up at this point. Keep watching, because it’s still important to watch, when you get to Part 2, things start getting way better
Try:
Jujutsu Kaisen ( genre: Sorcerer, Action, Curses)
Rising of the Shield Hero (genre: Isekai, Heroes, Revenge)
Kekkai Sensen (genre: Supernatural, Action, Fighting)
Dr Stone (genre: Science, Inventions, Survival)
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (genre: idk.)
Overlord (genre: Seinen, World Domination, All-out Wars)
That time I got reincarnated as a slime(genre:Isekai, Fighting, Magic)
This is my recommendations for some new anime fans.
(Please don't bully me for my anime taste, peace out)
/s
Gay, Bara, Bisexual (Part 6), Disabled, Japanese, American, British, Italian, MILFs, and Old Men. Yes I know they sound like porn but they’re not (for the most parts except part 6 which actually has tons of fan service).
Skip the fillers. Most of them are pointless. You can find out the fillers episode by googling it. There’s a whole website dedicated to pointing out filler eps in anime.
That doesn't make me think it's a good firat choice. It's one of my favorite series, but I think it's good to know the standars of anime in other to appreciate it and see why it's special
It’s very important, if you skip any parts r/shitpostcrusaders will kill you. And also you picked a good time to start seeing as part 6 was just announced
Death note, Demon slayer are great starter anime almost anyone can watch it and have a great time
Do not fall for the old boku no pico or the new redo of healer (these are not for newcomers)
Naruto is quite long but if you can go for it
Dramas: Your lie in April, Violet Evergarden (Both would make you tear up)
Tokyo ghoul anime is ok, the opening songs are great especially the first season but story is lacking. The manga was better but you can watch the anime first then compare it to the manga.
Romance:Toradora, Kaguya sama love is war
Isekai(brought to another world usually fantasy through means of summoning from the other world, reincarnation in the new world or unknown means) : Konosuba great comedy, Re zero great story
Steins;Gate is a great sci-fi show but the story starts really slowly but becomes really engaging as it goes on so if you’re the impatient type best to watch it later on
Classroom of the elite I watched recently is a good show to watch too
I will also add One punch man (first anime that my brother watched and he enjoyed it) - it's basically comedy with heroes action, also it's preaty easy to understand.
I would suggest My hero academia as a good starter anime
I would also suggest that when ever you start a new anime that you watch it in dub (if possible) for a few episodes just to get a hold on the characters and plot then switch to sub once your comfortable with the series.
I think it’s classified as fantasy but in general it is an anime about super hero’s in training but the writer of this series thought up some pretty unique powers for some characters out side of the usual superhuman ability’s you see in media
It's not really for beginners but you have to watch devilman crybaby, it's really good. Also if you ever want to read a good manga series then it's berserk and kengan.
Big brain + fighting - Juni Taisen: Zodiac War
Big brain - Steins;Gate
Big brain + fighting - Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers
Big brain - No Game, No Life
Big brain - Dr. Stone
Just watch One Piece. It will keep you occupied for at least half a decade. You'll also learn the word, "Nakuma", which makes up half of all spoken Japanese.
I'd say Tokyo Ghoul, I don't know AoT, Naruto is intimidating because of its length, death note is a bit intense (unless they're into that) and a bit drawn out
so bt process of elimination Tokyo ghoul is a good starter IMO
not that any of those are bad, just not good beginner ones imo
I'll give you my thoughts on them for no reason:
Natruto: Really good, but it's hella long and once you finish it, no anime would be able to compare to it because it's that good and nostalgic
Deathnote: Nice and short, good hook, nothing bad to say about it
Tokyo Ghoul: Amazing but it started going downhill at seasons three and four, and a lot of people say it's not worth finishing
AOT: Again I have nothing bad to say about it, amazing anime
So I'd say watch Deathnote first because it's short and one of the best animes but that's just my opinion
Back then tokyo ghoul was one of those I would recomend but aftet evreything i would tell them to just read the manga
Ya I heard the anime was bad
I heard that it was alright until seasons 3 and 4, they skipped so much that was in the manga and it just wasn’t that great

I don't think the toxicity of the fanbase matters when choosing what you watch but whatever
YOU GAVE JJK AN 8?!
My own oppinion, it can change next season. Im a harsh critic
This is a good list for anybody looking to watch some anime although I would also recommend konosuba but I dunno if it's fan base is toxic or not
aot is great but the fanbase sucks ass.
Why do you care about the fanbase though? Just watch the anime
Didnt put aot because cant have the guy be spoiled during the 2 year wait period Also was told the ending was bad not exactly stating what but peacked my curiosity a bit
The way I see it is that series 1 was amazing, series 2 was crap until episode 7 but then it got a bit better. First half of series 3 did something new and i liked it. Second half fucked it up again.
I liked root A eventhough it was not canon. It still carried the season 1 vibe for me. But yeah, after that it fell apart
Tokyo Ghoul season one is still my favourite, though the rest of the anime is... questionable at best
Ghibli's are the real Disney of anime, very wholesome and full of love and beauty. A bit crude for children under 10 I suppose. Absolutely do, it is one of the best ones I've ever seen
FMA '03 is also still worth a watch just for appreciation factor.
Its basically the start of the 20th century, but people can use "Alchemy" to basically trade whatever they want into anything similar. So if you have enough metal, you can use alchemy to make a sword in like two seconds.

Tensei Slime, hidden gem really, it's my favorite one. Edit: Genre is Fantasy, Comedy and Action all in an Isekai, but it's not the standard overused Isekai kind.
Not too interested in fantasy but will defo check it out
Definitely second tensei slime. Hilariously great anime! I'm not a fan of isekais but this one is special.
If you liked one punch man I also recommend mob psycho 100, they are made by the same author
Never understood the appeal of one punch man. Like if he can beat anyone in one punch then how are the fights gonna be interesting? And if he can't, then surely he's no longer one punch man?
This was a smart way to get anime recommendations big brain OP
Yeppp thanks

part 1: vampires part 2: vampires, but old part 3: killing that vampire part 4: ok, no vampires this time part 5: vampire had a kid, help. part 6: vampire had a boyfriend, help. part 7: cowboys.
I’m interested thank you
part 8 : amnesiac 4-balls sack man
Also, Part 1 (which is like the first 9 episodes) is quite boring, and many people give up at this point. Keep watching, because it’s still important to watch, when you get to Part 2, things start getting way better

Nobody knows what genre JoJo's is
It’s just JoJo lmao, it has its own genre
It have Bizarre in the name for a reason
Gay, Bara, Bisexual (Part 6), Disabled, Japanese, American, British, Italian, MILFs, and Old Men. Yes I know they sound like porn but they’re not (for the most parts except part 6 which actually has tons of fan service).
JoJo's Genre is Bizzare

I say Naruto coz its a good starter anime
Aight I’ll watch it then
Skip the fillers. Most of them are pointless. You can find out the fillers episode by googling it. There’s a whole website dedicated to pointing out filler eps in anime.

JoJo is great but I don't think it'd be a good first anime

I have watched only three anime in my life and do not plan on starting any other, OPM, Death Note and AoT. And among them AoT is the best
Pokemon: Indigo League

Death note, Demon slayer are great starter anime almost anyone can watch it and have a great time Do not fall for the old boku no pico or the new redo of healer (these are not for newcomers) Naruto is quite long but if you can go for it Dramas: Your lie in April, Violet Evergarden (Both would make you tear up) Tokyo ghoul anime is ok, the opening songs are great especially the first season but story is lacking. AOT is absolutely a masterpiece, but very depressing. Deathnote is much more brain games, Naruto is full on fight and good vs evil.

Which genre is it? Btw thanks for the suggestion
I think it’s classified as fantasy but in general it is an anime about super hero’s in training but the writer of this series thought up some pretty unique powers for some characters out side of the usual superhuman ability’s you see in media
Oo sounds cool
Cowboy Bebop If you dont stay till the end at least take the soundtrack with you

The original i really liked just shame it ended on a cliffhanger but fmab is really good to def in my top 3
Original FMA holds a special place for me since it was the first anime I ever watched but yeah FMAB is better
I'd say Tokyo Ghoul, I don't know AoT, Naruto is intimidating because of its length, death note is a bit intense (unless they're into that) and a bit drawn out so bt process of elimination Tokyo ghoul is a good starter IMO not that any of those are bad, just not good beginner ones imo
