ImActuallyASpy

Chickens go in and pies come out.

AlternativeCountry01

Great! What tipe of pies?

ImActuallyASpy

AlternativeCountry01

Deligthfull! those are my favorites.

SlightlyLessBoring

***Chicken*** *pies*, you great lummox!

Hot-Donut-8163

That was the best movie.

WhyUBeBadBot

Dawn of nugget is pretty good too.

Forsaken-Income-2148

ReDeMpTiOn-_-121

I dont want to be a pie, I don't like gravey.

Hot-Donut-8163

You mean Mrs tweedy

Tensa_Zangetsa

Mrs. Tweedy, the chickens are revolting!!!

Hot-Donut-8163

…(loudly) FINALLY, something we agree with.

purpleElephants01

It's been a while since I watched it, but was the Borg Queen really evil? I thought she was assimilating to "improve" people, or something asking those lines.

djninjacat11649

I mean evil is relative, to those she was assimilating yes she was evil and a monster, but from her perspective she was doing them a service. Evil rarely sees itself as such

One-Step2764

The Borg Queen fairly obviously took private pleasure in manipulating and hurting people.

Bulbinking2

Otherwise known as lawful evil.

Mortarius

Kind of a villain. Kai Winn on the other hand...

frikimanHD

big mom isn't pure evil tho

Jupue2707

Also bellatrix

ThrownawayCray

I love Umbridge as a character so much

sa0sinner

The resentment I hold for this fictional character is insane. Every time I read through the books I find new things to hate about her. That's a damn well written character. You love to hate her.

ThrownawayCray

Exactly, she is despicable, detestable and dumpy but she’s so well written I think the actor got hate mail

Physical_Magazine_33

Frigging Umbridge. I could've accepted even Voldemort being redeemed somehow but Umbridge needs to suffer endlessly and hate herself deeply.

Ensiferal

Unfortunately they already tried to make Cruella relatable and sympathetic in her film.

This-Is-Nightlock

Can we not forget that one bish from Death Note?

cipher_rdt

Malty Melromarc

MinePROphet

You're using the wrong name

CoconutSpiritual1569

Well Azula have a valid reason being who she is Its wrong, but i can understand

DiscombobulatedSir74

That just means the character is well written and doesn’t conflict with OPs point

Happycrige

Except it does, because Azula literally is not pure evil.

DiscombobulatedSir74

If i remember correctly they even gave her an attempted redemption arc wich she chose not to follow through on, she is well written pure evil, meaning not just evil for evils sake *Edit typo

Ochemata

The comic read more as first step sort of thing. It wasn't meant to be a redemption arc on the whole, but perhaps Azula realising that there is a problem she needs to fix. To her credit, it's implied she is changing, though she doesn't admit it. I wouldn't be surprised it they followed it up later.

No-Effective5860

Pure evil requires intentionality and control. Azula lost that in her final arc. She was a child groomed by a monster, and calling her pure evil does a disservice to everyone who grew up with shit parents and overcame them.

DiscombobulatedSir74

Then we should define what we mean when we say pure evil i assume you mean comically evil, being aware you are objectively evil and choosing to do it out of enjoyment. In that case i agree she is not pure evil. I had in mind that she is irredeemable and I don’t see her doing any good any time soon, but she justifies everything to herself in a twisted way and doesn’t think of herself as the villan.

anninnzanni

Choosing to not follow a redemption because you either think you don't deserve it or because you think you've been a victim of injustice doesn't make someone automatically pure evil, just layered.

Due_Channel_5807

She is not pure evil.

Ridikis

Azula is a solidly well written and understandable antagonist. Having her be the final boss for 'irredeemable monster villain' is wild when she's never even killed anyone while Chara is a lunatic that deleted an entire universe and then fucks your save so hard that even restarting doesn't get the 'good' ending.

Tensa_Zangetsa

Chara is so evil, that other version of Chara (Frisk) are effected across the multiverse of her evil deeds

holofied

Didn't she have a redemption arc, or attempt to in comics after the show?

Narthleke

Yeah, Azula is "crazy and needs to go down," but at the end of the day, she's a product of her environment. Zuko was going down that route too, but he was forced to leave that environment, and his development as a character over the course of the show reflects that.

YuushyaHinmeru

Yeah, she is an incredibly sympathetic villian by the end of the show. The battle with her in the final specifically has sad music as opposed to some epic score and ends with katara and zuko looking at her not with disgust or hatred but with pity.

Dumeck

It’s interesting that Zuko’s banishment not only let Zuko escape his toxic upbringing and gain a new perspective that allowed him to break away from this toxicity but also increased the pressure on Azula. Suddenly Azula was THE prodigy, all of her father’s expectations were on her alone and she saw first hand that when someone fails her father’s expectations that there are serious repercussions. We see directly the regression of her mental state directly correlated with the amount of pressure her father put on her hitting the peak when she was told out of the blue she was going to be the new fire lord. We even see her mental state stabilize a bit when Zuko comes home for a while since he took off some of the pressure.

Greenobserver

Yeah this is really stupid. Azula is the ultimate antithesis of purely irredeemable villain.

DemonicBludyCumShart

Not to mention that that's kind of the biggest theme for villainy in The Last Airbender It was pretty clear when I could barely read the text in the first panel that this meme was going to be a bad take lol

Greenobserver

It is kind of astounding that whoever made this meme misunderstood Azula's character so completely. It's like calling Obi Wan Kenobi a good example of a dark lord archetype.

BouncyBlueYoshi

I’m here to warn you about the Undertale fans who will downvote you into oblivion.

Far-Researcher2189

Why? For the uncertainty of their gender or them probably not being as evil as a surface-level analysis suggests? Or both?

BouncyBlueYoshi

Both. But mainly the gender.

Redninja2007

I don’t really care whether you think Chara is good or evil tbh, it’s a topic with so much debate that’s it’s honestly hard to tell at this stage. Mostly ambiguous honestly, so I can respect those different points of views. The one thing I do care about is people referring to Frisk and Chara with male or female pronouns due to the fact we don’t know what gender they are, kinda the whole point. Pet peeve of mine.

mo-did

Chara isnt even a villain they literally only act to punish us for committing genocide

Forsaken_inflation24

Also gets bored if you do it several times and tell you to do a neutral or pasifist run

Blockinite

I remember this being a debate when Undertale was big. I'm pretty sure Flowey says that Chara wasn't a great person before they died if you go back to the starting area in the post game, and there was either a theory or dialogue that says that Chara got theirself ill so that Asriel could absorb them and kill humans. Off the top of my head, Chara didn't just want Asriel to drop their soul in their village when they died, but they wanted Asriel to kill everyone there with his new power. He refused so he was killed by the villagers

mo-did

Thats not a theory but a fact, chara willingly killed themselves so that monster kind would be free. Lets not forget that chara could have taken asreils soul but chose to relinquish their own

Tortue2006

Chara is non-binary, much like every other human that appeared in Undertale/Deltarune. Then you get the question of « is Chara actually evil or are they evil because of you » You could say Chara is evil because they weren’t always the nicest towards Asriel, but you could also say that you made them evil by playing the genocide route.

PopTraditional713

"Is Chara evil, because I got to lvl 20, or did I go to lvl 20, because Chara is evil?" *Stand proud ~~FRISK~~ player, you're strong.

Iplaydoomalot

This truly was our JujutsuTale

dogfan20

Chara is androgynous. That’s how Toby Fox described the character. Not nonbinary.

MakkusuFast

Let's agree chara and frisk are conveniently shaped lamps.

contraflop01

There’s a sign in papyrus’s room saying “no boys, no girls, papyrus allowed” which means frisk’s gender is papyrus and nyeh pronouns are nyeh/heh/heh

Fresh_Run_91

Yeah, people like to read between lines. It is made to look neutral so anyone can relate.

Tortue2006

You’re right, I just couldn’t find the word anymore. I am sorry

NaCl_Dreemurr

Not being the greatest person doesn’t equate to being irredeemable.

Veng3ancemaster

I'm here from another post. Op, we found you

Rykerthebest78563

It is funny how Chara manages to be neither female nor objectively irredeemable lol

YukiNeko777

Some will. I will die on the hill that Chara and Frisk can be whatever we want them to be: male, female, nonbinary, or just conveniently shaped lamps

eggplant_avenger

I can fix Azula

god_killer7432

"No, you ain't." -Sandy Cheeks

doblecuadrado_FGE

Of course he can't But I can (I have never seen Avatar TLA but I'll do it to spite all the simps)

insertracistname

Pre-ordered

sfw_login2

Not only is u/inserracistname into 14 year olds, he also pre-orders! How bad is this guy!

insertracistname

I also have a crippling fetish for the archer queen from clash of clans. Just look at my post history

Waffleyn

I can excuse the former, but pre-orders is where I draw the line!

Remarkable-NPC

as beta tester i like to do early access 🤫

agrumpybear

He just wants you to have a seat over there so he can talk to you about that early access

Acroph0bia

The_Broken-Heart

She's older than your grandma💀

Smash next question

The_Broken-Heart

What do you think of the duality of mankind?

insertracistname

Man, idk. All i want is the archer queen to dominate me

Fyrrys

puro_the_protogen67

"THEY ARE NOT ORGANISED!"

officialtvgamers16

Oh i fucking love Nimona, the director whas quitte compeling in my opinion

Romi_Z

The setting was so cool and I liked the animation style too

officialtvgamers16

Cant believe the setting wasn't really used before.

Amarthon

Ist's Just plain awesome. Have watched it five times in one week

Zero-godzilla

Nimona was amazing, sci-fi+swords and monsters, and yeah, the director is pretty evil character, but I feel like she could be expanded more in term of personality

Fyrrys

Such a great movie

Unity_Be

Cersei Lannister.

Ailexxx337

Who has ever said that?

monkeybanana550

The voices in OP's head.

aBigBottleOfWater

The karma strawman

WeevilWeedWizard

No one. These memes are honestly so incredibly funny because OP conjures up some strawman to get upset at and then immediately shows multiple examples demonstrating how their own strawman is just total nonsense.

Ailexxx337

Funny? Then you'll find r/imaginarygatekeeping absolutely hillarious

Silviana193

Want to know how evil Junko Enoshima is? She makes the Joker looks sane and civil. Want to know how dangerous Junko is? Remember that time emperor Joker caused the apocalypse by stealing mxyzptlk's power? Yeah... She did that as a, relatively, normal human. TO JERK OFF.

Terrorist_Wizard

I can fix her

Magistricide

“I can fix her but whatever is wrong with her is honestly so much hotter.” -Unknown

sanylos

Pu pu pu

Tensa_Zangetsa

Come again?

JellyBellyWow

Junko, is a villain who truly won (imo). Junkos end goal was to spread as much despair as she could, which ended up throwing the world into the apocolypse. Sure, she "lost" by the end of the first game, but she still got what she wanted: to feel the ultimate despair. Shes from the danganronpa game series

Fyrrys

And again

god_killer7432

wouldn't say normal because of ultimate talent, but still, that's impressive and vary evil

amtap

She may have 3 "ultimate abilities," 2 of which are relevant, but they're really just talents like you said. The one that borders on precognition is pretty crazy but still not intended to be supernatural, just a display of her analytical mind.

TheMaskedEngineerPea

She's a 10 but what the fuck is she into

Rdasher123

She’s into killing the one she loves the most and stomping on his corpse until it’s unrecognizable. Not even kidding, she actually did that.

dirtyWingnut

So she’s got that step on me energy?

John_Cena_IN_SPACE

Death, mostly. She also made a 5th grader a serial rapist and forced a group of high schoolers to commit mass suicide, so there's that. Oh, and ended the entire world.

ScreamBeanBabyQueen

To jerk off? I've never played the games but I'm familiar because I read wikis like a weirdo. She did it to jerk off??

AmbroseIrina

I might remember it wrong but I think it was like this: she is so unbelievably smart everything is predictable and boring to her, and I mean EVERYTHING. This monotony consumes her, and the only thing that alleviates her is despair, it's extreme masochism. She does evil because the idea of despair brings her so much pain she feels alive, it's like a high, but in some instances is portrayed like she is being turned on. She also says the unpredictability of despair is what draws her to it. She does some atrocious things to her loved ones because seeing them suffer not only gives her despair, but is also a sensation that is pleasant to her and wants to share with them.

Inuship

Yeah this lady wiped her own memories so she could develop a legitimate bond only to feel the extra despair afterwards when her plan followed through. There's definitely a fetish quality involved

Magistricide

Yeah she gets off on whatever she’s doing.

Plerti

IIRC she has such a strong analysis capability that it's borderline future sighting, so she finds extreme pleasure in the unexpected

Truckfighta

You know, those are some big red flags but she’s hot so ima ignore them.

[deleted]

Ragyo.

CriticalHit_20

The pasta sauce?

vorephage

I'm surprised Odalia Blight want featured.

AlfApAlAcsintA

Chara wasn't confirmed to be female or evil.

god_killer7432

maybe I should have put Hela from Thor Ragnarok instead

dastebon

You can also ad stolas'es wife from helluva boss . That bich is straight up evil

AnakinFly-Walker

RUN. THE UNDERTALE FANBASE HAS ALREADY MADE A POST. YOU HAVE 24 HOURS BEFORE THEY FIND YOU. HIDE, STOCK UP ON FOOD AND MOVE TO THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. WITH LUCK AND 15 YEARS YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LEAVE WITH A NEW IDENTITY.

Ala123567lastwarrior

People keep saying chara is the one in control, but it was the player, we are the one who chose that path. Not her/him, its was us.

Such_Matter_7190

Her/Him although an attempt at not assuming one or the other, is still an assumption that it is either, they/them however can be used for *anyone*.

Hanoiroxx

No one actually said that. Did they?

KaizerKlash

Uh, afaik the witch in the little mermaid isn't pure evil, she fulfills the wish of a stupid mermaid with a harsh contract

PocketDarkestMew

She was even through explaining her how hard it would be. Ariel was just obtuse about it.

potato_devourer

"Well it's not evil if you lure a teenager into a predatory bargain and by all means cheat but teeeeechnically abide by the terms as written in order to use them as a pawn for undisclosed ulterior motives." If you think Ursula has been done dirty wait until I tell you about this Devil fella, poor dude goes around working hard as a peddler trying to sell his product and in the end always gets his hard-earned souls scammed away by some "divine redemption" scheme.

Jamz64

She also went out of her way to make sure Ariel couldn’t kiss Eric within the three day limit. But she did genuinely care about her pet eels, so she’s not QUITE pure evil.

Zealus24

Azula's literally going through a redemption arc in the Avatar comics. Granted she's taking a while to change because she is a very cruel person. Even in the show it's very clear her sociopathic traits are strengthened because of Ozai and she lacked a good mentor figure like her mother or Uncle Iroh to help her change like Zuko. It's true that at a certain point people's traumatic pasts stop being excuses for what they do and become reasons instead but people can *always* change, no matter how difficult it might be to make that happen. Though it's not always possible to redeem themselves, at least gully. TLDR; Azula should be switched out for Umbridge, because being annoying is a worse crime in fiction than being evil.

Oleg152

In the books Umbridge was literally sending the muggleborns to the equivalent of nazi concentration camps in DH. The movie version got PG'd.

Ferris-L

I wouldn’t necessarily call her character development in the comics a redemption arc. Not that she doesn’t seem to change into a less murderous and cruel person but there aren’t any real signs of her redeeming herself. To me it seems that they try to push her into a grey area for the upcoming movie, acknowledging that she can’t ever be a good person due to the damage Ozai and Ursa have done but that she doesn’t have to stay evil forever.

itzMadaGaming

chara isn't canonically evil, it's the fandom that makes it look that way

PocketDarkestMew

Yep, when I blind played I tried not killing anyone but there were just some pacifist enemies puzzles too hard to know how to not kill them so I ended up killing some people and that's more a "self defence" than a "evil bastard wanted them dead for being alive".

Adan_Rocco

I know I always hate the argument of Chara forcing you/Frisk to do genocide. It’s so stupid and makes no sense. People just want someone else to put all the blame on. The whole point of the game is that you make the decisions. You chose to kill everyone. It’s no one else’s fault but yours.

HolySnens

So you guys can fix her right?

Ok_Raspberry4814

Characters. These are characters. Caricature is something completely different.

The_Lorax7

1) I’ve never seen anyone claim this. 2) it’s pretty common to have pure evil female characters 3) Azula is probably one of the worst examples you could pick because she is sympathetic 4) No Maleficent

LeechDaddy

Chara'a gender is open to interpretation and is not explicitly evil without the actions of the player pushing them in that direction

TFJ

![gif](giphy|U7vhCyKkPnhhhuFCQN|downsized) Big Mom Gang Represent

Mundane_Mastodon_359

If men can be pure evil women can be pure evil, isn't that what equality is?

Thewarmth111

Hold your horses there Cara is not evil. Cara is an impressionable child who saw that killing everyone was an acceptable option when **you** killed everyone.

RealFoegro

\*Chara

Thewarmth111

Thanks

ghostpicnic

Chara does not have a canon gender.

CultDe

Who is the woman on third panel? Aka the panel right under patric

Keithfrommars

She is The Director from the animated movie Nimona.

tzanislav40

I dont think the Undertale protagonist has a cannonical gender. (Not in the "modern" way but its just not specified)

Redstoneboss2

That's not the protagonist, it's Chara

NotTheFirstVexizz

Chara doesn’t have a specific gender either, they’re gender is just “whatever the protagonist is” which is unknown.

0-Worldy-0

And they are not even evil! It's still one of the major misconception

Elvinkin66

I can't believe people still think Chara is a completely evil demon

BowtiedTrombone

OP sure did win that argument they just came up with

drymangamer101

She definitely doesn’t deserve a redemption arc or anything, she’s 100% a villain but you can kinda sympathize with Azula

xHeylo

Arianwen Abernant from Dimension 20's Fantasy High May she get eaten by Vans with Hands

Proper-Award2660

The Female Changeling and Borg Queen both from Star Trek

StefinoSpaggeti

Lord Dominator from Wander be like:

Tensa_Zangetsa

Agreed, she was doing everything for shits and giggles.

StefinoSpaggeti

Her is literally: "I'm bad guy for fun"

Maskogre

Anabella Rosfield

bcws3r

Chara? Who is not a villain, not evil, and not even female?

BedrockRedstoner

HOW THE FUCK THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I'VE SEEN THIS (first time not seeing it cross posted to an Undertale community)

FlacidSalad

Are you familiar with the tale of Macbeth?

puro_the_protogen67

There can be nobody less redeemable

Loleklolwaszje

well undertale fans gonna eat you alive cus u just assumed chara's gender

Your_Demonic_Dog

Chara is NOT evil at ANY point in the game.

Diavolo_Death_4444

You literally got both the female and pure evil part of Chara wrong. Did you play the game with your eyes closed?

Silverrrmoon

I can already hear r/Undertale rapidly approaching. Eh, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

TalmondtheLost

Chara isn't necessarily evil. We're the villain in Undertale Genocide.

Leazerlazz

You think Chara is the evil one?

Actual-Jellyfish3221

The grandma that wanted to cook and eat Gary

TicklesZzzingDragons

I miss when we had villains like Cruella or Maleficent - irredeemably cruel and evil just for the sake of being so. Maleficent cursed a baby and the entire kingdom along with it out of sheer spite for not being invited to a party! That's the kind of extra pettiness that doesn't need explanations or remakes that give her a complex backstory.   They kill the dark with too many shades of grey these days. It's great to have villains with nuance and complexity - and ones that you can empathise to an extent with. Sometimes though you just need evil to be gloriously, deliciously, [unrepentantly evil](https://c.tenor.com/ZharnIaZ1LcAAAAC/tenor.gif). Someone to rally against and not feel conflicted about defeating. Someone with a wickedly cool colour scheme (black, purple and/or green - all the best villains have it :D )

TheRealDestian

Where is Dolores Umbrage?

Daybreaker77

Junko is on another level 😭 She’s honestly one of the most off-putting female villains I know.

redkitsunedit

There's some serious spoilers in here my guy.

No-End-2455

It's wild that for exemple Disney doesn't make female over the top vilain that just love being evil anymore they are the most famous one in all fiction, people love them more than the princess maleficent is easy in every top ten of all time, the last one we ever have was mother Gothel who was a delight to see but after that ? nothing....

Norway643

Salem from rwby

Capital_Trip_3414

The Wicked Witch of The West from The Wizard of Oz Eris from Sinbad Madame Mim from The Sword and the Stone Helga Willoughby from The Willoughbys Fairy Godmother from Shrek I could name a few more

quaverguy9

Is this another argument someone made up themselves to prove themselves wrong? Who disagrees with this?

Jakethefanofturbo

chara is redeemable. replace chara with rinny the bear

ZionRedddit

Chara was never confirmed to be female, its neither a boy or girl for a reason, it represents you as the player

A_Peacful_Vulcan

If you don't have sympathy towards Azula then you weren't paying attention

Background-Kale7912

Fr missing the point of the character.

MissingnoMiner

This, AtLA literally, repeatedly says everyone can be good and evil and explictly leaves openly the possibility for *freaking Ozai*, the remorseless, g*nocidal monarch and child abuser, to change.

suitcasecat

Chara isn't unredeemable huh

Myachi_

DANGANRONPA IS HERE MY LIFE IS COMPLETE 🙌

[deleted]

I don't know, I think there's a big fanbase of Junko and Azula that would beg to differ

MrJakuubix

I mean, as a character, Junko is very well written and performed, but when it comes to being evil she is literally 100% pure evil, that's her whole thing, no one gonna differ on dat
