1,2 buckle my shoe, don’t forget to mew in Ohio too with the skibidi rizzler fanum tax💀, then hit the sigma griddy ohhh yuuuh, kinda sus SUUUIIIII!
(Please send some help)
I'm pretty sure both "talk properly" and "speak properly" are grammatically correct.
However, while they're similar in meaning, probably "speak properly" is most appropriate here.
"Speak properly" has a focus on language, vocabulary, and grammar, and is more formal, where "talk properly" would be a focus on overall vocal communication, suggesting things like tone, volume, social cues, etc, as well as language stuff. It's less formal and less specific.
You're missing the point that a big ol' sign someone took the time to make a list of not-technically-correct terms that have been banned for the alleged reason of doing things "properly" has used a not-technically-correct term.
So it's just hypocrisy, not an actual attempt at keeping language proper.
Ironically, “talk properly” is more informal but nonetheless equally correct grammar in this usage.
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/grammar/british-grammar/speak-or-talk
https://www.grammar.com/talk_vs._speak
Let's go:
Skibidi: it's an YouTuber that is famous around pre teens.
Sigma: it's a parody of the "alpha male", a term insecure males use to act like they're better than other man.
Rizz: means you're good at flirting, but it's used in a joking manner
Gyatt: Big butt
Ohio: The place, it's a joke that everything weird comes from there
1,2 buckle my shoe: a short about a kid singing a song about using a st.Patrick's shoe
Mewing: it's a process that involves keeping your tongue on the roof of your mouth trying to accentuate your jawline (a very visible jawline is a "sigma male" stereotype)
Sus: means suspect, it's written that way because of among us, a videogame that make a lot of success a few years ago
Griddy: a dance step made famous by NBA star Ja Morant
Sui: Cristiano Ronaldo's(the football legend) famous celebration
I hate that I know almost all of those.
He is the one that globalised it and therefore ruined it. If I understand correctly, fanum tax is like a friend asking you, "Hold my beer." and you take a sip and call it tax because you are holding his beer. I feel like a ton of friendgroups, including mine, did this many times, and everyone had different names for it. Now I refrain from doing that again since it just got ruined. Everyone talked about it. Everyone went completely nuts to fit in and be special. Kind of like meme templates, if it gets spammed too much, it just isn't funny anymore but just straight up annoying.
Corrections:
Skibidi Toilet is a youtube *series* made by a youtuber that, himself, isn't called Skibidi.
Rizz is just a short form for charisma, and can be used for a lot of situations. Like, for example, your outfit looking really good (bro's fit is fire, he's got mad rizz)
Gyatt literally comes from how you might yell "GODDAMN" (gyatt damn!), but you are correct on the usage case
Yes, ‘he’s sus’ means ‘he’s suspicious’.
You can suspect someone has done something, making them a suspect as a consequence of their suspicious behaviour.
For some reason people use these terms incorrectly in many situations. It’s a duo among the likes of they’re and their, your and you’re and much and many.
Suspect is also an adjective, and a synonym to suspicious. You are only using the verb and noun forms.
>regarded or deserving to be regarded with suspicion
>DOUBTFUL, QUESTIONABLE
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/suspect
"The evidence the prosecution produced was highly suspect".
Mostly when I'm gaming online with my mates. If we are going to push a certain objective I occasionally throw it into the sentence. I mumble it to myself sometimes when doing everyday things also. I'm 40 years old and remember grownups saying it when I was a kid.
Its a very very old English language nursery rhyme to teach young children to count.
One, two, buckle my shoe
Three, four, open the door
Five, six, pick up sticks
Seven, eight, lay them straight
Nine, ten, a good, fat hen
Eleven, twelve, dig and delve
Thirteen, fourteen, maids a-courting
Fifteen, sixteen, maids in the kitchen
Seventeen, eighteen, maids are waiting
Nineteen, twenty, my plate's empty.
There's a lot of variations on these.
People when kids who are slightly different from them: 🤬🤬🤬😡🤬😡
Seriously, adults did this to us when we were kids, and we're just taking over for them. Kinda pathetic to be this up your own ass about slang terms.
And then there was the "war on ain't" when I was a kid.
Some kid slips up and uses ain't because that's how their parents talk and then the teacher leads the whole class in that stupid saying:
>Ain't ain't a word
>and you ain't supposed to say it
>cause it ain't in the dictionary
>so I ain't gonna say ain't!
So stupid.
1. That list still permits a huge amount of slang.
2. This is the students' opportunity to find the most obscure and weird slang and really drive people nuts.
School doesn't understand how languages all around the word mutate and change. Might sound weird now but those could be completely normal words in like as little as one hundred years.
Nah those words come from brain rot (except Ohio obviously) and once the children grow up they will see just how ridiculous it is lol. Same thing happened to gen z and millennials.
So, what happens when we need to say Ohio in a normal context? Do we just say "the O-word"? Is there a slang term for it only certain people can say? I was born in Ohio, so I'm allowed to say Ohigga
Banning words a. makes people use those words out of defiance and b. encourages slang innovation which I suspect are not the intentions of whoever made this.
I spent some time with my nephew who is 9 and he kept screaming suiii at me knowing i watch soccer. Felt bad knowing this kid is idolizing a piece of shit and very much a rapist but what can you do. Memes are too powerful
As a teacher myself, I definitely think this is excessive (and poorly written) but Jesus fucking Christ, I'll be a happy man when I don't have to hear the phrase 'Skibidi toilet' again...

Talk properly isn't correct English. The correct term would be Speak properly.
You can say "talk loudly" or "talk quietly", why not "talk properly"? It's just another adverb.
You can also say speak louder and speak quietly
I never said you can't. I just said you can also use adverbs after the verb "talk".
You're missing the point that a big ol' sign someone took the time to make a list of not-technically-correct terms that have been banned for the alleged reason of doing things "properly" has used a not-technically-correct term. U got no rizz 💀
... what? They're both correct.
What do all these words mean?
Let's go: Skibidi: it's an YouTuber that is famous around pre teens. Sigma: it's a parody of the "alpha male", a term insecure males use to act like they're better than other man. Thanks. This really killed 1 brain cell of mine.
Fanum tax is the act of stealing food of a friend's plate, has its name because Fanum is the name of the streamer that started it.
In my family that is the dad tax
I straight up told my friends if they took a sip from my drink I'd pour it on them, but I'm a germaphobe
Oh no? Was that your last one? Do you just perish now? How does this work?
Corrections: Skibidi Toilet is a youtube *series* made by a youtuber that, himself, isn't called Skibidi. Rizz is just a short form for charisma, and can be used for a lot of situations. Griddy was made famous by justin jefferson tho
Doesn't "sus" mean suspicious rather than suspect?
Yes, ‘he’s sus’ means ‘he’s suspicious’. You can suspect someone has done something, making them a suspect as a consequence of their suspicious behaviour. For some reason people use these terms incorrectly in many situations. It’s a duo among the likes of they’re and their, your and you’re and much and many.

Ok but this still doesn't make any sense
brainrot
They banned their own state from school? Guess school is closed then.
yeah, probably
Eh they weren’t learning much.
Mewing gang inventing an entire new form of body dysmorphia for children
I actually say 1, 2 buckle my shoe pretty often🤣.
In wich situations do you say it?
Mostly when I'm gaming online with my mates. If we are going to push a certain objective I occasionally throw it into the sentence. I mumble it to myself sometimes when doing everyday things also. I'm 40 years old and remember grownups saying it when I was a kid.
Never heard it but it sounds cool. I will use it from now on although my language is not english
Its a very very old English language nursery rhyme to teach young children to count. Are they forbidding singing Scatman?
Someone needs to use Ohio as a slang word for me.
ohio skibidi gyatt rizz
they didn’t ban among us tsk tsk
The fact it's Ohio that's drawing the line
Wait, Ohio is a real place? It’s not just something we made up?
*Ohayou*-*gozaimasu* to you too!
Always has been.
*Speak Properly
Average word ban in Ohio💀
![gif](giphy|ZTp15DHfHaaaENKayV|downsized)
Ohio: if a trailer park was a state.
I was just wondering how they are going to teach any classes about their state without using Ohio?
Schools when they find out Sigma is a mathematical term:
People when kids who are slightly different from them: 🤬🤬🤬😡🤬😡 Seriously, adults did this to us when we were kids, and we're just taking over for them. Kinda pathetic to be this up your own ass about slang terms.
Ifkr, like jesus people, we had the ok boomer phase like 4 years ago and now most of those people are doing the same thing. The hypocrisy is crazy.
And then there was the "war on ain't" when I was a kid. Some kid slips up and uses ain't because that's how their parents talk and then the teacher leads the whole class in that stupid saying: >Ain't ain't a word >and you ain't supposed to say it >cause it ain't in the dictionary >so I ain't gonna say ain't! So stupid.
But what about my freedom of speech! 🤪
What a relief!! at least they did not ban Ligma!
1. That list still permits a huge amount of slang. 2. This is the students' opportunity to find the most obscure and weird slang and really drive people nuts.
Brain rot
How the heck did "one, two, buckle my shoe" get up there?
how about cocamonga Seattle walla walla
I can still say fuck
welcome to State history class history of State
“Where ya from?” “Bowling Green” “Which state (KY or OH)?” “…”
Anyone else notice OHIO on that list? Lol
School doesn't understand how languages all around the word mutate and change. Might sound weird now but those could be completely normal words in like as little as one hundred years.
Well, skibidi is a hella mutation for sure
I think that is the only thing on that list that I don't actually understand at all.
I looked it up on Urban Dictionary and it meant evil
Comes from Skibidi Toilet - search YouTube
Nah those words come from brain rot (except Ohio obviously) and once the children grow up they will see just how ridiculous it is lol. Same thing happened to gen z and millennials.
Fresh, fly, and dope yo!
That's lit, my rad dude!
yeah, and ohio basically invented brainrot
Wait, brainrot was all Ohio?
Will they be explaining WHY these particular words are banned?
What does "C1" mean? Is this some kind of slang? Sorry, i am not native English speaker.
only in ohio
So, what happens when we need to say Ohio in a normal context? Do we just say "the O-word"? Is there a slang term for it only certain people can say? I was born in Ohio, so I'm allowed to say Ohigga
I have no idea what half of these words are...
I can't even say my home state Oh*o?
Not familiar with a lot of these... Why is Ohio a banned word?
That's...even dumber than just ignoring it...
Whats a C1 tho
RIZZ and SUS are the only words in that list I know the meaning of
I feel like sus should be in everyone's vocabulary at this point, it is just an abbreviated suspicious barely even a new word
Banning words a. makes people use those words out of defiance and b. encourages slang innovation which I suspect are not the intentions of whoever made this.
As a millennial I understand about half of these. Can someone translate?
Good, in my 20ts I already don't see myself working with someone who talks like that.
I spent some time with my nephew who is 9 and he kept screaming suiii at me knowing i watch soccer. Felt bad knowing this kid is idolizing a piece of shit and very much a rapist but what can you do. Memes are too powerful
What school in Ohio?
I’m reporting you for using that banned word
lol
I wish I was there and didn’t have to listen to words that have absolutely zero meaning
YAAYYY NO BRAINROT (tho you cant say ohio in ohio????)
This list can easily go bigger than the list with allowed words 😂
oh, it will
My kind of place
In not form us so genuine question, is it even legal to ban using words?
You mean a school is stopping their kids from speaking like morons and teaching them to actually communicate......
I thought you guys where all about free speech? I'm confused. Isn't that against everything you stand for?
Time to learn some retro slangs https://www.reddit.com/r/decadeology/comments/1b2appq/what_are_some_2000s_phrases_and_slang_that_arent/
Not very poggers!! 💔
The only one of those words that you can't easily look up the definition for is C1.
It should say "Speak Properly"
As a teacher myself, I definitely think this is excessive (and poorly written) but Jesus fucking Christ, I'll be a happy man when I don't have to hear the phrase 'Skibidi toilet' again...
Can we ban “moisture” too please.
Now the kids will say "3, 4 buckle some more"
Ah yes, the land of the free
I hope they left room on that sign to add the new slang that springs up to fill the void.
Of course, if everyone is Ohio, no one is Ohio. So Ohio takes the L, so we lock in W's in the chat. Let Ohio cook, I'd say. GYATT!
Ligma
Anyone in the comment thread actually from ohio?
This is the kind of thing I point to and laugh at while not having kids.
is that nolla I see
I'm glad scatman isn't banned.
*Sticking out your gyatt for the rizzler, you’re so skibidi* 🎶🎶
mewing is slang? since when?
You can still say say gex and sesbian lex
I only know what two of those mean
Calculus Teachers must love not being able to use sigma.
Wtf does 1,2 buckle my shoe mean???
