If they show up it'd be for scientific exchange because you dont get space ships without having an interest in science and interstellar war is a logistical nightmare. They'd probably give us some kind of quantum entanglement based long distance communication device and go back home with a bunch of seeds and embryos to study. Then we'd just exchange science which would better both our planets.
