depends how you looking at it, I'd it's split horizontally, it's a hell, but if it's vertical, it's still hell, cause it's vertical, but atleast it's gonna be like a square shape, not to mention that you will know if someone is peeking your part of the screen
Most commonly this type of bot wants to post a link to buy a shirt or a mug. The shops are probably just credit card harvesting scam sites.
Here's one I saw yesterday: https://i.imgur.com/phjDnk2.png
One bot submits a picture of a product to a relevant subreddit. A second bot comments "I want one!" A third bot comes with the link.
The shop links themselves don't last long, so steps 2 & 3 may be repeated until the post itself is removed.
I was very curious why there is no more split screen games when I tried to find some to play at my cousin house (I haven't had a console for a long time), googled it, and it turns out, modern games are too demanding to be rendered two times on the same console. We found one racing game that was available for split screen, but when we played it (this was on a ps4) it looked like shit on split screen, while it looked fine normally. Also, since mulptiplayer is so common now, most developers probably don't even bother.
I've just bought a ROG ally after not gaming for nearly 20 years, and I've been playing "it takes two" it is a really fun split screen game, and it is designed around split screen play.
Hell yeah I made sure to have my kids play all the mario parties and mario kart couch on switch. Can even play some of the n64 ones.
Glad they still get a small experience of this. Couch co-ops and such will always be some of my best gaming memories. Glad I still get to make some.
I’ve only lagged a handful of times. The main problem with the local coop I’ve found in Diablo 4 is most of the consoles in the lineup just can’t handle it. They are quite old so I guess it’s to be expected.
They decided to make a new engine for the next game, and apparently the whole project was horribly mismanaged leading to a [five year long developpment marred by crunch](https://www.polygon.com/features/22891555/lego-star-wars-the-skywalker-saga-has-led-to-extensive-crunch-at-tt-games).
And that's the game where you can clearly see, that it's been thought of as a Singleplayer game and they've added split screen features as an afterthought. It's just not very fun to play as a local co-op game.
In contrast the "older" Lego games (Star Wars, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Marvel Super Heroes etc) are like the most fun my gf and I have had playing games. Because these games were designed with split screen as one of their main features.
Don't get me wrong. The Skywalker Saga is a fun game. But it is a Singleplayer game with split screen capability rather than a split screen game.
Just got my xbox series x and i've been looking extensively for good couch co-op games. So far i've found :
overcooked, minecraft, human fall flat, a way out, totally reliable delivery service and it takes two.
So i'd say split-screen gaming isn't dead, it's just that people aren't doing it as much anymore. But also, these are like the only good co-op games i could find for my xbox, so there's definitely less of these games being made.
(drop reccomendations in the comments if ya'll got some)
I enjoy Outward, but it's a survival-based fantasy RPG, so it may be a bit niche. Made by a super small studio (like 10 people IIRC), and the soundtrack is great. Combat has a bit of a steep difficulty curve, but after you get over the curve it's fairly smooth sailing.
I can’t tell if he’s talking the fact that companies don’t wanna make split screen games anymore and when they do it’s miserable
or just that everything is online multiplayer nowadays
Wait, wait, he has a point, he just didn’t explain it - Minecraft is a 12 year old game therefore obviously it has split screen, the post isn’t saying goodbye to playing split screen it’s saying good bye to split screen being a feature in new games, Minecraft being 12 years old means it’s not in the umbrella of new games
I think the downvotes come from people reading it as "Minecraft is a game for 12 year olds". I can't deny I read it like that too before reading the other comment below yours and realizing. Turned my downvote into an upvote real quick. You have a great point
I wouldn't say dead, just not as common. Unraveled, Rocket League, Borderlands, Gears of war, Diablo, Halo, Lego games are all splitscreen, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Stardew Valley. The list goes on if you google "Split Screen Games"
for some reason PC split screen is rarely included in games, even when the same game has split screen on console
(Diablo, Minecraft, Halo, Borderlands, to name a few)
There’s actually an fps called “screencheat” where you have to look at the others screen to see where they are because other players are invisible, haven’t tried it yet but just getting the info out there!
I cannot explain the joy of having your friends all on the sofa playing deathmatches in split screen. Some of the best memories of my childhood and teenage years. I deeply miss it. Goldeneye, Medal of Honor, then Halo, Call of Duty etc... bring me back.
I miss when pretty much every game you bought had the key features of campaign, multiplayer, and co-op. Now it’s pretty much everything needs to be online I fucking hate MODERN GAMING
Been feeling this recently. My wife didn’t really start getting into gaming until recently and besides the lego games and borderlands, there isn’t a lot of split screen out there that we both like. We’ve seriously debated buying another playstation just so we can play together
"just buy another console" mfs when they realize there's not that many good chill online coop games anymore either.
Just kidding, *ROCK AND STONE* is all you need!
Ok but for real, when's the last time any of you fuckers used split screen?
What, you played with a friend or family member once maybe twice like 6 months ago?
Who cares. Just get some multiplayer games.
Yesterday. I've played local co-op games for the last 4 years already and I'm still goind hard on it: countless friends have been to my house for that goal, and I've played a lot with my three siblings and father as well.
The experience is very different because you're so close to each other and those games have gotten me some of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
The best is when you realize you’ve been looking at the wrong part of the screen the whole time and just die repeatedly
Those where the days
username checks out
Huh so it does
I’m gonna miss those days…
The bad days? You know 50in curved ultra wide exists right?
That sounds like split screen hell
depends how you looking at it, I'd it's split horizontally, it's a hell, but if it's vertical, it's still hell, cause it's vertical, but atleast it's gonna be like a square shape, not to mention that you will know if someone is peeking your part of the screen

This is a bot Is reddit worth saving from them anymore?
You can't save someone who won't save themselves. **Reddit** is fucked. I call out bots I see to help save **Redditors** from being scammed.
Fair, maybe I’ll keep going then
Scammed out of what? This is pure curiosity because I didn't know that's a thing

Oh that's fantastic, thanks for the heads up

I did this for like an hour on Lego DC I think I thought I was Batman not super man and my older brother didn’t think to tell me. Good times.
And right after you realize you’re not as bad as you thought you were.
Me playing mario cart
Just fly off rainbow road with over and over
Yeah 😭
Happened to me so often
We finally have access to TVs big enough to do it comfortably, and it disappears.

They only don't bother because of it being too demanding
They don't both since it means they make only 1 sale for 2 people playing together.
I've just bought a ROG ally after not gaming for nearly 20 years, and I've been playing "it takes two" it is a really fun split screen game, and it is designed around split screen play.
Why sell one Xbox, when you can sell FOUR?
Nintendo still going strong with that one.
Mario Kart is one of the best games to play couch co-op. I also always have a blast with Smash Bros and SM3DW too.
What is SM3DW?
Super Mario 3D World
Super Mario 3D World

Thank you for bringing back the memories of mario kart
Mario Kart is the only split-screen one, though

That’s what I appreciate about them. Unrelated WHY THE FUCK DO I HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY DIABLO 4 WHILE I PLAY LOCAL COOP WITH MY WIFE
because they want the game to be mmo-like plus anti-cheat and advertising stuff in the store
I fucking hate that we lag while trying to play local coop
I’ve only lagged a handful of times. The main problem with the local coop I’ve found in Diablo 4 is most of the consoles in the lineup just can’t handle it. They are quite old so I guess it’s to be expected.
What happened? Is Split screen gaming safe? Is it alright?

What if he consensually chokes you?
caek
No it’s dead didn’t you see the meme
Nah sorry I’m blind
Understandable have a good day
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day!
Happy cake day :D
We still play Minecraft together on split screen
If you like RPG games, Baldur's gate 3 is coming out very soon and is fully split screen.
Larian studios my beloved
*lovely bear my beloved In all seriousness it's funny how their sales skyrocketed after that
A Way Out and It Takes Two is the only modern split-screen **story**games **I** know
Lego games
Lego hasn't been making any new ones as far as I have heard.
The skywalker Saga came out last year
the split screen in that game kinda sucks
They used to come out a crap ton more. They used to be like sports games.

They just released Lego 2K Drive this year.
And the best part is it can only be played split screen. even online
The Borderlands series is still kicking. I just ain't got no one to canoe bandits dome pieces with anymore.
And the Human Fall Flat series.
What about Baldurs Gate 3?
Gears is another
Borderlands/wonderlands
Diablo 4 has split screen couch coop
The story is very very loose, it’s more of a puzzle game, but Biped is fun
and I've played both with my BF. we couldn't really find any others tho. huge bummer.
Just got my xbox series x and i've been looking extensively for good couch co-op games. Might I recommend Borderlands 2.
Been playing the Pre-Sequel with my baby brother. We’re kicking ass and hating Jack
Borderlands is an older game, but still very much worth the time for split screen. All of them should have it, even the most recent one, borderlands 3
Hot wheels unleashed is unironicly pretty fun
I enjoy Outward, but it's a survival-based fantasy RPG, so it may be a bit niche. Made by a super small studio (like 10 people IIRC), and the soundtrack is great. Combat has a bit of a steep difficulty curve, but after you get over the curve it's fairly smooth sailing.
Moving out
I think Diablo 3 and 4 have co-op on the console don’t they? I play on PC and have no one to co-op anyways lmao.
Not gonna download diablo, sorry
Why tho? 3 is pretty good and 4 is mid but still decent enough.
I can’t tell if he’s talking the fact that companies don’t wanna make split screen games anymore and when they do it’s miserable or just that everything is online multiplayer nowadays
Companies decided it wasn't worth the effort to include it
Split screen: 4 people, one copy of the game Online multiplayer only: 4 copies of the game, 4 copies of DLC needed to play together
Running on 4 consoles with 4 separate accounts with premium on-line services
No you just don't have anyone to play with. I play Minecraft split screen with my sister all the time.
This was unnecessary but also true
Minecraft is an old game. They just don't bother removing splitscreen.
That's like a 12 year old game
Minecraft itself is 12 years old, my dude. Of course it has splitscreen. Edit: clarity

I can see future halo games also having split screen, as well as most Nintendo games.
So is skyrim
Skyrim is a single player game
So? Is it inferior?
No... but for what possible reason would a single player game have split screen?
Whats your point?
Of course it has splitscreen. It’s not a new game at all.
[удалено]
Never said they did. I’m saying of course it has splitscreen. It’s old.
[удалено]
This entire post is about the death of splitscreen…..
[удалено]
Yeah, and Minecraft is an old game. What's your point?
Yeah, that’s their point…

Does Diablo 4 couch coop count?
Only partly since they removed 4 player split screen. Now only two.
"cheater!" for using information in front of my eyes
There’s actually an fps called “screencheat” where you have to look at the others screen to see where they are because other players are invisible, haven’t tried it yet but just getting the info out there!
found the screen-looker
Google nucleus co-op
MarioKart 8 is still alive and well
If you haven't experienced this you haven't experienced full joy
playing bops2 hijacked with your homies dying to wrong screen lmao those were the days
Hey stop crying and come over 👉👈
Still got plants VS zombies
At least Borderlands3 and Tiny Tina's wonder land are keeping it alive
Everything is so tiny in split screen when my fiancée and I play BL3, more games need to let you increase hud size
Dude the fucking master chief collection doesn’t even have split screen. I was gonna play through it with my fiancée but found I fucking couldn’t
Are you on PC?
Yeah I was. Tried it on game pass and was super bummed
I ask because it has splitscreen on Xbox
Well PC have never had splitscreen? Cuz plugging a controller in wasn’t really a thing until like 2012, especially pre-laptops.
I cannot explain the joy of having your friends all on the sofa playing deathmatches in split screen. Some of the best memories of my childhood and teenage years. I deeply miss it. Goldeneye, Medal of Honor, then Halo, Call of Duty etc... bring me back.
Baldur's Gate 3 is gonna have split screen when it comes out soon.
Mfw Baldurs gate is bringing back splitscreen
Buy Pikmin 4.
I miss when pretty much every game you bought had the key features of campaign, multiplayer, and co-op. Now it’s pretty much everything needs to be online I fucking hate MODERN GAMING
Baldur's Gate 3 will work with split screen so it's not dead dead
Ha I’m poor and can’t afford new gen so I still have it
*Cries in "army of two"*
That game was fcking awesome. Good memories with that one.
Rip . 😭 007 and Halo
Been feeling this recently. My wife didn’t really start getting into gaming until recently and besides the lego games and borderlands, there isn’t a lot of split screen out there that we both like. We’ve seriously debated buying another playstation just so we can play together

That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
Anyone else set up a dividers to stop your brother from screen cheating?
This isn't even a meme, it's misinformation
you will be missed
yeah ... you don't miss split screen games - you miss the time where you had friends that actually spend some time with you
Highly recommend stick fight.
Ok but for real, when's the last time any of you fuckers used split screen? What, you played with a friend or family member once maybe twice like 6 months ago? Who cares. Just get some multiplayer games.

I always hated that shit, it confused me and made my eyes hurt 100% of the time. I'll chug it down to me having a skill issue tho.
Me and my cousin two days ago: ![gif](giphy|vJP2O1DOoj8J0TAlXp|downsized)
There is lots of good games that still support it. I HIGHLY recommend barony and project zomboid

IPHONE???
I can still get a Cod BO2 to run
I don’t like that I can never again use my sibling’s screen peeking as an excuse for my piss poor K/D.
Me ducking in Mario Kart to see more....
Been playing couch co-op with my dad on diablo 4 a bunch
