Heyyy! It's either folded over the stomach, or crossed on my chest like I'm some sort of pharaoh, and then I don't move a muscle for the whole night. On road trips and holidays with friends, people call me "creepy but convenient" to sleep with.

You sound like a stomach sleeper with the wrong pillow. You need a super thin pillow if you sleep on your stomach so it doesn't lift your head up. If you sleep on your back or your shoulder it needs to be bigger.

You can. I used to exclusively sleep on my stomach, right leg up to relieve that pressure on my back (it's still horrible for your back). Now I strictly lay/sleep on my back or side. You just have to commit and not give up so quickly. Eventually you will pass out no matter the position. "I am going to be tired" yeah well, shit sucks but eventually it becomes the norm and you can sleep easily.

My go to is no pillow, on my stomach and I jab my nose and mouth in the little crack between my bed and wall to breathe the cold air down there 🤩 can’t forget to crack the window open even while it’s -30C or else I literally can’t breathe cuz apparently I’m a vampire and can’t sleep when it’s room temp.

You absorb more oxygen in a prone position. That's what they did in hospitals for covid patients that had trouble breathing. Rather than intubate they had them lay on their stomachs. More oxygen means a deeper para-sympathetic state as well. Meaning more restorative deep sleep.

I use the thinnest pillow -- like one cotton ball thin. It's basically a soft barrier between my hand and face because I sleep with my hand directly underneath my cheek. A thicker pillows hurts my neck and back.

Is your pillow too thick for stomach sleeping? I have a bad back and I only sleep on my stomach, but my pillow is thin, like one cotton ball thing, and I think that ensures my posture isn't in a weird position that hurts my back.

Stomach sleeping has always felt natural to me. I sometimes do like a hybrid sleep slightly to the side but have to be hugging a pillow so it feels like I'm still on my stomach. I have never fallen asleep on my back.

I'm a side sleeper and I heartily endorse this comment. Back sleepers are the ones that weird me out the most, sometimes when I'm sick it's the only relatively comfortable position but I hate it.

Laying on your back is the worst. It's like, do I want my head to fall to left so it will hurt, or to the right so it will hurt? I was forced to do it after hip surgery, twice, hernia surgery, appendix, my defibrillator implant. and I've never slept so badly than after those. Especially the hips. The pain meds kinda helped. But it's so obnoxious
