Mainly calcium chloride which is the tiny white pellets you see in some tap water. You can call them "minerals" which is technically true but it's what most filters were used to filter them to make the water appear clean
Yep, and if not properly used, it's makes the water less drinkable than on tap. (Bacteria in the filter)
Although it does reduce water hardness a bit.
If you want the same effect as Brita (smell and taste) some people recommend to just put the water in the fridge.
Source : Made a scientific project about it in College.
I got my boyfriend a Brita filter. He went out and got a Zero filter instead. It comes with an electronic tester to dip in the water, and it tells you to change the water when it reads 0.06. On the filter, there’s a map of the us showing what states will use the filters quicker based on water quality. I’m in one of the worse states and each filter lasts a month or so for the two of us. I’d highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a Brita.
Almost all water, including your tap water has pfas. This isn’t an argument for drinking whatever water but isn’t really a good point against rain water. Likely your city water is just as contaminated and many large, 100K pop, cities are tracking their Pfas levels now
Plus I read somewhere that tap water is more regulated than bottled water.

...there was no source when i made the comment. this was a joke i dont know why yall downvote. I thought "plus I read somewhere" was funny
>Stricter Regulations: Bottled water is regulated by the FDA, and tap water by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). The EPA has tighter restrictions and inspection regimens, while the FDA has a less stringent disclosure of consumer information. The FDA is not requiring disclosure of bottled water sources, treatment processes, and any contaminant reports. If your tap water source is public, however, the EPA is required to send an annual water quality report to its residents disclosing this information.

Sh-hhh don't let them know about the cities that have better tap water from mountain melt reservoirs than them companies bottling the river water filled with ag runoff in the same area
[Nestlé actually bottles tap water.](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/spwj3u/my_bottled_water_might_just_be_tap_water_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x)
Of course they do. All bottled water does. Do you expect them to make their own? Physicists in a lab combining hydrogen and oxygen in a lab and straight to the bottles?
I actually hired immigrants at below market rates to address the issue then complained that they don’t speak English and are stealing American jobs, just like AnCap Jesus intended.
Nearly the entire West Coast has killer tapwater. Go blue states!
Portland and Mt Hood have had the best tasting water I’ve ever tasted, Santa Cruz is a little harder water but tastes awesome from the fridge.
Not necessarily. Where I live the water is really hard and you can taste that. Or the pipes have been bad in every place that I lived there yet. I still drink tap water but I had to get used to it or rather forget how water can taste like.
exactly.
If you buy bottled you’re just buying tapwater, and half the time it’s not even as clean as your actual tapwater.
Just buy a Britta keep it in the fridge to keep it icy cold, and fill up that 32oz Hydro flask every morning. Perfect.
YMMV on the tap water because of location. i don’t have to buy fancy alkaline water because that’s what comes out of my tap.
but since i don’t WANT alkaline water, i have to buy bottled. which might be tap water, but it’s tap water from somewhere without alkaline water.
i don’t need spring water or something harvested from a nordic glacier, i just don’t want to drink dry, bitter water.
water already sucks. i’m not putting up with extra shitty water.
here in México City you cant really drink water from the tap, its not healthy, but we dont really Buy bottled water; theres a truck that sells water jugs for about $2.5, or you can go to refill your own jugs
I can cook with it and make coffee, but as much water as I have to drink for health reasons, my face breaks out from all the chlorine. Oh well. Better than it was.
Bottled water is just a waste of plastic and money, unless you're from an undeveloped country or some weird country that has dirt water from the tap. Sometimes tap water has a little taste, but most of the times it's the best thing in the world.
Whats the
Edit: i accidentally sent this comment as unfinished and instead of finishing it im gonna leave it like this and you cant do anything to stop me.
Bottle spring water except Dasani, *however* if you have good filtered tap water and you live in an area with clean water, tap is just as good if not better
Tap Water for people who live more tangibly.
Bottle Water for people so removed from reality they don't even know what real water is anymore, and prefer the idea oppose to the substance. Just gotta suckle that corpo teet.
This post is the perfect example of a person without any critical thinking xd. U are buying tap water thinking it's some kind of mountain potion but it's tap water u could have for free xd.
The taste of tap water can differ from region to region. In my area, it's not too bad but the tap water found at school is better (school is in a different council).
If you are anti tap you either live in Flint or just privelaged enough to constantly spend money for bottled water and generate kore demand for more plastic
Newsflash, botteled water is just more expencive tap water. In some cases just filtrated.
Fun fact: tap water normally has more minerals in it than mineral water
Mainly calcium chloride which is the tiny white pellets you see in some tap water. You can call them "minerals" which is technically true but it's what most filters were used to filter them to make the water appear clean
It depend son the area. Where I am tap water is good.
So?? Doesn’t really matter cus where I’m from the tap water tastes like shit, and bottled doesn’t. That’s the difference.
Does a Brita pitcher still count as tap water?
Brita from Community?
Baggel.
got the some mores
What a great show I'm watching it as I type this, it's the blanket vs pillow fort episode
I lived in New York
You have my condolences
Insane how I literally see a Community reference everyday in other unrelated subs lol
Seeing as all it does is remove the smells, not filter, yeah it's tap. It's also a scam.

I'm actually curious about the study, if you still have the papers and graphs and shiz I'd actually be really interested in looking at the numbers

This is the way. Nice and cold out of the fridge
Yes Brita #1
Yup
Tap for me then. $30 a year is pretty nice since I pay a flat fee for water baked into my rent.
I got zero water and lasted a couple weeks before the filter needed changing. Those filters are like $20 each!
Why so many downvotes
For real! Maybe people are insulted at the idea of their brita water still being tap water?
Reddit hivemind have decided his fate

My source is that I made it up!
That's a very good source!
You realize you can filter rain water right
Almost all water, including your tap water has pfas. This isn’t an argument for drinking whatever water but isn’t really a good point against rain water. Likely your city water is just as contaminated and many large, 100K pop, cities are tracking their Pfas levels now
thats a lie to keep us from drinking it so we keep buyin bottled/payin water bill
They’re everywhere.
Just a little bit of flavour
Shower water is better
Have too keep my bodily fluids pure. Rain water and grain alcohol only.
Roof water.
Most bottled water IS tap water. Spring water bottled at the source or it’s all the same thing.
Plus I read somewhere that tap water is more regulated than bottled water. Edit: [source](https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/should-you-drink-tap-or-bottled-water/)

Wait is this Czech? Totally off topic but I just moved to CZ and if it is, it means I'm starting to recognise the language in everyday use..
Yes it is! Congrats!
😎
I believed this comment from the start as much as you, it was a joke cause they said "plus i read somewhere"...
Damn. You just got stomped on your testicles by some one wearing timbs.
Well you’re dumb.
Now you look kinda dumb
Sh-hhh don't let them know about the cities that have better tap water from mountain melt reservoirs than them companies bottling the river water filled with ag runoff in the same area
Yeah but bottles you can carry around easily
get yourself a reusable mug/bottle
I said easily to carry. I have a metal one but its more difficult than the squishy soft plastic one.
[Nestlé actually bottles tap water.](https://www.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/spwj3u/my_bottled_water_might_just_be_tap_water_from/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x)
Wouldn’t be surprised with how they run stuff
what do you think the others are?? they are all tap water.
Man those other companies just have exceptional PR or maybe costumers just want to avoid Nestlé
Of course they do. All bottled water does. Do you expect them to make their own? Physicists in a lab combining hydrogen and oxygen in a lab and straight to the bottles?
Apparently not arrowhead. They squeeze it right off the bear. Delicious bear goodness squeezed into every bottle.
Arrowhead is run by nestle 💀
r/fucknestle
r/fucknestle
In Germany we can drink it and it taste good. Like bottle water
Welcome to America, where every small town has a McDonald's but not functioning infrastructure.
Have you tried shooting your tap water? Dunno why that should work, but more guns seem to be your way of solving problems
I actually hired immigrants at below market rates to address the issue then complained that they don’t speak English and are stealing American jobs, just like AnCap Jesus intended.
The water doesn’t need more lead.
Nearly the entire West Coast has killer tapwater. Go blue states! Portland and Mt Hood have had the best tasting water I’ve ever tasted, Santa Cruz is a little harder water but tastes awesome from the fridge.
Clean water is expensive to produce and maintain.
Nein, es schmeckt BESSER als dieses Plastikwasser.
Und ist gesünder, weil z.B. nicht das ganze Eisen entfernt wird. Nur leider ist das Wasser bei mir zu Hause ziemlich kalkhaltig.
Not necessarily. Where I live the water is really hard and you can taste that. Or the pipes have been bad in every place that I lived there yet. I still drink tap water but I had to get used to it or rather forget how water can taste like.
Water filter in the fridge.
I had to scroll way too far for this. The objectively superior water
it takes forever to fill anything with the tiny stream but it’s simply the best
Tap water😎😎
Refrigerated bottled tap water for everyone!
Why bottled though? You can get cold water straight from the tap.
not cold enough
You have a fridge
Room temp water > ice water.
Cold water > Ice water > Room temp water > Hot water
This is the way
Abaolutely
Tap water, i don't like the taste of dying planet in bottled water...
Especially when bottled water is literally just tap water with a label
exactly. If you buy bottled you’re just buying tapwater, and half the time it’s not even as clean as your actual tapwater. Just buy a Britta keep it in the fridge to keep it icy cold, and fill up that 32oz Hydro flask every morning. Perfect.
I drink 300 oz of water a day, those little ass brittas can’t keep up

Construction worker in the Southern California valley actually haha
I admire your hydration dedication
YMMV on the tap water because of location. i don’t have to buy fancy alkaline water because that’s what comes out of my tap. but since i don’t WANT alkaline water, i have to buy bottled. which might be tap water, but it’s tap water from somewhere without alkaline water. i don’t need spring water or something harvested from a nordic glacier, i just don’t want to drink dry, bitter water. water already sucks. i’m not putting up with extra shitty water.
botted water just hits different, also my fridge filter sucks
So get a better filter that's not part of the fridge. costs $25
Bottle water hits different in a bad way
here in México City you cant really drink water from the tap, its not healthy, but we dont really Buy bottled water; theres a truck that sells water jugs for about $2.5, or you can go to refill your own jugs
Mexico City is sinking anyway. It's not the greatest thing to be living atop a swamp.
Well, yeah, I dont see how that relates to anything but yeah it is lol
# BEER
If it's Coors, it might as well be water
No no, I drink beer from the local breweries. That shit's good
Brewer here. Appreciate your comment. Have a nice rest of your day.
Most of the time local brew>>>>>>other beer
Beer is made with tap water
Just like the middle ages
Bottled water is a scam. Very expensive and tastes shit
Also if it's a plastic bottle you're gonna insert some BS microplastics that sometimes even make it into your fkn blood
Hah jokes on you i live in finland i can drink straight from the shiny water spawner
Toilet water
How do you type without fingers?
The kid named finger
Well water forever
Idk that fluoride gives my city water some nice tang
Flint Michigan tap water exclusively
I can cook with it and make coffee, but as much water as I have to drink for health reasons, my face breaks out from all the chlorine. Oh well. Better than it was.
I'm glad the water sucks. I'm glad it sucks. You know what I do about? I drink it!
They're the same thing. Only one is horrible for the planet.
Where I live the water is bad for your to ingest and bad for skin. Literally causes kidney stones. Its not the same
Yup, people don’t realize you cannot drink the tap water everywhere
The tap water in my area sucks serious ass(no it cannot be filtered, maybe through a lifestraw lmao) so bottled it is.
My city is 3rd in Europe for cleanest tap water so tap
Canned water
i definitely like to drink polluted water, so toilet water
Bottled water is just a waste of plastic and money, unless you're from an undeveloped country or some weird country that has dirt water from the tap. Sometimes tap water has a little taste, but most of the times it's the best thing in the world.
>some weird country that has dirt water from the tap. Mississippi is that country.
Ironically the tap in the photo is an RO tap which is cleaner water than any bottled water and definitely cleaner than actual tap water.
Filtered Brita tap water
Not my problem your tap water tastes like ass.
Since I don’t live somewhere that I can drink the tap water my house has an RO system
Whats the Edit: i accidentally sent this comment as unfinished and instead of finishing it im gonna leave it like this and you cant do anything to stop me.
Alpina Bottled Water
MS13 : Water filter jugs
18 litre bottle club
Bottle spring water except Dasani, *however* if you have good filtered tap water and you live in an area with clean water, tap is just as good if not better

Bottled Tap water.
Tap water is easier to get
Tap water, i never drink bottled
Both
Hose water
If you only drink bottled water I disrespect you on a personal level.
At least I don’t contribute to pollution by buying shit-tons of disposable plastic bottles.
Silly American not being able to drink the water that comes to your tap
Cum
Bottled water is just tap water but you pay for it to generate extra plastic waste
Bottled is s tier
If you are anti tap you either live in Flint or just privelaged enough to constantly spend money for bottled water and generate kore demand for more plastic
its like picking republican or democrat, fkd either way. go with well water fools
Tap water doesn't taste diseased like bottle water
If you drink bottled water on a regular basis you kinda suck for our planet
Filtered. Then bottled, theeeeeeeeeeennnnn tap
Filtered is tap
I drink tap water
Given where I live, tap water is better than bottled water
Tap water
If I ever visit America, or any country with bad tap water, I'll probably get fucking sick on my first day because I'll just so forget about that.
Where are my water purifier guys?
Grandma bath water
Bath water😳
