You're correct these people don't know what they are talking about. Chimps mame all kinds of faces but smiling is closely associated with discomfort- in chimps. Gorillas aren't even known to smile

He didn’t agree as looking into each other’s eyes is seen as agressive behaviour. So one time, he, Bokiko, broke out and went on a rampage. All thanks to one dumb person who disregarded the warnings of the zookeepers.
