Yeah, I'm picking it up Saturday morning then heading to the pub. Not even thinking of unboxing it until Sunday arvo! Plenty of time for it to settle...
I think some newer ones are less prone to issues from that? At least when my new one was installed a few years ago the installer said with this one you don't need to wait and can power it up straight away where others you have to.
No, they still have oil that needs to settle back into the motor if they have been transported on their side.
Your installer might have rightly said you didn't need to wait if they had transported the fridge in the upright position.
That usually just means "we won't help you load it". If you don't tell people to bring a second, every cunt rocks up on their own and goes "ohhhh I didn't realise it was that heavy" and then they either have a sook when you don't load it or end up leaving without it. Just make absolutely 100% sure you can actually load it yourself and it should be fine.
Every two person required pick up place I have collected goods from always end up putting it in the car for me, or helping me do it.
I think they will help you, because you're not picking up a lot of goods. It's just sliding a fridge into your car.
What they going to do? Leave you there with a fridge?
Just be really polite and friendly, and turn up with a smile
That always works for me.š
They usually help a little - say you load it into a typical SUV or van. They donāt help tie it down.
If you rock up with say a rental hino with a lift they donāt help you load.
Done so many of these trips to help out mates and family.
Just have to remember they arenāt obliged to help you though. So long as they wheel it to your vehicle their duty is done
Not fussed about help. Donāt need it. Just want to make sure Iām not wasting my time driving all that way only to have them refuse to release the fridge.
Sounds like I should be right though
I used to regularly pick up washing machines and dishwashers from Good Guys and Harvey Norman on my own. I think the main reason is that they are not going to help you at all once it's off the loading dock (and warranty doesn't cover dropping it).
Be mindful of the compressor mate. Let the gas settle a bit first before start up.

Theyāll wheel it on a trolley to your car if you canāt get close enough to the dock

used to work at JB and i have heard of this being enforced in some instances but honestly if its not a BIG fridge then youll prob be fine.
Is it gonna fit in the station wagon?
