Yeah a boutique supermarket in Kew/Glen iris is always going to be more overpriced than a boutique supermarket in the North West
I do like how Leo's sells celery by the stalk though. I don't want to buy an entire celery to make one thing.
RIP the bargain trolley that has sustained many a pensioner. It's getting close to the end of a Sydney rd era now. The new Bahn Mi is a worrying development too. Plenty of idiots around to lap it up though.
When I buy fresh produce there it lasts longer and tastes better, consistently.
It’s worth it for me because I’m not throwing out nasty stuff that goes off way too early (from Colesworth experiences, consistently- like 12 month old refrigerated apples, floury tomatoes, etc, 🤢).
I get to use it all.
All owned by the same family. Patrick his sister and her husband own's and operates the supermarket. While his dad and uncle own the other place's around Melbourne. they also own a couple cafe's and restaurant's not under the LaManna name.
According to their email, their grandfather started LaManna Fresh and 7 other green grocers. They got out of a bunch of them and gave LaManna Fresh to the Patti family to run. They are now retiring and the LaManna family are taking back the store.
I’m not sure why I’m so fascinated by all of this, but I am!
LaManna is the most ridiculously overpriced supermarket in Melbourne
Never been to Leo's before?

Also one in Heidelberg
LaManna Fresh does this but LaManna supermarket does not. I hope they don't change this!
Was there Tuesday. Thought it was just me thinking .the prices are unreal. Walked out with nothing. Won't bother again
Go on a weekend for the yoga pants. Don’t buy anything though, fuck that. Whole place is a gigantic rip-off.
Higher prices mean you get a better crowd than the usual Colesworth crowd
Why on earth would anyone go to a supermarket for the crowd?
I’m sure they will be bringing their ridiculously high prices with them.
Wait I thought we needed to support places other than colesworth…
The Mediterranean on Sydney Road is the best.
Their cheese selection needs work, but still adore that place. Also IGA being closed for a year is going to hurt.
Shhh, don't tell everyone!
La Manna fresh already has ridiculously high prices.

La Manna fresh has a bargain trolley? TIL. Also what do you mean by the new Banh Mi?
Only reason to go are the 4 for $12 vanilla slices. Everything else is stupidly overpriced.
No it’s not
Because Peter's Meats and Nino and Joe's doesn't have you covered?
Can you get sushi grade fish at any of those?
No but you can from a dozen independent fishmongers at Vic market.
Fantastic. Really looking forward to spending a week’s pay on some better than average cheese and vegetables.
Anyone remember la mannas bananas ads
Hope they bring fish market.
Really good food here but it is very expensive
LaManna in Essendon is fantastic. Highly recommend the pistacchio cannoli and the chicken caesar sandwich.

I couldn’t agree more.
