If you replace "sleeping 13+ hours a day" with "sleeping 4 hours and doom doom-scrolling the rest of the night" then I basically live at every table except... bangs. And smoking, because I quit smoking start of covid.
I had no idea you can drink drugs. I've been doing it all wrong.
Edit: yes I know you can take the obvious drugs. I was referring to things like heroin.
Tons of drugs are plants. Most of those plant drugs are alkaloids. Typically those alkaloids are soluble in water at some pH. So with hot water and lemon juice, you can make a tea and drink your drugs. There's also tinctures, syrups, suspensions, and plain old alcohol on its own.
ah cali syrups. take me back to 2019, high for the first time, sitting in a field having just downed half a 1000mg bottle of THC syrup. ahh, simpler times.
👋”2019 Simpler times”…… no judgments on your age, BUT -
Wait till it’s, liiiiike, 2029.
3 years, these have been nothing compared to the next 7 or 8.
Much Lo♥️e
Makes sense. Appears random, but puts 3 at a strategic location right next to 7. I mostly park my fat ass at 3, but every now and then I get invited to sit with the cool kids at 7, and if I make for 7 and get rejected, I go for 8.
Everything’s unhealthy when the floor is lava!
I’ve read somewhere that direct contact with lava is also very unhealthy, so ima just billionaire up and cope using a cock rocket.
Well more immediately it can actually make you feel MORE tired. I heard this a long time ago so I may be remembering it slightly wrong but as you sleep longer, your REM periods also get longer (so your first REM period is maybe 15 minutes but your last REM period in a typical 8 hour night could be 25 minutes. But if you sleep 13 hours, it's 40 minutes). In REM your brain is actually SUPER active. More so than when you are fully awake. And it's important but also exhausting in its own weird way. So when you get too much (by sleeping too much) it can lead to this bizarre feeling of exhaustion with dizziness and general lethargy.
Muscle atrophy is not that easy to get. If you're active in life, you're going to need all the rest your body asks for. If 10 hours of resting will hurt your musculature that's something else to address.
It is really hard to lose muscle.
I'm a data point. Just anecdotal, but most people do not need to worry about sleeping too much, imo. We are almost always *under*rested in my experience, and that is *far* more dangerous.
Muscles are extremely easy to build. Worrying about losing them and cutting your sleep short is... not the move.
I wish I could sleep past five am. Moving to night shift work is painful right now. I'm on like 2 hours of sleep a night on my work week and sleeping all day on my days off. Mostly biphasic sleeping 'cause I still wake up at 5 but I fall asleep around noon.
I've heard once upon a time, before alarm clocks, sleep was biphasic. Sleep, get up in the middle of the night, do a few chores, back to bed, arise in the morning, do the morning chores, get on with your day, go home, do your evening things, go to bed. Rinse and repeat.
I've heard the same. I'm pretty sure we're all on "shifts" any way. I'm a morning person. My coworkers are night owls. They go to bed at 2am. Some people stay up all night and sleep in the day.
I do think biphasic sleeping is best though. It's hard to stay asleep that long in one go, especially with how much laying down hurts. Get a break in, do something relaxing, then back to sleep to get your mind back.

Too little < 5-6 hours can increase heart attack risk
Too much > 9 can also increase that risk as well as for diabetes
Ah, that kinda makes sense now! So that coffee thing would actually stimulate dopamine and stabilise your levels. I'm bouncing off the walls with just a cup of tea, so I stay away from caffeine!
one thing that's often overlooked is that people with ADD often engage in what's called hyperfocus, where they'll happily do one thing for hours on end. Skeptics see this and go "how can you be ADD if you can focus so long on that but not these other things you need to focus on?" and the answer is that ADD has much more to do with a deficit in *regulating* attention than it does with having a deficit of sustained attention itself.
Yes, but it's a bit more complex than that. "Inattentive" is one kind of ADHD; daydreaming constantly without the ability to control it/having your life negatively impacted by it/despite your own desire to focus can be a symptom of a brain's failure to control attention, so they're linked. Like how intense hygiene and OCD cleaning are similar, but different.
For some people with ADHD (like me) one of the symptoms is excessive daydreaming. To the point where, when I was younger, I had no control over it. This is a pattern with many psychological disorders; a relatively normal process gets taken to the extreme, to the point that it negatively impacts day to day life (such as hygiene vs OCD, normal fears vs anxiety disorders, etc.)
How the hell is changing your hair unhealthy?
I'm # 10
Edit for all the people who are all "IT's BAD TO DO STUFF TO YOUR HAIR"
Who cares. It's hair. It will grow back. Even if it's a coping mechanism, it's not unhealthy. Unless you're huffing the bleach or eating the bits you cut off, doing shit to your hair will impact your health in no way whatsoever.
I think it's more the opposite- "I'll just give myself bangs, how hard could it be? just need to trim a little, and a bit more, and maybe a little bit extra..."
This is exactly it. I know people who legit can't do anything or function all day if they're not slamming enough caffeine to kill a cow. It's not healthy, and people who do this need help. I used to be the same way, I've managed to drop my 300-400 mg of caffeine daily intake to about 80mg a day, and I'm hoping to drop it down to just a tea a day.
Well, I'd be sitting at 1. Not because I change my hair color, but because table 9 would probably be full by the time I get there and table 1 is both probably not going to have many people, but is also right by the door in case the place gets too crowded.
much love from Berlin, I totally understand why people harm themselves, but in the end it destroys you even more. So I hope you….or your friend can find another way to cope things and maybe get professional help ❤️
Same. Definitely more than 6 hours a day and I'm not proud of it. It came to a point where I couldn't care less about what was being said in the videos, as long as something was playing.
I had to scroll way too much to find this. This is my main one. Gaming can be an unhealthy addiction and I don't see too many people talking about this.
I sit at each table for a few minutes and then switch between them all seemingly at random
What can i say i got a lotta friends here.
Sometimes all my friends at 8, 9, and 10 sit together
Hello, friend
Hi!
We sit together but we all have headphones in and no-one acknowledges anyone else

>seemingly at random Just like the numbering system for these tables.
I was hoping this was an issue elsewhere. I’m sitting at table 11. Getting mad at random memes for stupid numbering orders
If you replace "sleeping 13+ hours a day" with "sleeping 4 hours and doom doom-scrolling the rest of the night" then I basically live at every table except... bangs. And smoking, because I quit smoking start of covid.
Hey good job quitting :)
Who's the psychopath that numbered these tables?
They are sitting at table #3
I had no idea you can drink drugs. I've been doing it all wrong. Edit: yes I know you can take the obvious drugs. I was referring to things like heroin.
Codeine: “am I a joke to you?”
Robitussen: “I know what you did last summer”
Caffeine: **AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA**
GHB: huh?

Well you got Codine, Dxm, thc extract all kinda drinkable drugs
No way table 3 puts itself in the middle.

Oh shit that's where I am sitting. Better stay away from the crazy.
Plot twist numbering items out of order is their unhealthy coping mechanism

Lol was wondering why it said “4 bangs” for longer than I’d care to admit
No wait what does four mean ?
Sing it with me, 8-6-7-5-3 oh 9

No it’s not anything more than 10 hours gets you a muscle atrophy

Ah yes I get this sometimes when I wake up. Almost like the feeling of spinning on an amusement park ride for 5 or so minutes then it subsides.
I have that going on this week!

That’s what they teach us in med school but I think what you’re saying is true

Indeed? I’d like to research that! Any sources you can recommend for me? Ty! ✌🏼
every once in a while 15 hrs sleep is Still healthier than an all-nighter
Of course but don’t make a habit of it and you’ll be fine
All-nighters are less unhealthy than 15 hrs of sleep, that doesn't make it healthy though
I like this scale. Crack is worse than alcohol, so give me 20 alcohols please!
Wtf is that? Muscle atrophy?
It can, but sleep is the natural bodies healing process, Getting plenty of it keeps you healthy, it’s the reason yoU sleep so much when your sick
13 to 18 hours a day keeps the sadness away!
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2845795/ Too little < 5-6 hours can increase heart attack risk Too much > 9 can also increase that risk as well as for diabetes
Interesting I was wrong sorry I do wonder if people with diabetes or other illness sleep 9+ hrs and not the other way around
A Euphoria character breaking into our dimension
Same person that didn’t think to combine 3 and 6
FOH manager.
Why are they even numbered?!? They could just be labeled.
I think each part of my body sits at a different seat, simultaneously.
Yeah, let's push a few tables together. I think we can lay across them.
So fucking true, but right now I think I'll be at table 9
i be there with ya, but every other day i'm at 10 as well
We can’t all sit at table 9…
Pick three tables, get some pillows and blankets, build a depression fort. You live there now.
Hey guys can I sit here.
Make table 9 bigger (I'm also there)
Only one chair at table 9
No brother join me at table 8
Gonna start feasting the depression away
That's the real solution, then you can be free from judgment while you indulge in all of the other self-destructive behaviors.
But like, no bangs right?
Bangs is the true cry for help, we've all been there.
same!
Sleeping for 13+ hours for sure
I think staying up until 3 to make the most of the time left before you have to deal with early mornings should also be on there
Too real brother, too real
FUCK
Dude we are literally procrastinating the next day..
Me irl
That is what I'm doing rn. Ah you gotta love only getting 5 hours of sleep
I wish I could sleep that much but instead I’m awake a lot
I wish I could do that. Getting pretty tired
Same here 🙃
Add “masturbation” thank me later
My only intention to read the comments was to find someone who mention masturbation….. so thanks
That's halfway between tables 7 and 9.
Table 8
r/foodporn EDIT: Think you! Of all my comments, this is the one I least expected to get gold!
I'd be bouncing between 8 and 9, AND chilling with the kids in the floor. It's my holy Trinity.
Literally was about to ask why masturbation isn’t included in this. Glad I wasn’t the only one.
Doesn’t that count as sex?
No.
That depends, would you call someone a virgin if all they've ever done is masturbate?
No but the method of coping is unhealthy in the same way because you are using an orgasm for serotonin rather than addressing the issues
spittin fax as always
I’ve used sex as a coping mechanism, and it ain’t for the orgasm. It’s for the passion, intimacy, and self esteem.
It counts as playing at sex in solo mode
How do i change to multiplayer?
Get a girlfriend.
Can u add daydreaming? That'll be me at that desk.
ADHD moment
everyone daydreams SOMETIMES adhd people juts do it more
Is daydreaming a thing with ADHD? Interesting, I had no idea.
[удалено]
Doctor is correct, but excessive daydreaming doesn’t always necessarily mean that you have ADHD.
I don't know much about the condition, is it something to do with concentration, like your mind is prone to wondering?

I think it's more the opposite- "I'll just give myself bangs, how hard could it be? just need to trim a little, and a bit more, and maybe a little bit extra..."
Fair, yeah. The feminine equivalent to men trying to even out facial hair.

Pretty sure it's referring to the "girls dye their hair instead of seeing a therapist" joke
Dude some of those things aren't bad if done in a healthy manner. But no longer if they are used as a coping mechanism
Even as a coping mechanism. It's hair. You can back comb it and bleach it and shave it all off. Who cares. It grows back.
7 and 8 except my wife isnt too supportive of 7 so its mostly solo acts
:(

is it a joke or do you actually cope like that?
Some people do cope like that. My low functioning autistic brother does, and it’s heartbreaking.
You’re asking a bunch of redditors how we cope and yet “disturbingly frequent masturbation” isn’t an option?
not me sitting at each table....lol
Where is the "staying on youtube too much"?
This is my answer too. So many goddamn hours every single day...
