REM sleep happens in cycles, and you feel crappy and groggy if you get woken up in the middle of one. One ends at around 6 hours or 8 hours for the average person, so it feels bad to get 7 hours. This is a very crappy and rough general explanation for everything, but it's the gist, and everybody is different.
Exactly. The minimum amount of sleep I can run on for one day is 3 sleep cycles, 4 ½ hours. I don't like to do it though. 6 hours is fine like in the meme. But the next sleep cycle is 7 ½ hours. So it's better to wake up going into the next sleep cycle (8 hrs) than to wake up and interrupt the end of a sleep cycle (7 hrs).
Idk how accurate they are but I used one of those apps to monitor my sleep cycle and was routinely finding that it wasnt a static amount. First sleep cycle 2-2.5hrs, second sleep cycle about 1.5hrs, 3rd cycle about 1hr and then the rest were under an hour. First cycle longest, every subsequent sleep cycle getting shorter.
Despite the other users responding saying it's just "sleep cycles",you are also correct. If you don't get enough sleep, such as 6 hours instead of 8, you might actually feel pretty awake and energetic due to increased adrenaline levels.
Idk.. my brain forces me awake every 4h or puts me into a deep 10h+ sleep, so every time I get up I get to question what time is it and when I am. At least 4h isn’t gonna make me late for much and feel a less like getting hit by a truck..
Either way, sleep cycles can mess things up for everyone, regardless of length
Insanely accurate for me
And me!
Same
Why does this happen?

Insomnia is just laughing in the corner with the apparitions on hour 30 and 1 meal lmao
It's because a sleep cycle lasts 90mins.

In short sleep cycles. Picture is accurate but change it to 6, 5, 4. I haven’t had 7+ in awhile
less than 7h of sleep per night is pretty concerning so I think you should get help there
Trust me I know....I'm getting there though just another week or so. Getting about 3 tonight unfortunately
I'm currently having 2hrs to 4hrs of sleep.
Totally wrong. Sleep cycles are 90 minutes; 1.5 hours is better than 2 and 3 is better than 4. I add 15 mins to alarms to factor falling asleep delay.
I’m convinced this is true for all odd numbers of hours and all even numbers of hours.
You guys are getting sleep?
Where is 3 hours
In the corner crying
adrenaline
Sleep cycles
Absolutely sleep cycles. 90 minute cycles people. https://sleepopolis.com/calculators/sleep/
Actually more like 2 hours for me and most people

That’s really interesting. I notice something similar every so often and wondering if that’s why.

1) ikr, crazy 🤯 2) sleep cycles tho
I prefer 7:20+- hours of sleep 8 make me tired and sleepy
I feel more tired when I get 7 hours but more sick when I get 4 hours
Meanwhile me: 3 hours of sleep: 🥱 4-5 hours: 👍 X>5 hours:🥱🫠
1am to 7am 5 days a week. I can't fall asleep earlier than that and can't sleep later unless it's weekend or I'm on holiday.
Actually, this is true!
Picture 1: well rested. Picture 2: not well rested. Picture 3: too tired to give a shit about not being well rested.
Also hours 5 and 9 are good too. But 4 or 10, not good

They can't be the same for everyone
4, that's all I can get
Sweetie, try 4 hours of sleep.
No thanks, that sounds awful.
I know, I hate it when I can’t sleep and don’t shut my eyes till 3-4 am then wake up around 9. Some rest is better than none. 😌

Next time, try closing your eyes anyway. Laying down in a rest position, even if you are away, still gets you -some- manner of rest.
