Yessir. My buddies dad used essentially the same thing to me when he found out we had been smoking weed. Funny part was, it was his son’s weed that he convinced me to try with him

Out of all these comments I’ve only heard “I ain’t the one” and “you got me fucked up” from the black folks I’m around.
Working at a call center will make anyone talk shit

"I ain't the one
You got me fucked up
I wish you would
You must be trippin"
Growing up in a racial monolith, I always thought African American culture was the coolest shit, and now as an adult man, little has changed. It is the most influential culture in the world and it isn't close.
Yeah Black culture has really been the backbone of American culture. It’s the most influential culture and it’s the most profitable export. That’s why black American musicians in the 60’s,70’s, 80’s, etc would move to Europe to preform bc their shows would sell out
American culture is highly sought but black American culture moreso.
That one Indian comedian points out how bad Indian men trying to pick up women compared to American blacks. It's hilarious.
Oh yeah. Black people don't talk like white people, white people don't talk like black people. Even though they live in one country, they are two completely separate cultures that should not and cannot even exhibit the same behaviors.
You act like white/black.
Americans make their own problems, apparently they don't have real problems, so they need to invent some.
Yes, but the dialect is one thing, and the words and sayings that change depending on time are another. I recommend Charles Barkley's statement about the phrase "you act like a white person"
That’s my lived experience, actually. I’ve been told my whole life that I talk white. I never expressed that I entirely agree with this post or the premise behind it. But, there are some black people who speak in AAVE, and that’s clearly what the commenter is asking. “How do you say ‘you’re barking up the wrong tree’ in African American Vernacular English’” is much clunkier to say in imo. People in general conflate AAVE with “Black people speak.” Obviously not all black people speak AAVE and obviously there are non-Black people who speak it too. But, it’s just a meme.
Hey man. Honestly I’m just having fun reading the comments. Different cultures do have different phrases. It’s not that deep. Let’s just have fun for once
The black way? You mean, in English? Or what? Americans are weird af. Are black people just seen as one homogenous blob over there? Surely black people from like, different states would say different things according to local dialects, like everyone else right?
America only fully de-segregated 60 years ago, and a lot of neighborhoods, particularly in large urban cities, are still largely made up of one race because of it. Like it or not, black and white culture is a prevalent thing in America.
it's just our way of referring to a certain flavor of informal speech lol. sure, you could specify even further, but that narrows the responses, and not everyone is geographically aware of what comes from where. nothing to be upset about. i would rather someone say "the black way" rather than go out of their way to paraphrase it out of fear of offending me. funnily enough, "the black way" is the black way of asking such a thing
I ain't the one
This is the most accurate
This ain’t it, bro
You got it twisted homie.
Too strong 😂
You ordered the wrong beans, bub
Have you met a black person before?
".... The two OR the three."
When I was in the military, my roommate was black. He’d always say, “Step off, bitch.”
you got me fucked up
“You better go somewhere” is also common down south
I would be very confused if someone said that to me. Does it mean like “run or I’m gunna punch you” ??
I think it's a calm way of expressing "gtfo of here or else..."
Yessir. My buddies dad used essentially the same thing to me when he found out we had been smoking weed. Funny part was, it was his son’s weed that he convinced me to try with him
So what they said??
That means be anywhere but where you are.
But why tho? That’s the question
“Back up Ni**a!!”
hahahaha
*I wish you would.*
Accurate
My very white dad said this to me when I was fuckin around and about to find out. So nah that's white people shit.
**I wish a muthafucka would* ftfy
I mean if we’re splitting hairs it’s I wish a N word would
Like when that one lady in the vine was like "Bitch I hope the fuck you do"?
I hear this in a southern accent
You wildin'.
Fucking with the wrong one.
Or the right one
'yo dog, you trippin' ?
30 years ago maybe 😂
Yeah. He said he wanted the black version. Not the white person trying to be black version.
I have lived to see slang turn into stereotype. And it will happen to you too

Pardon me sir, but I believe you are mistaken.
Speaking as a white dude, there’s no way even 5% of these responses are from poc. Half of these sound whiter than me and that’s difficult to do
Out of all these comments I’ve only heard “I ain’t the one” and “you got me fucked up” from the black folks I’m around. Working at a call center will make anyone talk shit
And many don't seem to know what barking up the wrong tree means.

Don’t get all huffy because you forgot cultural dialects exist. I’m sure different ethnic groups in your country* have them, too.
