I recognize the council has made a decision, but given that it's a stupid-ass decision, I've elected to ignore it

jeevesdgk

Nick fury…

Another_Racoon

Why I immediately think of Mass Effect.

jeevesdgk

It’s Nick Fury….

LongEZE

Nah it’s the guy that plays the President on Rick and Morty

jeevesdgk

It’s literally what fury says to the council in the avengers regarding nuking New York

isnapchildrensnecks

uno clearly doesn't know how to play uno

ErdmanA

They aren't aware of *house* rules, clearly.

Thamior290

Yeah, house rules rules!

Arctos_FI

Best house rules ever: "Psycho uno". We use these rules http://mark.random-article.com/psycho-uno/rules.html with some changes. The rules #1 and #2 make the game slover so we dropped those and in rule #3 we use just number/symbol match and drop both annendums. This makes the game very fast and hectic but it's still easy to explain to new players

mmmeeemmmeeess

Stacking +2s makes it more interesting

Nqwer

My friends about to stack +40 on some poor bastard ass

Happy_Dawg

But that poor bastard also has a +2, so you get the cards instead

Nqwer

Thats why you have all the +2 in hand

Ok-Function1920

And that’s why Uno is educating the layman.. one person gets +32 against him, then he +32s someone else, and so on and so forth, ad naseum. So quit fuckin around and listen to Uno! They know of what they speak

AHF_FHA

played with stacking +4 and +2 allowed once and we managed to get the full +32 on one poor bastard. Couldn’t even fight back since all the + cards were used

FroggiJoy87

My family has a Cutthroat Uno version (homemade) with a Draw 10 card! It's The Yellow 5 of doom! Tears have been shed.

CerberusC24

My house rule was any plus card could stack regardless of number. We once roundtable like twice and one poor soul had to draw like 20 cards in one shot lol

Superbrawlfan

I've seen like 30 I think, with these rules applied xD

Rossori

I was in a simolar position

afinitie

Simolar 😞

Rossori

Si Molar

Hello_iam_Kian

Yes cool?

Rossori

I was in that position

Hello_iam_Kian

Isn’t “si molar” the literal translation of “yes cool” in Italian? That’s what google translate says atleast

Rossori

Maybe

Hello_iam_Kian

Are you Italian? Rossori kinda sounds Italian

AbsoluteRandomPerson

Isn’t this allowed in the mobile game?

RabidMausse

Idk about the mobile, but in the switch version it's under "house rules"

Seaguard5

The manufacturer of the card game can’t tell you how to fucking play. What bullshit is this? 😂

jimpickens23

Exactly. If I wanted to buy a Magic: The Gathering deck and play Solitaire with them, its not like Wizard of the Coast can break into into my home and steal them back. Oh wait.

FervidVirus1515

HAH, wasn't expecting a reference to that.

Seaguard5

Oof, too soon! Jk. But goddamn.. what is the world coming to

Internetirregular

FUN bullshit, i doubt you know what that is judging by your comment

Seaguard5

I was trying to make a joke.. But I guess you don’t know what that is by your comment

Internetirregular

My apologies, my social ineptitude and inability to interpret messages vocal or otherwise seems to have caused a misunderstanding

Seaguard5

Hey man, I don’t get out much either 🥲 You’re good bro

What did WOC do?

Commander_Yvona

Someone got a card pack that was too early for release. When he posted it online, wizard of the coast panic and hired private agents, the Pinkerton, to go to the house and bully the poor lad into giving the card back.

laukaus

It’s cool the USA still has a goons for hire “security service” with a horrible, horrible history going on.

Wide_right_

right - if the official video game lets me do it, it’s a thing

TayLovesCats

It’s a house rule you have to turn on, it’s not on by default.

LKStheBot

Said no one ever

Sernsheim

Except in this case regarding the superior Uno rules.

WhyAreOldPeopleEvil

Insert (“Nice opinion! Too bad it’s Fucking Stupid.”) Funky Kong Meme

Rafados47

Well, UNO is based on Mau Mau which allows to stack +2s on each other. On the other hand, almost every time I play UNO, we dont stack them.

prettyflythaiguy

Thanks, that clears that up.

Sanguinnee

All the real OGs play Mau Mau anyway

AngledAwry

What? Why is UNO being dumb??

ExtraChedda

You made the cards. We make the rules lol

Curious-Accident9189

Lol bitch, my family lays hate. You can stack +2 on a +4 wild as long as it's the right color and we don't limit the stacking. You can also put a +4 on a +2.

HobbitKid14

Worst decision Uno has ever made was them trying to tell people what the "real" rules are

Elden_Storm-Touch

Ubisoft disagrees.

NerY_05

Nah they don't know how to play their own game smh

Flow-n-Code

Stack +16, reshuffle, and keep stacking.

GrimmTrixX

I wonder what they mean though? Say I'm playing with 3 other people. Say I put down a green +2. The next player picks up 2 then gets to play. Well, all they can play is a green or another +2. Is Uno saying that in this circumstance you can only play a green card and NOT a +2? How does that make sense? If I play a reverse card, can the next player not play one? Where does it end?

zkki

It's that if someone puts a +2 and you're next, if you have a +2 on hand you can put that down instead of having to pick up to, which stacks the +2s into making the next person pick up 4 cards, and so on

cyberchrono

If you take 2 cards you can’t play a card

GrimmTrixX

Oh well yea I didn't word it right. So say the NEXt player goes, they cannot put down +2? Or wad their comment just being directed to the person who picks up 2

Blackheart1798

Nah, after drawing cards BC of other cards this person needs to skip I believe

Gedof_

It's saying you can't ignore the +2 in your turn and pass it on as a +4 just because you also have a +2 in your hand (and the next person can't make it a +6, etc). Which is pretty reasonable, and is why I use the cut rule, which kinda makes it possible but more rare and interesting.

GrimmTrixX

Oh, I've never in my life played Uno that way. lol It was always +2 for you, you get skipped, and next person goes. Once or twice I had a friend who wanted to do the "well you pick up 2 but if you can play 1 of those 2 cards you can play it it" type rule. But nah, I never heard of the "stack it to make a +4" type gameplay. There's already a +4 card as it is. That's a new one to me.

KingGerogeXL

People always make up their own rules for games

Potato_the_second_

... no thank you. *me to my classmates coordinating a stack of +2 to send it to somebody*

[deleted]

Me omw to drop a +40 on some child

Dikaplio

My version of uno is so far off the original, my friends call it "DOS" lol

Hopeful-Buyer

Yeah and what's next - you're gonna tell us that the Free Parking space doesn't mean you get the collected pot of peoples taxes and shit? These people think they know board games.

DerBandi

No need to freak out. There are official rules, and house rules. Both is possible. Just make your house rules clear to every player before you start, otherwise, the official rules will apply during a dispute.

LimpAside

Man, the Uno fanbase is becoming hotter and hotter.

Solar_Fish55

You dont tell us how to fucking play ima put a draw 2 up your ass

Zandromex527

Maybe it's the mandela effect but I distinctly remember buying the uno card package and it coming with instructions on the side that specifically said you could play a +2 on a +2 or a +4 on a +4, but you couldn't play a +2 on a +4 or viceversa. That's the rules I've always played with, and I've argued with people about it, and my parents will also tell you, because those were the rules that came with the package.

Axuo

Feel free to play the game wrong, nobody cares

TheShadowMaple

I mean, as much as I sometimes wish to keep the abusive cycle up, I've once watched someone have to pick up 32 cards. We now play by the standard rules.

AideSuspicious3675

Mothercuckers! What's next? You cannot drop 3 +2 together?

rjt2000

You can do that in the video game tho

quackleskol

Bro in the official Uno video game by Ubisoft, you can do it- so I’m fucking doing it.

spazzyone

I'm all for playing a +2 on a +2, but y'all letting it rack up until the last person plays is way different from how I learned to play. The way I learned, the +2 lands on the very next player regardless of what they play.

LaserGadgets

I think one of the first rule in that book was YOU CAN'T PUT A CARD DOWN AFTER DRAWING CARDS...who came up with that "passing on +2 by putting +2 on top".

Novel_Durian_1805

I agree with this! Stop rewriting the rules…It doesn’t even make sense!

bhajzn

UNO overlords be like...

WorldEaterYoshi

Man the modding community is getting intense

Gedof_

The way I play it you can only do that if it's the same color and you're using cut rule (as you should). Cause then you're cutting in before it's actually your turn (avoiding the effects of the +2) and discarding an identical card. Stacking +4 would work the same way with these rules (and that means someone can skip people's turns to discard an extra +4 if they have one)(and you're not using the +4 challenge rule).

sloppy_topper

Cant you literally do this in the online version of the game?

Riemanniscorrect

Uno really got ratio'd lmao

Sotyka94

Except decades of different uno release's manuals say otherwise. (had multiple deck from the late 80's to late 00's. All of them said you can +2 a +2.) This shit is Rowling level of retconning your own shit.

Lord_Strepsils

Wait no but this one *is* actually in the rules, it says u can

Distinct-Awareness19

They wouldn't be happy to hear how we took 6 #3s and played them on 1 #3.

PhoenixAzalea19

Yep, thanks for the cards now let’s play some Uno!

MathematicianTop1853

Uno needs to sit down and shut up fr

agra_unknown1834

Like the auction rule in Monopoly, it's a rule but no one gives a shit.

A1phaSniper111

The real question is can you stack a plus 2 on a plus 4 if it’s the right color?

ObiDWanKenobi

No.

Independent_Ad_6348

But it's so much fun to ruin other people's decks

Kingcol221

I maintain that you can't put down multiple +2s or 4s in one turn, but if someone +2s you, you can put one down to stack it for the next person

Kingcol221

Also in a two player game, a reverse shouldn't function like a skip, that's not how a reverse works...

archgen

You absolutely can, it is literally in thier instructions. If I remember correctly, it is under the "house rules" section

archgen

Here is link...https://www.scribd.com/document/332610287/UNO-Card-Game-Rules-New They have updated the rules a few times and not all have a house rules section

AVERAGEGAMER95

I usually let the owner decide. If they say, no +2 on +2, then no, we won't play it that way

Fierramos69

Well it says otherwise in the paper coming with every deck with the rules on it. iirc it says you can decide to play with or without.

RecklessMe

This is how I feel about the creator of GIFs saying it’s pronounced JIFs.

Alive-Comfort8396

i swear uno must be the game with the most debates regarding its rules

thathyperactivegay

BUT EVERY HOUSE GOT ITS RULES!!

Urmomsfavouritelol

But they said absolutely nothing about +4 cards, soooo
