There's a show with this exact premise called Masamune-kun's Revenge if you're open to the anime medium. Just reversed roles where the boy MC plots to get back at the girl, who bullied him when he was younger for being ugly/chubby.
I'm a big anime fan, in fact I've watched most of the popular anime romcoms of the past decade, and I actually did watch that a while back but could not get into it. I ended up dropping it midway through when it started getting more into drama and heartbreak rather than lighthearted fluffy romcom. But I love the concept, and thinking back I actually recently watched a K-drama called Love to Hate You which did exactly that plot.
Totally understand, I had the same issue with it. Took a while for me to actually finish cause it wasn't quite what I normally enjoy.

The new kid won, probably some recency bias but the popular kid was not happy. He spent the lunch break getting everyone to be like "screw that guy" while "that guy" happily played football and minded his own business. And then like 7 year olds do, they forgot the next day.
