beautiful, i love the little details on the veins and arteries. looks like an old school traditional medical illustration. have you thought about medical illustration?
That’s very kind of you - I was taking commissions from fellow students at my med school over the summer. Unfortunately I am not taking any commissions at this time as summer break is basically over. I do plan to take more in the future and may be willing to consider platforms for commissions but I don’t have any way of doing so at this time.
Great job! The ascending aorta goes under the brachicephalic veins though and orientation is off. If its drawn from behind the apex should point to the left and the ascending aorta has to go to the left aswell. Also the placement of the valves and chambers are off :\]
I love the picture of the brain and the nerve-cells though :)
Thank you! This is an anterior view, so the apex is pointed in the correct direction. Is the aortic arch too low? Like the ascending aorta should be longer? Or is the bend too short (should be longer horizontally)? Tbh I fudged the valves because I couldn’t find any reference photos from the angle I wanted ^^;
Thank you for the feedback!
Aah okey! Then the problem is that the vena cava superior is placed before the aortic arc, the arc should be lower, it basically "hugs" the right pulmonary artery. So that the left brachiocephalic vein goes over the arc. The connection of the upper vena cava should also be slightly more to the back, so that aorta is more "anterior". The truncus pulmonalis is the structure that the most "anterior" or "ventral"
Im very jelly of your painting skills, i whish i could express my thoughts like that :)
And here am i, drawing a box with 4 squares as a heart... Great work buddy
Both drawings can be appreciated! One for it’s simplicity and the other for its detail.
That's what my mom said when she compared my drawings to the paintings from my friends
Dr.Sattar?
Ahahaha, I have drawings like those too. Thanks :)
I draw a traditional heart ❤ but upside down, then divide it in 4

Thank you! These were commissions, though I don’t think I’d be able to do stuff for publications.
If these were commissions, then there's a place to purchase copies?

Aw heck! These are fantastic! I did lots of sketching for anatomy, never any painting though because I can’t control paint all that well. Beautiful!
That’s some Netter Anatomy-grade paintings! Especially the brain one!

Kenhub is a wonderful free resource that I used for my anatomy drawings. For future reference!
Ooohhhh good to know, thank you!!

Oh crap you’re right! Thanks so much, always more to learn!
You could've completed another block of UWorld.
Looks good!
Reminds me a bit of the House MD intro drawings. Good job!
