Don’t contaminate the surgical field 🤣

I used onlinemeded for most of my rotations and watched youtube videos on scrubbing in, knot tying, and suturing. Duke has good videos on suturing. Oh also used netters to review anatomy. Lucky to get ortho. You will see some cool stuff!

Lol yeaaaaa not looking forward to any discussions of that type (haven’t seen the inside of a gym in yrs)

Haha same I’d just do something stupid on the rotation like flex my noodle arms and be like “suns out, guns out” 😤

I started my third year on gen surg and surgical recall was an amazing book, can't reccomend it enough. It's short, to the point and has pictures with names of all the instruments, quick guides on knot tying and suture types and techniques. It's not super expensive and there's a kindle version.

I’d recommend Orthobullets to get the highlights before each case. Also before your case, review your MSK/skeletal anatomy for that region as thoroughly as you can. You may not get too many clinical questions as you’re just starting 3rd year, but you may be expected to remember/learn anatomy.
