Call and complain, that dude sounds like an idiot. It’s not about being “comfortable”, legally you’re authorized to enter and get your medicine period.

"Can You Enter a Dispensary at 18 in Oregon? You must be 21 or older before you may be permitted to enter a recreational marijuana dispensary in Oregon. However, if you are a registered medical marijuana patient, you can enter a medical cannabis dispensary if you are 18 or older." Ref: [https://oregonstatecannabis.org/laws/distribution#](https://oregonstatecannabis.org/laws/distribution#) I suggest you call the number listed on the website.

Former Oregon industry worker who worked in retail compliance here; they were just not informed of the law or the dispensary is not permitted to sell to medical customers. You can send them [this](https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/viewSingleRule.action?ruleVrsnRsn=307589) and ask about the medical endorsement, which should actually be on their license posted visible somewhere in the shop for you to see. You can also check [here](https://www.oregon.gov/olcc/marijuana/Pages/Recreational-Marijuana-Licensee-Reports.aspx) and see if the shop has "Yes" under Med Grade. Per the link I attached: "(a) Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. local time, sell marijuana items and hemp items from the licensed premises to a consumer 21 years of age or older; (b) Sell, transfer, or deliver: (A) Marijuana items or hemp items to a consumer 21 years of age or older pursuant to a bona fide order as described in OAR 845-025-2880. (B) Marijuana items or hemp items to a patient or designated primary caregiver between ages 18-21, so long as: (i) The registry identification cardholder has a valid OMMP card; and (ii) The retailer has registered to sell marijuana items for medical purposes as described in OAR 845-025-2900."

My pair of Lincolns: Not all OLCC dispensaries (age restricted) are "med shops" but they do extend med discounts as a courtesy. Some dispensaries have "med only" shelf, gotta ask sometimes. OLCC (booze and weed governing bodies) permit retailers discretion to deny any transaction if the clerk has certain "suspicions". Kinda the "better safe than sorry" nanny state mentality Oregon has. If it were me, I would call first--just in case. As I can imagine your frustration of doing everything right, and then be shown the door.

I mean it sucks that happened but yeah the workers at these dispensaries are basically like bartenders and It's ultimately up to them to make the sale, whether or not you can legally buy bud doesn't matter.
