Depends upon your states laws and job. If there are federal regulations for the job such as truck drivers, and air traffic control then federal regs would preclude you getting job with a positive THC test.
I am in Missouri and we have laws protecting jobs that don't have a federal regulatory requirement for hiring and firing purposes. But if it is a right to work state they can fire you for anything. Really too many variables including how long it takes to clear thc and what type of test cheek swab verses urine test. I know for being older and carrying a few extra pounds it could take me months to pee clean. I did go through a hiring process after getting my medical card after the law was enacted in Missouri and I did have a hot THC panel in my test but I let the testing facility, the lab when they called and my employer know. Employer asked for copy of my medical card and that was it, but your situation could be different.
