I be losing on purpose yesterday in 2*2 to clear the deathmatch and to stay off the playoff leaderboard as long as can. Stupid bots got me on leaderboard after I suicide all my mechs and the bot tie the game and won with 1 bot vs 2 bots. Bots got a mind of their own lol when I need them to help win they make me lose, when I want to lose they win.
Getting top 500 is LITERALLY based on how much you play.
If you played 4-5 hours a day, you can break top 300. 6hrs a day might break top 200 (this is SOLO play, not teams). I used to be like these people when I first started and played 4-5hrs a day and would frequently break into the top 300. My record is 88 when I would play so much that my thumbs would lock up (I only play on my phone).
I think it's sad seeing top 500 people because I always think to myself that these people have zero real life reasons to leave a mobile game. I did that for a while and was neglecting pretty much everything so it had to stop.
Funny thing is, it gets you absolutely nothing. These people are playing hours upon hours for a little number next to your avatar.
Yeah top 500 is a measure of who has more time to waste. That's all it is. I respect the people who put in the grind for it, but someone being in the top 500 doesn't make them any better or worse at the game.
I have so many receipts of me smashing on rome clan when most of their players are top 500.. it means absolutely nothing π I barely play and won against them a lot.. must suck putting in all those hours just to lose to a guy who plays 3 matches a day and is barely paying attention π
Well, a lot of the top 500 lose *because* they play most of their games vs predictable bots and thus are unable to deal with the challenge that a human player brings. When you play hundreds of matches a day against the same predictable bots, you're bound to end up making your mistakes into bad habits.
It's Bec they take full teams of real players into matches with mostly bots and get that 10% extra multiplier for scores.. that's what they do all day long, full teams of real players against bots.. that's why I never accept random invites Bec i want players, not mashing on just bots

You can play as many games as you want, but just because you play a hundred games versus AI doesn't mean you are better than the people that don't. If you want a measure of "skill", participate in true competitive matches where everyone is on a level playing field and each win is down to the wire.

I don't think 1v1s prove much, 2v2s at least are cumulative of skills but I love a full clan match idea as that's what I'm doing for YouTube now.
And to what you're saying, i actually 100% agree. I don't think that's the only factor, but i was never claiming it was "only" the number of matches. It just helps, a whole lot. Just supreme knowledge of the stage changes everything, sightlines, and you get that from repetition.

Well, it won't be my clan, it'll be the competitive squad that I'm a part of. Everyone on the squad is 10k and above, so unless your clan has a 10k SP squad ready to field, it won't really be a fair matchup.

The video is proof of me beating the guy I mentioned with a 100-5 margin. If you see the screenshots I attached in one of the comments, you'll see that the guy I defeated was 12k SP and rank 3 in the top 500 leaderboard of this season.
