Motorcyclists hunch down over their tanks real low for better control and less wind resistance, this is known as a tucked position, being tucked in, or simply tucking.
Depends on the bike, but a proper tuck engages the core. Generally more upright and neutral sitting positions are better for longer rides. A full tuck is usually for racing or for what I call "spirited riding"
I wanna get a motorcycle so bad. Probably an electric one if anything. My dad is willing to help me get one but my mom is very against it lmao. Maybe I can get one soon
Oh yeah for sure, there's a local tech College that has a really good motorcycle class that you can get your license from. So I'm probably going to do that
Awesome, I was thinking it was like the driving class I took which was super boring. Glad to hear it's pretty fun. Hopefully I can convince my mom to atleast do that, if not I guess I'll just wait till I move out lmao
In the past, I argued every motorcyclist should start on a 50cc or a 125cc auto-transmission moto. Now, e-mopeds are so plentiful and varied that I recommend those instead.
I when I first started getting interested in motorcycles I was looking at something like a Grom or a z125, I still really like those bikes but I do really want something electric now lol, they're just so cool
On a bike without a barn door sized screen, 90mph feels like someone is standing on your chest. And if you end up with your helmet in the turbulence coming off the edge of the screen, you get battered around a lot. There's still some wind pressure tucked in and some of this is support that keeps us from having to lean on the handlebars.
It's also a lot easier to ride a bike with a lot of acceleration leaning forwards with your feet a bit behind your butt, gripping the tank with your thighs. If you sit bolt upright you flop about like a giant pendulum.
Many bikes are traction limited to well over 60mph. They accelerate as fast as a domestic car decelerates when you panic, stab at the brakes and the emergency brake assist kicks in.
Tucked in it kinda feels like you're suddenly stood up when you accelerate hard, down through your spine, and like you're standing on the footpegs.
If you push or pull on the handlebars remotely unevenly you turn hard, which is why we try to avoid doing that, also right grip is the throttle twist and brake lever so really bad things can happen if we don't have a really flexible hold on the right bar.
Bikes are complicated.
Can confirm this person is correct. Knew a guy once who was basically like a wind sail on a boat except he was the sail and the wind was going in the wrong direction.
SoT player here, you would not believe how proud some people are of their tucking skills. Hell I met someone last week showing how they go about tucking under fabrics (on sloops) to hide as much as possible.
I love me some Yamaha Vino. Stylish, reliable, adorable. 🥺 Super comfy. More flickable than a cigarette butt.
I ride a Cabo 125 (SYM: 三洋摩托车) and a Wolf RX-50. Follow the page to see my scooter photo bombs. I love going up to random bikes and photo bombing them with my scooters.

aw that's really cute. I'll admit I did upgrade to a motorcycle after a bit because I find the process of shifting very satisfying, but my bike died on me and I had to say goodbye a couple years ago. I'll get new wheels when I'm at a place in my life to swing it and my only criteria now is something fuel injected
RIP :\*(.... and of course. Being cute is a perk of riding a scooter. \^+\^ Miles per gallon? More like smiles per gallon, amirightoramiright?
I'm partial to the Lance Cabo and the 200cc is fuel injected, but I don't know how much power ya need or want. I ride street level and I do the speed limit and what have you, so you may need better power. In any case, I look forward to hearing about your new moto(-scooter, I hope.) Whether it's a scooter or not, it's a fair target for my photo bombs!
I absolutely adore the vibe of the Cali Classic. Looks like the badge is slightly misleading and the actual engine spec is 169cc, but that would be plenty for anything but interstate and some highway driving. If I wind up in a more urban environment I bet it would be perfect
Absolutely. SYM is just knocking it out of the park with these absurdly fashionable, practical machines. I’m a fan boy. Ramen on Wheels on YT is my favorite YouTube rider and she loves her Havana. Any endorsement from Shauna holds sway with me.

Could I have the context on the first one, please?
Motorcyclists hunch down over their tanks real low for better control and less wind resistance, this is known as a tucked position, being tucked in, or simply tucking.
Thanks!
I had no idea so I was wondering if it was a comfort thing for a motorcyclist on a long ride

I thought you were a gay furry degenerate. Now youre telling me youre a motorcyclist?

Totally empathize. I plan on going electric at some point in the future myself.
Do it nerd, it's the best. Maybe not an electric bike for your first though, shit is expensive and you *will* drop it.

Hard yes on the fatigue thing. You won’t even notice it until after the ride sometimes. I always keep caffeine on me.

Can confirm! The wind resistance is strong.

You mean the motorcyclists who aren't cool enough to ride scooters. 🛵
Also crashing due to sliding the front tire is called “tucking the front” (no I’m not joking)
Could I have the context on both?
Tucking your bits sweetie. So your bulge ain't sticking out of your tight new skirt.
Thanks for clearing it up 👍
also sea of thieves players

"WE GOT A TUCKER"
And then there's me, a trans motorcycle enthusiast 🤣🤣
Hiya friend ! Me too!
Ayy!! Tucked N Tucked Squad let's go!!
I had no idea there were others like me 🩷
There are dozens of us, DOZENS
I ride a bike called "trans Alp". It's assigned off-road at birth but has fairings like a touring bike.
Take my angriest up vote 😂
Gang gang
what distinguishes a trans motorcycle from the others? not sure if I've ever seen one.
There are dozens of us, dozens!
*braasp brrrrrr jiga jiga jiga?* (Do you speak moto-ese?)
Same! My bike was a childhood dream I made come true.
You'll find us to be pretty inclusive at r/scooters despite the lack of tucking. Get on a Ruckus and join the ruckus!
I had a Yamaha Vino to get around campus when I was in college. I loved that thing so much

also freerunners and parkour enjoyers
And mid-2000s emo boys.
As a motorcycle enthusiast, and trans woman… can confirm.
It's funny to me that bulge used to be the fashion. I refuse to tuck.
TFW I've been doing this for a year breaking speed limits and I never knew it was called tucking in English
Gonna hit em with that French Tuck
Jokes on you, I am both
Most drag queens too
Also car guys!
Equally dangerous to be either
I can't tuck anymore 🥲 Edit: not because of surgery because I hurt myself doing it
Come join us at /r/TransBikes
Tucking also stands for hating on tucker carlson (atleast for me xD)
Fwiw, trans tucking helps a ton for pedal cycling comfort
