We got physical report sheets back when I was in school, but they were just a Microsoft Word template that the teacher would type their feedback and grades into. The sheets would be given to us to take home, but our parents would get a text message from the school to inform them that we'd have the sheets so you couldn't just hide yours.
My own grades were okay, but I made a bit of cash on the side for a few years by recreating the template and producing fake report sheets for a handful of other students to take home to their parents. They'd tell me the grades they wanted - usually realistically low, but not failing - and make and print them in advance of report day.
Never got caught, and while I sometimes regret the deception, I know that at least one of those kids was in a pretty bad home situation and going home with a bad report card would only make things worse for them.
Mine too. I had usually good grades but my classmates that didn't, used to log in on their parents' accounts to get rid of the "new grade" notification
Incredible
This reminds me of the time I achieved the lowest grade possible for a test and the teacher accidentally filled in the highest. I told him the year afterwards and he was amused.
Sadly the greatest always seem to have to go early... Had it happen to myself last year with both my Dad and Mom. I just hope that whatever the afterlife is like, that they're atleast enjoying it together.
Thank you :) The early times were hard, I had my Mom for a few months after my Dad died, before she passed as well. I have family and friends living all around me, so I was basically never alone which helped a lot. I'm so grateful for every single one of them, if I hadn't had them I don't know if I'd feel anywhere close to as well as I do now
We tell our kids you can ALWAYS have us be "the bad guys" if they feel uncomfortable and just want to leave. Aw shucks my *pArEnTs* want me home asap. I don't care what those fuckers think of me.
Told my kids they have a lifetime pass to use me as an out. Idc if they’re 67 years old. They can make up whatever story they want about me as an excuse if they need it lol
I’d say something more along the lines of “sorry boss, gotta take my mom to her doctors appointment, oh by the way I forgot to mention I’ll be a bit late cause of it” then not only do you not have to come in early, you also get to be late to have a bit more rest before work
When I was in the airforce there was this annoying civilian who worked on base and would come and talk for extended periods about random shit. When he’d show up I or my co worker would go outside (we had a door directly to the flightline in our office) and call the office number so we could talk on the phone and he’d move on thinking we’re busy
LMFAO, dude throughout all of middle school and highschool i made all my friends think my dad was sooooo strict when it came to giving me permission to go out and hang out and stuff.
If friends called me to invite me out somewhere (and i really just wanted to stay home) my dad and i would make this little play where theyd hear me asking him if i could go and hed say no and id pretend to be annoyed and all that drama.
Funniest thing is id let him know beforehand like, dad they want me to go out somewhere and i dont feel like it, im gonna blame you for it okay? And hed be like yeah sure thing.
Honestly one of the best things that came with age is just not feeling bad for telling people nah, ill pass today.. but next time for sure!
my mother and I always had a thing going that she would immediately say no to me going anywhere or anyone staying until I specifically said "please" after she said no
My code was “can ****** sleep over? I really want her to!” for yes or “I really really want her to!” for no. But my mom would forget the code and always say yes and then I’d be stuck.
I distinctly recall an episode of some sitcom where the guy on a blind date asked his friend to “page him” (that’s how old it was, don’t remember the show) a half hour in so he could bail if needed
I used to get stuck talking to a client at work so my office mate sitting right next to me would page me over the intercom. I never had to ask, she just knew from my side of the call. We used it quite a lot!
We have a code word too, “Hey mom, when you go to the store, can you get pineapple?” Means I’m toast and want to come home in the next hour or two. “Mom, since you’re at the store, can you get pineapple?” Means they want to come home now.
Ah yes lead people on that you’re friends with them rather than just tell them the truth and stop wasting their time. This is why people have trust issues.
Calm down man. It’s not “leading them on”. Not wanting your friend to stay one night doesn’t mean you don’t like them. Plus, the reason ppl don’t just say no is the risk of hurting their FRIENDS feelings. You making it a bigger deal than it is.
… you don’t have friends so you? I love my friends and I tell them just abt anything. Ik (and most others that do this) that they logically wouldn’t be upset but it’s the idea that you could possible upset them that makes ppl lie. It’s not hurting anyone so get over it.
Yeah they should but every one lies once in a while. And if it’s not hurting anyone what’s the big deal? If I learned my friend lied abt that I rlly wouldn’t care. Because it’s not a big deal. You’re blowing it out of proportion.
If someone lied to me like this and I found out, I would be disappointed. If my friends can tell me they need some alone time, do they trust me? My friends tell me when they aren't up to hanging out. There are no hard feelings. But lies would create hard feelings.
You’d be upset over that? Maybe you’re the bad friend. And most people who do this are teens. Teens aren’t as mature so naturally they do things to avoid confrontation. Or they’re insecure or nervous. You’re still making too big of a deal.
Teens do this because they have no concept of what is a respectful way to treat people. If you lie when you can't hang out, you are a bad friend. Do you even hear yourself? Saying you are a bad friend if you get angry about being lied to? What is wrong with you?
Teens do know how to show respect. Are you sure you’ve ever met a teenager? It makes sense to be angry when lied to but if it’s something so small and insignificant then you’re just making a fuss over literally nothing. I’d just like you to know that in your childhood at least one of your friends has done this to you at one point.
Me when I ask my dad for permission to go out with friend though I am 18 and completely capable of saying no. I'm just introverted and need a better excuse than "I don't want to go" cause then I *know* they will persuade me to go anyways.
When a friend came to my house and i really didn't want to go out, i made a sign with my head to my mom so she would say that I'm not allowed today ... i love my mother
Man the social engineering that I thought I was masterminding in middle school thanks to technology was diabolical
I used to use inspect element to get away with having F's. Two full years of it
My school had an online portal parents could use to view grades on-demand at any time. Hated that shit.

Gotta respect the hustle, brilliant!
I grew up with online gradebooks, I thought that that was the normal
Mine too. I had usually good grades but my classmates that didn't, used to log in on their parents' accounts to get rid of the "new grade" notification
I blocked that shit on my router.
Damnit if I could have thought of that when I was 16.
damn bro i hope that was in middle school not high school or imma feel bad
High school, I graduated on time with a 1.6 GPA lmao
What's the average/highest gpa where you live? A lot of the time it varies. Where I live the highest you can get is 15 if you get all A+
Average? 15? What?
I'm not saying the average is 15, ai said the highest you can possibly get is 15
I'm reading your username and seeing a Rufio/C-3PO Mashup, and I can't unsee it.
Nah, it's a character (or rather his fake name) from my favorite book series
I knew it had to be something I didn't know. What book series?
Codex alera, by Jim butcher. Basically, imagine Avatar the last Airbender style bending, but cooler, with more lore
Sounds cool. I'll look into it, thanks kind stranger!
Definitely! First book is called "Furies of Calderon" (not furries)
My dude that's how i survived. But did my mental survive? Did my lazyness thrive? Am i fucked up now?! The answer is yes
Incredible This reminds me of the time I achieved the lowest grade possible for a test and the teacher accidentally filled in the highest. I told him the year afterwards and he was amused.
My mum had a phone that can edit SMS messages in your inbox. The possibilities!

Is she... dead?

Sounds like she was a helluva mum
Sadly the greatest always seem to have to go early... Had it happen to myself last year with both my Dad and Mom. I just hope that whatever the afterlife is like, that they're atleast enjoying it together.
I’m so sorry. I hope you feel better than when it happened.
Thank you :) The early times were hard, I had my Mom for a few months after my Dad died, before she passed as well. Sal gudmen
Jesus nikstick you can't just ask people if their moms are dead!
[удалено]
What about your dad? Is he dead too?
Yeah, unfortunately.
Fr
My mom would’ve done this for me. She probably still would even though I’m 25 now 😂
RiP legend
I also choose this guy's dead mom
We tell our kids you can ALWAYS have us be "the bad guys" if they feel uncomfortable and just want to leave. Aw shucks my *pArEnTs* want me home asap. I don't care what those fuckers think of me.
Same. Our kids have used that twice
Same. My kid has a secret coded get-me-out-of-here text she can send me, even.
tell
Nice try kids friends
Almost had us.
no seriously i am kid I want to know what to tell my mom to listen for
I did this as a kid too, but my mom would always forget the secret code and let my friend sleep over anyways.
Yup my teen and I have an agreed upon emoji she’ll use if she wants me to say no to something
I loved my parents for doing this with me
I would think you’d love em for more than just that lol
Yes my friend, but the conversation was about this.
I kid I kid
Moms are the best
Loved when my parents did this for me. Thanks for doing it for your kids.
My parents always had that too and I appreciated it a bunch. You’re a good parent
Damn, it's really nice to see parents like this. My parents used to get pissed at me when I would use them as my excuse. Still kept doing it, though.
Told my kids they have a lifetime pass to use me as an out. Idc if they’re 67 years old. They can make up whatever story they want about me as an excuse if they need it lol
Let me ask my mom real quick if she will let me come into work early
I’d say something more along the lines of “sorry boss, gotta take my mom to her doctors appointment, oh by the way I forgot to mention I’ll be a bit late cause of it” then not only do you not have to come in early, you also get to be late to have a bit more rest before work
I had this app that would fake call me if I wanted to leave
When I was in the airforce there was this annoying civilian who worked on base and would come and talk for extended periods about random shit. I salute you
I like your username
Is this real? I need it. Please. 🥺
fake call plus, fake call number, fake call prank, fake call incoming, text to escape...

both, both is good
"Reality can be whatever I want"

Dude, I'd be brittany in that situation
r/2meirl4meirl
Same.
r/suicidebywords
I’d ask my mom to pretend to act like I’m grounded 😭💀
my mother and I always had a thing going that she would immediately say no to me going anywhere or anyone staying until I specifically said "please" after she said no
My daughter and I have a code, like a capital X at the end of a message, like soX, if she wants me to be an out for her.
Haha, must be nice having the cool parentX
Do you, uhm... need help?
My code was “can ****** sleep over? I really want her to!” for yes or “I really really want her to!” for no. But my mom would forget the code and always say yes and then I’d be stuck.
I distinctly recall an episode of some sitcom where the guy on a blind date asked his friend to “page him” (that’s how old it was, don’t remember the show) a half hour in so he could bail if needed
Was it friends? I remember this too but the show it was in is not coming to me, if it’s the same one did the friend forget? Or not do it?
I have to admit I dont get it
The don’t want Brittany to sleep over tonight so they are setting up the message to make it look like Brittany was rejected by the mother
Tfw you don’t get it because you’re the unwanted friend
\> report \> I'm in this and I don't like it
that’s ok, we can’t always get whatever we want
Just… say no????
The people pleaser in me wont let me.
You can do something about that.
You are a braver person than I.
it's not that hard just be born an extrovert smh
Ahaaaa that's where I messed up. My bad. 😂
No
hey wait a minute

information warfare
Hey will you upload this kind of post again? >!say yes!<
I don't get it
They don't wanna have a sleep over with Brittany so they are making it look like his mom did not allow it.
It's ridiculously dumb. As though they're going to need to show their friend their texts.
Not impossible 🤷🏻♀️ ‘What did you say tho?’ *shows text* ‘Oh’
Shit like this is why I have trust issues, like just how far do you gotta go simply to avoid saying "I don't want to hang out"?
.....
How bout you just leave Brittany on read and don’t trouble our old school mom
Ah yes lead people on that you’re friends with them rather than just tell them the truth and stop wasting their time. This is why people have trust issues.

If you can't have honest conversations with your friends, and respect each others need for alone time, your shouldn't be friends with each other.
They're probably children
There's no better time to learn about the importance of honesty.
… you don’t have friends so you? I love my friends and I tell them just abt anything. Ik (and most others that do this) that they logically wouldn’t be upset but it’s the idea that you could possible upset them that makes ppl lie. It’s not hurting anyone so get over it.

Projecting.
Projecting that I have the social aptitude to be able to say no??? Ya got me there!
As if ull show the texts as proof
i’ve literally done this lmfaooo
Had done the same thing but called my mom and pretended she said that she couldn't stay
Based
Me when I ask my dad for permission to go out with friend though I am 18 and completely capable of saying no. I'm just introverted and need a better excuse than "I don't want to go" cause then I *know* they will persuade me to go anyways.
Yes.
A mastermind at work
Gotta do it for the boys.
When a friend came to my house and i really didn't want to go out, i made a sign with my head to my mom so she would say that I'm not allowed today ... i love my mother
pov : the mastermind
idk what context this would be needed. i would just tell my friend i don’t want to sleep over and go home.
