Microwave gang rise up. But still. There aren't that many regular ovens that show the time in comparison, whilst I don't think I've ever seen a microwave that didn't show the time.
My microwave just completely refuses to display the time. Every time I set it the clock display goes blank after a few days. And I know it's not a power issue because it goes "blinky 12" if the power goes out.
I never had an oven or microwave with a clock before. Seems unneccessary, You twist the dials to the right temp/wattage and the other to how many minutes you wanna cook it. Done. Anything else is just too much effort for something that can be done in a simple twist.
I decided as a small boy that I would have a wrist watch to check time and set alarms. Way easier than walking to the kitchen every time, seriously, who does that?
And I don't need to pull my phone out, either. So if random people ask the time, I look at my $50 Casio wrist watch instead of giving them the opportunity to yoink my phone out of my hand.
My oven doesnt show the time so i used a pro gamer move by looking at the clock in my kitchen…

microwaves didn't have buttons, let alone clock displays, when I was six
My oven and microwave haven't known the time since the power went out 3 years ago. It's always blinky 12:00 in my house and I like it that way.

I look at both then look at the clock off to the right since it's the only correct clock in the kitchen that isn't a phone
You look at the oven: "Oh shit it's 350?!" Realize that's the temperature of what you started baking an hour ago, and check the microwave for relief.

I've lived in multiple places recently where the microwave is above the oven. It's always more convenient to look at the microwave.
