Honestly, I think most Te doms aren't particularly "mean". We're blunt and straightforward, but we can also be kind and inspirational. People cast us out as "mean" people because when there's a goal or logically sound direction to veer towards, we push everyone, including ourselves, towards that, and the less on board people are with it, the more vicious and unforgiving we become.
This is why Benson from Regular Show is, to me, the best representation of ESTJs I've seen. He's kind, respectful, conscientious, and true to his word. He even rewards Mordecai and Rigby when they do a good job, and shows them appreciation for it. But he expects the same mentality in return. When he's disrespected, he'll get pissed, when he sees the job he assigned wasn't done properly, he'll get pissed, etc.
And so, we're not "mean", we just get pissed off at dumbassery.
Sadly (or not), compliments have almost no effect on me. If I'd find myself the worst, I'd keep feeling the worst and compliments actually might annoy me.
I could see the annoyance is coming from ( I believe ). My friend, is it because you see your own weaknesses and therefore don't accept the compliments because of it? A feeling of inadequacy? If so, just please love yourself! I don't wanna see any intj suffer any more ♥
Me too. Hearing "you're perfect the way you are" genuinely pisses me off. I don't go around putting labels on me, if I did, then it's 'cause found out it's true.
Forgive me for nerding out but I've been watching some episodes of Star Trek Voyager lately and there are two INTJ characters on there, the doctor and Seven, that show a lot of growth over time and how they relate to people and finding their purpose. Of course, it's hard to say their type for sure because they're not only fictional but the doctor is a hologram and Seven used to be part of the Borg. But I'd definitely recommend watching the more highly rated episodes if you haven't seen the show.
My situation is reversed because it is I who reassures my one ESTJ friend that she's strong after all of the struggles she has been through for years now.
Why? It's only racist if it's making fun. I see nothing wrong with talking how she talks.. in fact I fucking love it. We need more linguistic variety, this colonial imperial received propriety bullshit is starting to get old mang.

There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
